RACE TWO

LETHAL PROMISE (1) will need to be hustled off the gate to protect the inside line, but with enough firepower in the short run to the turn from the 2040m start point, can keep them wide and then dictate terms. Placed at each of his past 5 starts since his last win, his run on Sat in a 2nd division qualifier was a nice effort. This looks his.

PITTSWORTH MAN (5) closed out strongly over the 2138m trip 4 starts back to land the prize and followed that with a 5m margin to COURAGEOUS LEO. He chased hard last start when claiming the silver behind TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE and will be steaming home again.

RUFFALO (10) shoots for a hat-trick after wins at Marburg and here last start when taking the pocket trail and using the passing lane to arrive for the win. He will need some factors to go his way but has claims.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (3) stays under notice at his 1st outing since June and just 2nd start since joining the Craig Cross team. He has been running in claiming races and 3 starts back took on a G3 FFA. He wasn’t asked for much in a recent trial, but must be respected.

SELECTIONS: LETHAL PROMISE (1), PITTSWORTH MAN (5), RUFFALO (10), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

ROCKNROLL DUDE (9) found his race 2 starts back at AP and from the running line over the 2138m finished over the top to score. Last start he was pitted against much stronger opponents and back to this grade can look to get the job done.

SPLASH OF GOLD (6) has the tough gate to negotiate yet her Redcliffe record is solid and she has been in the top 3 at 6 of her past 7. Pressing on to find the front here last start she was grabbed late by RUFFALO off her back.

TOOK YOUR TIME (10) has been freshened since his last outing when making an error at the start that sees him banished to the outside. His win 2 starts back was a stylish effort when sent forward from the 2nd line to the breeze and with even luck can feature.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL DUDE (9), SPLASH OF GOLD (6), TOOK YOUR TIME (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL DUDE (9) to win

RACE FOUR

REGAL ROCK (10)
looked to take them all the way at AP last start from gate 1 and after setting an even tempo was grabbed in the closing stages by MERRYMACH who had the cosy trip. A nice winner at Marburg 3 starts back, he has no favours from the gate but this looks well within reach.

KIWI SOLDIER (2) was 1st up from a break last time out and having his 1st start since joining the Dan Russell barn and it was an encouraging return. Pressing on to find the pegs off gate 4 he was fighting to the line when 4m from the winner CHANG. Lighting the lamps here he will be gripping to the front.

SUBTLE SURPRISE (1) will take good benefit from her debut last week when mid-field after starting from gate 4. With the experience from that and moving to the peg-line draw here she can chime into the money.

WAVEDANCER (3) found the pegs last start before releasing for the trail and then finishing 3m from the winner in a blanket finish. Grabbed late when mid-field to TELLELLA he can finish in the exotics.

SELECTIONS: REGAL ROCK (10), KIWI SOLDIER (2), SUBTLE SURPRISE (1), WAVEDANCER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: REGAL ROCK (10) to win

RACE FIVE

MEANT TO BE ME (3) was sent straight to the pegs here 4 starts back when having her 1st outing for Gary Gerard and in control was never in danger. Her 3 runs since have been from wide gates where the effort has been sound including a 5m 3rd to MICKEE CULLEN. Back to a good gate she gets her chance.

CHEYENNE WARRIOR (2) worked across from gate 4 last start but didn’t have the pace to get to the pegs and was forced to work in the run outside the leader. Fighting hard he couldn’t challenge when holding 3rd. He can have a shot here and if finding the pegs can be right in the fight.

BUKTHSYSTEM (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start and buried in the run was taking good ground off the leader once sighting open space. With even luck from the gate he won’t be far away in this.

MODERN THOUGHT (7) will need some luck from the gate as she looks to be buried in the run. She chased valiantly from the pocket trail last start when 3rd to HERES MY NUMBER and will be probing for an opening.

SELECTIONS: MEANT TO BE ME (3), CHEYENNE WARRIOR (2), BUKTHSYSTEM (4), MODERN THOUGHT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MEANT TO BE ME (3) to win

RACE SIX

MY PRECIOUS YANKEE (1)
has the 30m lift against his opponents and a normally safe beginner he can look to step to the front and control the tempo. 1st up after a stable change and a break he took on a mobile event when buried in the run and never a factor. Back to the tapes suits and he will be gripping on.

HIGH CLOUD LASS (4) pressed ahead from the mobile last start and was able to angle behind the leader and hold the silver behind the big winner GHENT. All her wins have been from the tapes and with her normal safe start can be in the firing line early and issue a challenge.

NO TRANSACTIONS (5) didn’t have much luck here last week when jostling for a spot and then went off stride which ended his chances. Too far back in the pack 2 starts back he was a good winner 3 back and has claims again.

MISS INVASION (6) has been to the trials twice since her latest race appearance to iron out some issues. Her latest trial was a tidy effort and she can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: MY PRECIOUS YANKEE (1), HIGH CLOUD LASS (4), NO TRANSACTIONS (5), MISS INVASION (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MY PRECIOUS YANKEE (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

IRISHTOWN BABE (5) has a wide gate to overcome yet strikes a very open contest and might just find this a touch easier than what she has been meeting. Put a line through her latest run when she made a mess of the start, this is the type of race that she can feature in.

REDDY FIRE (8) held the front off gate 1 at Marburg 2 starts back and looked to take them all the way when grabbed in the closing stages by RUFFALO. He did some early work last start before fading of behind RUHTREBO. With even luck in transit he can bob-up in this line-up.

COAST WARNING (1) hasn’t been too far away of late and should appreciate the gate after starting from the 2nd line at his past 4 in succession. Only 6m away after working in the run 2 starts back, he will have the options.

CHEVALS DIAMOND (7) will be sweating on the 1 looking for an all the way effort and if that scenario eventuates, he will be coiled and ready to strike when the passing lane presents.

SELECTIONS: IRISHTOWN BABE (5), REDDY FIRE (8), COAST WARNING (1), CHEVALS DIAMOND (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

CHERRYS THE BEST (4)
will find this easier than the Triad Final where she was stuck in traffic and while never a winning hope could have been a lot closer than where she did finish. That followed a nice win from gate 7 and she looks to get every hope in this.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (8) was runner-up at his 1st 2 career starts with his debut a luckless effort when looming up to take the prize but locking wheels. Last start as a short priced fav he was sent straight to the front and once in control was a very easy winner. Despite the gate he is a big danger.

JUST WON MORE (5) has struggled to land a gate in his career but does have good speed off the arm to get into the contest early. He found ESCALERA to sharp last start and can be sharper here.

KAMEKONA (2) is a Mr Feelgood gelding on debut for Debra Belford out of the 12-win mare Jenzajet. His trials have been sound and rom a handy alley can lob in the exotics.

SELECTIONS: CHERRYS THE BEST (4), MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (8), JUST WON MORE (5), KAMEKONA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CHERRYS THE BEST (4) to win
