RACE TWO

ILLUMINOSCITY (1) has been to the track on 4 occasions, showing steady improvement along the way. Chasing hard when 3rd, albeit a long way off the 1st two placings, it was a sound effort after retreating from gate 5 in the early stages. Showing gate speed here 3 starts back, she can open the account in this.

ILLBEWATCHING (5) wasn’t aided with a tyre issue last start in the same race that ILLUMINOSCITY grabbed 3rd when trailing them in when BETTERTHANDIAMONDS scored in a slick mile. Fading in the closing stages here 2 starts back when leading them up, his 2nd here 3 starts back is enough to see him challenge here.

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (4) has a lone placing in her 9 career starts and last start struck a little bit of trouble. Forced to do it the tough way at Marburg 2 starts back, she is in the mix from this alley.

CHILI ROCKS (3) is a 3YO filly on debut for the astute Darren Weeks stable. The 1st foal of the handy race mare All Starzzz Shark by Pet Rock, she stays under notice and a market watch.

SELECTIONS: ILLUMINOSCITY (1), ILLBEWATCHING (5), WESTERN SHOWGIRL (4), CHILI ROCKS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ILLUMINOSCITY (1) to win

RACE THREE

FOUR FOR FOUR (3) has placed in 4 of her 8 outings this term, the latest when the best of the rest behind the big winner BETTERTHANDIAMONDS. Striking trouble that ended her day 2 starts back, she grabbed the silver behind SARIE MARAIS 3 starts back. With early speed, this looks her chance to open the win account.

TALENT IN SPADES (1) will take benefit from her latest outing when 1st up for the season and following a stable switch during her break. Eased into the 1x1 trail last start she found them a bit too slick 1st up behind JUST ONE GOOD ONE. Back to maiden company from this gate, she can challenge.

MELTON MAX GENTLE (5) has placed at his past 2, the latest when chasing for the silver at Marburg over the 1850m. The wide gate hurts but with further experience, he can chime in here.

QUALITY TIME (8) was sent to the breeze here 2 starts back when fighting hard to hold on for the silver when 8m in arrears. Mid-field last start, he can work through early and is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: FOUR FOR FOUR (3), TALENT IN SPADES (1), MELTON MAX GENTLE (5), QUALITY TIME (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FOUR FOR FOUR (3) to win

RACE FOUR

GUY LOOKS GOOD (4)
will take further benefit from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a break. Angled to the pegs for the short-cuts from a 2nd line gate, he was stuck in traffic behind a tiring runner and could have been closer with better luck. He strikes a winnable contest here.

LUXURY LAD (7) made the best start possible to his career when scoring on debut from gate 1 here last time out. Holding the pocket trail from gate 1, he sprinted sharply when the passing lane presented to score in impressive style. The gate is a little tricky, but if sighting space with track to play with, he can throw down the challenge again.

GRETELS GIRL (3) will take benefit from her race debut when chasing home behind LUXURY LAD. Making an error at the 1st turn, she made up good ground once re-setting. With the experience she can be sharper this time.

BELLA GODIVA (8) will take benefit from her latest appearance when 2nd up from a break. With a top-3 in 5 of her 7 outings here at the triangle, she can follow through early to feature.

SELECTIONS: GUY LOOKS GOOD (4), LUXURY LAD (7), GRETELS GIRL (3), BELLA GODIVA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GUY LOOKS GOOD (4) to win

RACE FIVE

JEWEL OF PEAK (1) capitalised on the inside advantage at Marburg last start when holding them all wide and keeping the speed on throughout to cruise home for a 6m winning margin. They were a bit sharp in a mares qualifier 2 starts back and from the ace has the options to go back-to-back.

A RAINBOW DIAMOND (2) has had 2 runs back from a break and should be further tightened following the latest outing when gunned down in the closing stages after setting the speed from gate 4. Charging along the inside when resuming to grab the silver, she is right in the fight from this alley.

TULHURST KATE (7) wasn’t suited last start from a wide gate and forced to retreat in the early stages. Holding on for 2nd to CC JONES from the pocket trail the start prior, she will be probing for gaps.

