RACE TWO

CHUMP CHOP (5) is in nice touch, finishing in the money at 4 of his 5 starts this campaign, including a win 2 starts back when showing some gristle to sit in the breeze and pull clear to a 6m victory. Starting fav here on Sun night, he looked unlucky when carted up the track and only beaten an eyelash. He gets his chance to strike back.

PERFECT FEELING (2) was the conqueror of CHUMP CHOP last start when taking them all the way in holding on for the narrowest of victories in a new career PB. That followed 3 successive 2nds where he was gunned down on each occasion. With the confidence, he can give them something to chase.

DANCING IN MANOLOS (1) tried to take them all the way over the 2040m last start and despite striking some trouble was only 7m away. With an easy trip, she can be ready to strike in the stretch.

ROCKA BELLA (7) has the lone win to her name and although that doesn’t look like changing from this gate, she will get the right trip to make a closing play for some place money.

SELECTIONS: CHUMP CHOP (5), PERFECT FEELING (2), DANCING IN MANOLOS (1), ROCKA BELLA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-5-7

RACE THREE

MIND OF MY OWN (5)
looks to have found the right type of contest here, having been meeting some stronger opponents in recent starts. Sent to the front over the AP mile and taking them all the way 3 starts back, she was then a close 2nd. Tightened from her latest appearance when 1st up in 7 weeks, if she can handle the triangle, she can handle this assignment.

CHILI ROCKS (3) will take good benefit and further experience from her latest outing, closing out in nice style as the best of the chasing pack behind the big winner TOANUI SPIRIT. Running some nice closing splits in that effort after being buried in transit from inside the 2nd line, she can challenge.

SIR JUJON (6) was sent to the post as fav last start but soon had his chances ended when making an error. Forced to do it the tough way the start prior when 8m away, he might need to work again.

GRETELS GIRL (2) is slowly putting it together and last start when 3rd up in her career, chased hard in holding on for the bronze behind TOANUI SPIRIT. Settling close to the action she can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: MIND OF MY OWN (5), CHILI ROCKS (3), SIR JUJON (6), GRETELS GIRL (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MIND OF MY OWN (5) to win

RACE FOUR

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (1)
hasn’t been far away of late, his latest effort when chasing home in a qualifier to grab the bronze behind SHERIFF JUJON over the 2138m. Only 4m away the start prior when working home wide off the track, he lands all he favours from the ace and gets his chance.

NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (9) has 2 wins and a narrow 2nd in her past 4 starts, each of those coming when setting the tempo out in front. Controlling it last start with a steady opening 800m, she really dialled it up in running some smart closing splits. She will be chasing here to issue the challenge.

FOREVER ROCKING (4) took on a mares race last start from inside the 2nd line when locked away in the run. Only 4m away, she could have been closer if the gaps arrived sooner. She won’t be far away.

TASCOTT LADY (7) rolled forward from gate 5 last start and did it the tough way when not too far behind the winner A RAINBOW DIAMOND. With a cosy trip on offer, she can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: TOO GOOD FOR YOU (1), NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (9), FOREVER ROCKING (4), TASCOTT LADY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TOO GOOD FOR YOU (1) to win

RACE FIVE

PATCHWORK JET (5)
will need a few factors to fall his way here, but in an open looking contest, he can secure successive victories. Settling back in the pack over the sprint trip here last start, he was hitting the line in good order to arrive for the prize. Hanging tough the start prior, he can make career start 50 memorable.

JINGLES BROMAC (8) was a winner here 4 starts back when sent to the breeze over the 2040m from gate 6, holding on to score a narrow victory. Things haven’t gone to plan at his last couple of starts, making errors that have ended his chances. If the manners are sorted, this race is well within reach.

MELTON MAX GENTLE (1) was working towards a maiden breaking win after 3 successive placings and franked that when opening the account last start. With the early options, he has podium claims.

OCEANSIDE (2) is yet to breakthrough, yet has been showing good improvement. Runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when 5m from CANNAN over the 2040m, he is right in the fight in this.

SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (5), JINGLES BROMAC (8), MELTON MAX GENTLE (1), OCEANSIDE (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

SUKI DAYO (6) lines up for the hat-trick after wins at the 1780m and then the 2040m last start. Easing back from the five-hole to find position last time, she had too much in reserve in the closing stages to arrive for a strong win. A smart winner the start prior, the gate hurts but she can still arrive in this.

MONTEREY JACK (9) will take good benefit from his return to the track here last week when 1st up in 9 months. Starting from the 2nd line he worked home strongly in the closing stages to arrive on the wire to claim a stylish half-head victory. Despite the tough gate, the form of his return can see him challenge.

JEWEL OF PEAK (1) was a Marburg winner when taking them all the way at Marburg and running them along at a smart clip. Runner-up in both runs since, from the gate she will be right in the fight.

BRIGHTON PRINCE (2) will take some benefit from his latest outing when returning after a 5-week gaps between outings. Too tough here 2 starts back, he won’t be too far away.

SELECTIONS: SUKI DAYO (6), MONTEREY JACK (9), JEWEL OF PEAK (1), BRIGHTON PRINCE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-9

RACE SEVEN

TAYLOR HOOD (4)
should be shooting for a hat-trick of victories, however after crossing the line 1st here 2 starts back, he lost the verdict in the stewards room. Atoning for that disappointment last start when pressing forward to take control from gate 5 and taking them all the way, he can look to repeat that here.

ARBIT MAJOR (9) landed the stewards decision over TAYLOR HOOD here 3 starts back and followed that with the outright decision when cruising home to a comfortable win from gate 6 against easier opponents. A half-head away last start up the passing lane, he will be working home late here.

LONESTAR LAD (7) steps out for the Mark McNee team for the 1st time after arriving in Qld. Arriving a 3-time winner in just 7 starts, he will need a slice of luck here, but can be looking to find space here.

CHINOOK WINDS (1) doesn’t have the greatest numbers next to her name, but comes up with the right gate to get the good trip here. Working in the run last start in a mares qualifier, she is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: TAYLOR HOOD (4), ARBIT MAJOR (9), LONESTAR LAD (7), CHINOOK WINDS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TAYLOR HOOD (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

KAPOW SHANNON (3) features in a stable switch and will line up for Nathan Dawson for the 1st time. Freshened since his last appearance, he has been to the trials for the new barn where he put in a smart hit-out over the 1780m. With the speed off the arm, he can land a blow 1st up.

CONDAFEW (5) faced his customary wide gate last start when easing from gate 5 over the AP mile. Settling well back in the pack, he was charging home to get within 3m of the winner SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE. Not too far away 2 starts back behind SO KOOL MASTER, look for him charging.

JUSTA DALE (9) took on a qualifier last start when sitting in the trail and probing for a gap when 7m in arrears of SHERIFF JUJON. He only has the 1 win here at the triangle in 33 attempts, yet he can chime in.

BET IM SPECIAL (7) eased back from gate 6 over the AP mile last time out yet was hitting the line in nice order when 6m from the winner DATTITUDE. With the cosy trip, he will be probing for the gaps.

SELECTIONS: KAPOW SHANNON (3), CONDAFEW (5), JUSTA DALE (9), BET IM SPECIAL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KAPOW SHANNON (3) to win

RACE NINE

HEART OF COOPER (7) took on the AP 2138m trip last start from gate 5 when rolling forward he was left to do it the tough way in the breeze. Holding on for the bronze behind the passing lane winner when 5m in arrears, he should be further tightened after being 2nd up from a freshen. Just needs the lane with momentum.

MONTANA CHIEF (9) found the 1x1 trail from gate 8 last start over this trip and saved for the closing shot had too many arrows in the quiver to arrive for a 1m victory. Hitting the line in nice style the start prior when 3m from COLOMBIAN GOLD, if the tempo is on, look for him charging late.

BEACH GODDESS (8) rolled to position outside the leader last start and with an even tempo up front, faded in the closing stages. Nott too far away, if she can get the right run in transit, she can feature.

THERESACHANCE (1) led them up from gate 2 last start over this trip and with some even panels, couldn’t see it out. With early speed, he will be gripping on again in this.

SELECTIONS: HEART OF COOPER (7), MONTANA CHIEF (9), BEACH GODDESS (8), THERESACHANCE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HEART OF COOPER (7) to win
