RACE TWO

CHUMP CHOP (3) had a good look for the front over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back but was forced to race tough in the breeze. In for the fight he was only 3m from the winner, WECANONLYHOPE. Not suited last start from the 2nd line, he can fire out and look to dictate.

SIR BULSKI (4) will find this much easier than what he has been facing in recent starts. Kept fresh form his previous start, he was forced to retreat to find position last start when down the line behind LORD DIGBY. A Redcliffe winner 4 starts back, he looms large at his 1st look at the track.

MISTY JANE (1) doesn’t have the best numbers next to her name, yet she should secure a nice run in transit here and will find this a more suitable assignment to what she has been facing.

MOONLIGHT JACK (8) made a mess of the start last time out when down the line behind ALBION ARK. That followed a torrid trip in the breeze and saved up, can be chiming in late in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: CHUMP CHOP (3), SIR BULSKI (4), MISTY JANE (1), MOONLIGHT JACK (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Four Heats of the 2020 Goldstrike will take place with half of the combatants not having any stand start form in official race meetings. In the 1st heat, one of those is IMA REGAL JET (7) yet he is prepared by the Weidemann stable who excel at having horses step cleanly. Not suited last start when forced to cut the breeze, if he can weave an early passage, he might just have found the right conditions.

CHROMOZONE (3) shoots for the hat-trick after successive Redcliffe victories at both the 1780m and 2040m distances. Taking them all the way last start, this will be her 1st stand start in Aus, but she does bring a SS victory when prepared across the Tasman. Stepping cleanly, she will be a threat.

WECANONLYHOPE (5) is in nice touch at present with a top-3 at 4 of her past 5, including a Redcliffe victory 3 starts back. A six-time winner here at Marburg, with the right run she can chime in.

TICK OF THE CLOCK (6) backs up from Tues at AP and will be having his 1st look at both the track and the tapes. Beaten in red figures 3 starts back, he stays under notice in this contest.

SELECTIONS: IMA REGAL JET (7), CHROMOZONE (3), WECANONLYHOPE (5), TICK OF THE CLOCK (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

GHOST GUM (1)
was forced to do it the tough way last start when sent to the breeze from gate 4 and in a strong closing half, was still boxing on when 7m from the winner, holding on for 3rd. An all the way Redcliffe winner 4 starts back, he can be safely away and the old grey can give plenty of cheek.

ALI DOWNUNDER (6) makes his 1st appearance from the tapes and comes into this Series 2nd up from a long break. Sent to the post a red figure fav at his return in a Trot Rods 947m blitz, he was unable to match his quote and finished 11m from the winner. Looking better suited here, he can atone.

TARGARYEN HANOVER (7) is 1 from 1 here at Marburg and as the lone runner off the 2nd line will have some traffic to negotiate in the early stages. A nice 3rd behind CC JONES 2 starts back, he can chime in if avoiding the early grid-lock.

JIMMY NGA (5) has some of the best stand start credentials in the Series, yet will be 1st up at an official meeting in over 2 years. He has campaigned on the show circuit in that time and may just be needing the run.

SELECTIONS: GHOST GUM (1), ALI DOWNUNDER (6), TARGARYEN HANOVER (7), JIMMY NGA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GHOST GUM (1) to win

RACE FIVE

SHAZAM SHANNON (5) may show that he is having his 1st start from the tapes, however that doesn’t factor in show racing where he proved at the 2019 EKKA he loved the stand, going on to win the big final. Add to that he has found form, with a top-3 at his past 4 appearances, including successive wins at Armidale and Tamworth and he shapes as the one to beat in Heat Two.

TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (4) will be having his 1st race start from the tapes and comes into this with a nice trial where he skipped for a few strides as they were released, yet was able to quickly fill his gear and find stride. Taking some fitness from his 1st appearance from a break when locked away over the AP mile, he can challenge.

ONE OFF (7) will be 2nd up following 12 months on the sidelines and should take some benefit from his return run when finding the line nicely in the closing stages. 1 from 1 here at the track, he has podium hopes.

DONT CALL ME (1) looked to take them all the way over the AP 2138m 3 starts back when leading deep into the stretch and falling 2m short. Runner-up again at his next start, the start will be all-important for his chances.

SELECTIONS: SHAZAM SHANNON (5), TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (4), ONE OFF (7), DONT CALL ME (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SHAZAM SHANNON (5) to win

RACE SIX

Like so many in this series, AQUA CRUISER (3) will be having his 1st look at the tapes under race conditions, yet what he can bring is close to perfect record at the track with 3 wins and a narrow 2nd in his 4 outings. Fitter from 2 runs back from a break, the latest when 3m from LIFES BLACK at Redcliffe, if he can master the start, he will tough to stop.

OUR DELIGHT (2) has her 1st look at both Marburg and the tapes under race conditions. A Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when leading all the way over the 2040m, her latest run saw her buried away in transit as TIMELESS APPEAL and RUNFORTHEROSES broke away from the pack in a mares qualifier. Limiting the work, she can challenge.

CHINOOK WINDS (7) has been freshened since her last outing when locked away in the run but hitting the line in nice style in a mares qualifier over the 2138m trip. With the right trip she can feature.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (4) settled in the pocket trail over the AP sprint trip 2 starts back and chased for the bronze behind HANDSOME HERO. A 6-time winner here at the track, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: AQUA CRUISER (3), OUR DELIGHT (2), CHINOOK WINDS (7), TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: AQUA CRUISER (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

NEWMERELLA MOLLY (4)
will strip fitter from her latest appearance when returning from a long break. Only lightly raced, she secured the pocket trail at her return and chased gamely for the silver behind FLO RYDA. With all 3 of her wins coming here at this track, she can make it her 4th victory here.

DASHING HANNAH (7) has been to the track 3 times this campaign since returning from a break and a stable switch. Finding the front last start, she was too keen and faded out after choking off in the run. Banished to the trials, she trialled in great order to earn the return and despite the 2nd line, she stays under watch.

GETINANHANGON (2) was trying to protect the poles from gate 1 last start when he was put out of business and had his chances ended. Fitter following 3 runs back, he lands the gate to feature.

OUR CHAMPION (1) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and worked home soundly for the bronze over the Redcliffe 2040m trip. With the speed to avail himself to some early options, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: NEWMERELLA MOLLY (4), DASHING HANNAH (7), GETINANHANGON (2), OUR CHAMPION (1)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWMERELLA MOLLY (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

LETHAL STAR (1) has placed in 4 of 7 attempts here at the track and lands the gate to look for that 1st victory. In for the fight after facing the breeze over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back, she held on for 2nd behind CC JONES. Luckless last start after retreating and then hitting traffic, she can make her own luck here.

SIGNORINA JUJON (8) has the tough 2nd line gate to negotiate as she searches for her 1st victory this campaign. Taken back form gate 5 last start over the AP 2138m trip, she searched for short-cuts when mid-field to the gun filly PELOSI. Hitting the line nicely the start prior, she is right in the fight.

HALF MOON BEACH (2) took on the one lap scamper of the Trot Rods at Redcliffe last start and was wide off the track trying to get forward. Doing all the work in the run, it was a top run in defeat when nabbed on the line. If he can find the pegs, he will take some stitching.

DARBY BRIGHTS (3) will have her 1st look at the Marburg surface and comes into the contest following her latest outing when 6m in arrears of the winner. Settling close enough, she is a place hope.

SELECTIONS: LETHAL STAR (1), SIGNORINA JUJON (8), HALF MOON BEACH (2), DARBY BRIGHTS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-8
