MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (6) goes in search of a hat-trick here after wins at the mile and then last time at the 2138m trip. Finding the front and dictating proceedings in both of those contests, she has been too slick in both, cruising home to smart victories. This is another step, yet she is a classy filly and can land the threepeat.
THE DOORMAN (10) took on a qualifier last start and after easing to find the running line from gate 5, was hitting the line in good order to grab the bronze behind LETTUCEFIRESTAR. Carted out of it by a tiring runner the start prior at 2138m, with the right run in transit, he can be swooping hard.
MISS MONEYBAGS (7) will also be shooting for a hat-trick after successive wins over the 2138m. Taking out a mares qualifier last start when sent to the front, the gate does her no favours.
LAUGHING EMOJI (1) claimed a mares qualifier last start when taking them all the way from gate 2 with a 1m margin to spare. Gunned down the start prior, she will have the options to feature here.
SELECTIONS: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (6), THE DOORMAN (10), MISS MONEYBAGS (7), LAUGHING EMOJI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (6) to win
AT WEST POINT (6) doesn’t have any favours from the wide gate, however he might just have found the right conditions to arrive in an open contest. Finding the line in good order last start when buried away in transit from inside he 2nd line, he wasn’t far away when grabbing 2nd behind the subsequent winner SAM IS PERFECTION. This is within reach.
ONE OFF (1) has been to the track twice this prep and should be further tightened from his latest appearance. Eased back from gate 6 over the sprint trip, he was working home in good order. With his best gate for some time, he can look to take full advantage of the conditions here.
CELTIC CRUZA (9) pressed on to the front last time out in a qualifier and setting the tempo over the 2138m, rolled up the track under pressure. Earning his return to competition at the trials, he strikes the right type of contest to feature.
GODDESS JUJON (8) was a beaten fav last start from gate 6 over the Redcliffe 2040m when eased from the start prior to making a wide run in the latter stages. With an easier trip, she can chime in.
SELECTIONS: AT WEST POINT (6), ONE OFF (1), CELTIC CRUZA (9), GODDESS JUJON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: AT WEST POINT (6) to win
TRUE STEPPER (6) hasn’t missed the board in 5 outings this season, scoring 2 smart wins in those appearances. Buried away from gate 1 last start, she was probing for an opening when 5m in arrears of the in-form CAUTIVAR. A tough winner from gate 7 when facing the breeze 2 starts back, she finds another suitable target here.
PURE CHARISMA (5) started from inside the 2nd line against mares company at Redcliffe last start when chasing home to land the silver. Fading out the start prior when doing her share of early work from gate 5 over the 2040m trip. Limiting the workload in transit, she can challenge in this line-up.
THE MONEY BALL (8) backs-up from Tues where he was locked away 3 back from this same alley and looking for gaps when chasing home behind BLACKSADANCE. Tough the start prior, he will be probing again here.
IDEAL TIGER (9) arrived to claim a Marburg victory and open his Au account 2 starts back and followed that with a narrow 3rd behind JILLIBY GIZMO. He can be chiming in again in this.
SELECTIONS: TRUE STEPPER (6), PURE CHARISMA (5), THE MONEY BALL (8), IDEAL TIGER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TRUE STEPPER (6) to win
BETTTERTHANDIAMONDS (6) looks to have matured nicely during her spell and returned to the track with a big victory. That win went some way to franking the talent displayed during her 2YO season that was derailed by her manners. With the winning confidence, she can look to repeat.
JOEY LINCOLN (1) was sent to the post a red figure fav when making his race debut last time out. That came off the back of a smart trial performance, but it didn’t go to plan on raceday, doing some work in the run and then making an error in ending his chances. He will search for atonement.
SIGNOR JUJON (8) was a beaten fav last time out when runner-up to the in-form BEEF CITY STARZZZ. With a cosy trip on offer, he will be probing for the openings to offer a challenge.
CHEESANDKISSES (10) will take good benefit from her latest outing when returning from a break. Finding the pocket trail over the 2138m, she had too much to offer in arriving for a nice win. The gate hurts.
