RACE TWO

IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7) started from this impost last week over the 2647m trip when wide off the track and hitting the line in good order to be 6m from the dead-heating winners. Starting relatively well after showing some issues at release in recent starts, she charged home for 2nd here 2 starts back. With another safe start, she can arrive.

HAVANA MAGIC (4) was a strong winner here 5 starts back when sent forward from the 20m tape to get outside the leader and then proved too strong in claiming a 6m winning margin. Nothing went to plan at her next 3 outings before bouncing back last start when sharing the spoils after a tough run in transit. She can look to make it an outright victory this time.

SKYLINE (9) was working home nicely last start to grab the bronze when 5m in arrears of the winners. That followed a 4m margin when shooting for a hat-trick and he will again be in the mix.

ONE MUSCLE HILL (6) has worked his way back into form and capitalised last start when finishing best to claim the prize. This is a step up, but with some new-found confidence can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7), HAVANA MAGIC (4), SKYLINE (9), ONE MUSCLE HILL (6)
SUGGESTED BET: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7) to win

RACE THREE

JUSTABITLIKEMUM (4)
has regained winning form after hitting a flat spot earlier this year. Sent to the front over this trip 2 starts back, she was fighting hard when only grabbed right on the wire in a blanket finish when beaten a half-head. Franking that run with a tidy win last start, she can look to repeat.

REIGN ON ME (6) was back in the pack and chasing when down the line behind MELPARK MAGIC last start. The start prior she was buried away in the run and was only 5m from the winner when probing for space to make her challenge. She needs some factors in her favour, yet the longer trip will suit.

FOURSHARESMOREBEERS (8) started from a 10m tape last start in a stronger contest when charging home to grab the bronze when 2m from the winner. Forget his previous 2 outings, if he brings his manners, he is a threat.

SPIRIT WALKER (7) resumes from a spell and has been to the trials once to open the pipe in readiness for her return. 2647m 1st up is a big ask, yet she loves the longer trip and can feature here.

SELECTIONS: JUSTABITLIKEMUM (4), REIGN ON ME (6), FOURSHARESMOREBEERS (8), SPIRIT WALKER (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

FOND MEMORIES (9)
returns from a 3 start Menangle campaign that started with a mid-field finish in a heat of the NSW Oaks when ending buried in the run from gate 1 and chasing hard behind winner MAAJIDA. Runner-up at her next 2 appearances when starting fav in each, she finds a suitable target here.

IFYOUBELIEVE (2) was sent to the post as fav last start and finding the pocket trail from gate 3 in a slick opening panel, held on for the bronze. Not too far away the start prior at Redcliffe, he has developed a knack of finishing in the money with a top-3 in 17 of 21 this season. He won’t be far away.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (10) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon angled into the running line. Threading a gap to arrive right on the wire to score, with the right cart home, he can feature again.

GOJOE (6) found the front from gate 5 last start easily enough before being harangued through the 1st split, with the leading duties costing a 26.2 sec opening panel. That proved too expensive and he faded late, only 4m in arrears. Still a maiden, he can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: FOND MEMORIES (9), IFYOUBELIEVE (2), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (10), GOJOE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FOND MEMORIES (9) to win

RACE FIVE

SUNNY RICE (2) resumes from a spell after placing in 3 of her 6 starts that kicked off her racing career, starting fav in 4 of those. Grabbed in the closing strides when leading them up over the 2138m at her last start, she was only beaten a head. Returning here without a public trial, she might just be able to see this out.

BLACKJACK BART (4) returns following a 1st campaign that returned 2 wins and 2 minors in 5 outings. Claiming a 2YO victory on the last day of the season when sent forward from the 2nd line and proving too strong, he backed that up with a 3YO win before going for a break. With a tidy pipe opener at the trials, he can return with a bang.

GINGER MICKY (10) will strip fitter following his return to the track last start when mid-field. Eased back early, it was always going to be an ask with ETERNAL PROMISE dictating in sizzling time around the triangle. Despite the tricky gate, he can chime in here.

REDS GOOD TO GO (3) was building towards a victory after finishing runner-up in 3 of his previous 4 starts. Finding his race last start, he was able to capitalise when sent forward and holding on to a narrow victory. He is a podium chance again.

SELECTIONS: SUNNY RICE (2), BLACKJACK BART (4), GINGER MICKY (10), REDS GOOD TO GO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GINGER MICKY (10) each-way

RACE SIX

MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (7) isn’t afforded any favours from the wide gate here, but she might just have the class edge to overcome the impediment. Returning from a freshen after a tilt at a NSW Oaks heat, she was sent to the front and never in danger thereafter here last time out. Limiting the burn in pressing forward, she can see it out.

ALBION ARK (1) found his race last start when starting from the two-hole over the mile. Sent straight to the front, he was able to ease his way through the half before opening them up and cruising home to a 7m victory. The rise to the 2138m is a query, but he has the gate to avail options for the challenge.

BOLT THE BOMB (2) was keen in the pocket trail last start when chasing home for the silver behind MISS RUBY SUNSHINE. That followed a smart Redcliffe win over the sprint trip and he has claims.

OUR BALOU (3) returns from a break and has been to the trials to prepare for the return. Too strong for them last start over this trip when sent forward from the 2nd line, he can feature here.

SELECTIONS: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (7), ALBION ARK (1), BOLT THE BOMB (2), OUR BALOU (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

NEWMERELLA SHARKIE (8) hasn’t been to the winners stall for a while, but with the factors in his favour, can look to rectify that here. Too far back last start when trying to chase as MAYWYNS BEST dictated in front, he was only 6m from the same winner 2 starts back. Following a smart beginner, he can be ready to strike in the stretch.

BLADE (1) found the front here last week over this trip, with the leading role coming at an expense of 26.2 seconds for the opening panel. With a sub 28 3rd split, he was left vulnerable, yet was fighting hard to be within 1.5m of victory. Taking control early again here, he will take some catching.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (9) will be further tightened following 2 runs back from a break, with both returning 3rd placed results. Closing strongly last start to be 8m in arrears of ANYCHANCE, he has early peg-line options and can chime in here.

HES OKEY DOKEY (10) will also have the peg options and that might be the place to play this contest. Holding on for the silver last start when 8m from the winner, he won’t be far away in this.

SELECTIONS: NEWMERELLA SHARKIE (8), BLADE (1), MAFUTA VAUTIN (9), HES OKEY DOKEY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-8-9-10

RACE EIGHT

THE SHADY ONE (1) will take benefit from his return to the track last start when stepping out for the 1st time in 5 months. Taken back off the arm from gate 7 last start, he settled well back over the mile before attacking the line strongly in the closing stages. With enough early speed to dictate his position, he looks to get his chance.

BODHIE TREE (8) was taken back from gate 6 over this trip 2 starts back and was buried away. Probing for openings he was strong to the line despite not featuring after just being too far out of the ground. With a cosy trip on offer, he can be searching for space to chime in here.

VINNY CHASE (6) led them up here 2 starts back over this trip and looked to have pinched it, only to be collared on the line when JAMES DEAN nabbed him after stalking him in the trail. The wide gate hurts, but he can be fighting on in this.

KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (9) is in nice touch with a minor in 4 of his past 5 appearances. Best of the chasers behind the talented SPEECH IS SILVER last time out, he can follow through to find the podium.

SELECTIONS: THE SHADY ONE (1), BODHIE TREE (8), VINNY CHASE (6), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THE SHADY ONE (1) to win