SUKI DAYO (3) was snagged back from a wide gate last start over the AP mile and was sound to the line against the tempo in a much stronger contest. Back to the triangle against this line-up, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: JEWEL OF PEAK (1), A RAINBOW DIAMOND (2), TULHURST KATE (7), SUKI DAYO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JEWEL OF PEAK (1) to win

RACE SIX

TARGARYEN HANOVER (1) progressed to the Goldstrike Final at Marburg following a win over the subsequent Final winner GHOST GUM when darting through a tiny gap up the pegs. Making a mess of the start in the Final, he lands the options here and with the right trip looks set to bounce back.

JINGLES BROMAC (3) put in a huge effort in defeat here 3 starts back when making an early error. Atoning for that mishap when rolling to the breeze and proving too strong in holding on for a narrow victory, he was beaten by the 2nd line last start. From the gate he looks set to ask the questions.

CORINDHAP CREEK (4) has built a tidy record with 3 wins and 2 minors in 7 outings. Taken back early from gate 5 here last start when resuming from a spell, he was too slick for them in cruising over the top to a 5m victory. He is in the mix.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (8) arrived in the closing strides to score a Trot Rods 947m win here 3 starts back. Hitting the line in good order last start when grabbing the silver, he can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: TARGARYEN HANOVER (1), JINGLES BROMAC (3), CORINDHAP CREEK (4), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TARGARYEN HANOVER (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

TEARAWAY DIAMOND (2) was sent to the post in red figures last start over the Marburg sprint trip from a 2nd line gate. With the speed dictated in front, he was always facing a task when wide off the track and chasing to grab 3rd. Not too far behind the smart filly MISS RUBY SUNSHINE 2 starts back, he can be closer to the action to arrive here.

NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (1) showed early speed to get across from the three-hole and take control over the sprint trip here 2 starts back. Walking them and turning it into a last stanza sizzle, she had 5m to spare. Not suited from gate 7 over the AP mile last start when forced to retreat, she looms a big threat here.

AMAYA BECOMES (8) walked straight to the front here last start over the 2040m and once dictating held off a late challenge from subsequent winner ALI DOWNUNDER. The gate hurts but she can chime in late.

PACIFIC COIN (4) was forced to roll the sleeves in the breeze last start at Marburg and was in for the fight when holding on for the silver. A tidy 3rd behind ETERNAL PROMISE here 3 starts back, he can place.

SELECTIONS: TEARAWAY DIAMOND (2), NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (1), AMAYA BECOMES (8), PACIFIC COIN (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

LISA LINCOLN (5) is approaching 12 months without a win however she may just have found the right conditions to turn that around here. Forced to race tough in the breeze in a strong mares event last time out, it followed a sound effort from the 2nd line behind ANYCHANCE. With slick moves off the gate, she can look to dictate.

COMIGAL (8) took on a Trot Rods last start when starting from the widest gate and then forced even wider to avoid trouble. Chasing hard it was a sharp run under the circumstances to be within 5m of the winner. Hitting the line strongly the start prior, she can throw down a challenge in this.

RANFURLY RULZ (1) hasn’t shown much hustle in tight for a while, but might need to be stoked up here to protect the poles. Forced to grind it out last start, he has podium claims.

MACHIN OUT (3) was a winner here 3 starts back when able to find the breeze and prove too strong in the closing stages to hold on for a half-head victory. Too far back last start, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: LISA LINCOLN (5), COMIAGAL (8), RANFURLY RULZ (1), MACHIN OUT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LISA LINCOLN (5) to win

RACE NINE

COLOMBIAN GOLD (4) started inside the 2nd line last start in a strong mares race and when PELOSI galloped in front of her at release, she was carted back through the field. Never having a clear shot at them, it was a tidy effort. Doing plenty of work over the 2040m the start prior, she can look to take control here with her early speed.

KATNISS (1) was 1st to the pegs last start prior to releasing and chased gamely when 8m from the in-form ETERNAL PROMISE. Hitting the line nicely the start prior over her less preferred middle distance, she has the speed to choose who the front is released to and with those options can challenge.

MONTANA CHIEF (7) took on a 2nd division band 5 last start when eased back from gate 5 to find position. Hitting the line with gusto to grab the silver, he can get an easy trip here to be looking for space in the stretch.

LETTERKENNY BOY (3) was taken back from gate 6 last time out when making his Qld debut over the AP 2138m trip. Working home in nice style to grab the silver, he can settle handy here to feature.

SELECTIONS: COLOMBIAN GOLD (4), KATNISS (1), MONTANA CHIEF (7), LETTERKENNY BOY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-7