SELECTIONS: BETTTERTHANDIAMONDS (6), JOEY LINCOLN (1), SIGNOR JUJON (8), CHEESANDKISSES (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTTERTHANDIAMONDS (6) to win
ALBION ARK (4) was a winner from gate 2 here 3 starts back when sent straight to the front over this trip, keeping them, all chasing with a well-rated 7m victory. Not too far away over the 2138m behind MISS RUBY SUNSHINE at his next run, he was just too far back last time. He strikes the right type of race to capitalise.
JUST ONE GOOD ONE (6) found the right race at Redcliffe last time out, finishing strongly over the closing stages to take a 5m victory. Slicing through the pack to score a tidy win over this trip 4 starts back, he hit the line in good style 2 runs back after easing back from gate 4. He won’t be far away.
MISTER COLE (5) will take some benefit from his latest run when returning from a freshen. Easing to find position, he found the line in nice order behind the handy STREET APPEAL. He has podium claims again.
JILLIBY JACKPOT (7) doesn’t receive many favours from this gate but will be further tightened following 2 runs back from a break. Chasing behind STREET APPEAL last time, he can chime in late.
SELECTIONS: ALBION ARK (4), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (6), MISTER COLE (5), JILLIBY JACKPOT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ALBION ARK (4) to win
CAUTIVAR (5) has been in great touch since arriving in Qld, yet to miss a trifecta spot in his 6 outings. Lining up for a hat-trick of victories, he was too sharp for them in the closing stages from gate 7 last time out. This is a step-up against stronger opposition, but he is flying.
DATTITUDE (1) completed a hat-trick of his own last time out when holding the front from gate 2 and keeping the speed on throughout to set a new PB benchmark of 1.53.7. That followed a strong win over the 2040m trip at Redcliffe and with the benefit of the inside gate, will be right in this.
ILLAWONG DREAAMTIME (3) might find this a little easier from the improved gate after doing his share of work from a wide gate behind SUBTLE DELIGHT last time out. With early speed in his arsenal, he can be sharper in this.
SPRING CAMPAIGN (7) was 1st up since returning to Qld last time out when making an error at release and was never a factor. With a slick trial to prepare and with the ability to work, look for improvement here.
SELECTIONS: CAUTIVAR (5), DATTITUDE (1), ILLAWONG DREAAMTIME (3), SPRING CAMPAIGN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CAUTIVAR (5) to win
SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) opened his Aus account here on Tues when working home over the top of them to claim victory over the 2647m trip, posting a 5m margin and setting a new AP track record in the process. Only 2m from the winner JEDDY R YA READY when 1st up since crossing the Tasman, he is a two-time winner from the mobile and looks set to turn up the heat here.
PATSDELIGHT (2) returns from a long break after a two-start Vic campaign that didn’t quite go to plan in some VicBred features. With 2 trials to open the pipes in preparation, the 2nd of those a nice effort from a 50m tape. A six-time winner here at The Creek, she is smart at her best.
IM THE COMMANDO (7) doesn’t have the best numbers next to his name, however he is a horse that looks to show his best when rolling in front and has been coming from big handicaps. Rolling forward he can be sharper here.
MELPARK MAGIC (4) was retired from the event here on Tues with a gear issue, with that run following a down the line effort after striking trouble in the run. With an easy trip he has claims.
SELECTIONS: SIR FAHRENHEIT (6), PATSDELIGHT (2), IM THE COMMANDO (7), MELPARK MAGIC (4)
IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7) was a beaten fav last start as she still looks to secure what would be her 1st Aus victory. Settling back in the field from the 20m tape, she was eating into the margin in the stretch but couldn’t quite pick up the leader and winner. Starting to be much more reliable in her gait, she can arrive.
BOURBONONTHEROCKS (5) sat in the 1x1 trail in the same race where ILLAWONG CHAMPERS was victorious when finishing mid-field. Arriving to score at Marburg 2 starts back under mobile conditions, she is a safe beginner that can be in the right position to issue a challenge in this.
MYRTLE BEACH (1) has the lone win to her name and while her numbers might not be flash, she can look to chime into this contest. With the manners to hold a forward spot early, she is a place hope.
DAY TOURER (6) is generally quick to fly the tapes and from the 20m impost here should be able to settle in a handy spot. 3rd here 2 starts back when making some late metres, he has podium claims.
SELECTIONS: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7), BOURBONONTHEROCKS (5), MYRTLE BEACH (1), DAY TOURER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7) to win
