RACE TWO

OUR LITTLE DIGGER (2) made the most of an improved alley last start to find the pegs from gate 4 and then releasing the speed. Taking his shot up the passing lane he arrived to land victory by a neck. That followed a good effort at Redcliffe when 3m from AQUA MISS and the gate suits here.

AQUA MISS (8) will need a slice of luck from this alley as she looks n danger of being buried away. Her win 2 starts back at Redcliffe was strong when attacking the line strongly from a long way back. Fighting gamely in mares company last start for 3rd, if sighting space in time, she can swoop hard.

COOL SCOOTER (9) found the running line from gate 4 here 2 starts back over this trip and finished best to defeat KEY LARGO. He couldn’t work into it last time from gate 12 but will be better suited here.

MACHIN OUT (4) was forced the snag back last start from gate 6 and was too far back when down the line behind OUR LITTLE DIGGER. Back to the mile he can get forward and be around the money.

SELECTIONS: OUR LITTLE DIGGER (2), AQUA MISS (8), COOL SCOOTER (9), MACHIN OUT (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-4-8-9

RACE THREE

TRAIN WRECK (10) has the tricky gate to overcome here, but with even tempo in the run he can be steaming home in the closing stages. From the 2nd line last start he finished mid-field over the 2138m and the start prior was 3rd to PROFICIENT. Back to the mile is a big plus here.

TOMMY UNDER FIRE (7) opened his Qld account in good style last week when forging clear to take an 11m victory in a new career benchmark. That had followed a tough effort when forced to work home wide off the track, with his run 3 starts back full of merit. The gate hurts but he can challenge.

STAR OF MONTANA (6) will find this easier than his past 2 where he has taken on the SE and Qld Derbies. A winner of a Rising Stars Final 2 starts back, finding position cheaply are key to his chances.

RENEE DALE (3) was locked away on the pegs last start in a mares qualifier and was sound to the line when mid-field. Fitter following 2 runs back from a break, she can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: TRAIN WRECK (10), TOMMY UNDER FIRE (7), STAR OF MONTANA (6), RENEE DALE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TRAIN WRECK (10) each-way

RACE FOUR

CASINO TOMMY (4)
will aim up for a hat-trick of claiming wins after striking over the Redcliffe 2040m and then the mile here last start. Rolling forward to the breeze from gate 7 last start, he then pushed on to the lead and was too strong in scoring in PB time. He looks to have their measure again.

RORY MACH (3) is never far from the action in these claiming races and has been runner-up to CASINO TOMMY at each of the past 2 starts. From the 1x1 trail last start, he couldn’t reel in the winner when 2m in arrears. From the gate he will settle handy and attempt to challenge.

ONE WISE MAN (7) has been in the money at his past 6 starts, including a win here 4 starts back when finishing best over the 2138m trip to score in good style. Fighting hard last start, he will be thereabouts again here.

OUR MELS DREAM (5) was 6m from CASINO TOMMY last start after trying to work into the contest in the closing stages. Beaten a similar margin 2 starts back, he will be trying to limit the workload.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (4), RORY MACH (3), ONE WISE MAN (7), OUR MELS DREAM (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CASINO TOMMY (4) to win

RACE FIVE

TIN ROOF RAIDER (4) makes his Qld debut for Chantal Turpin and faces a sharp class drop for his 1st assignment. Racing in the recent VicBred Series, his run had merit when angled to the pegs off the 2nd line and chasing home RACKEMUP TIGERPIE. Luckless last start, he can start with a bang.

TEARAWAY DIAMOND (7) was sent to the breeze last start from the 2nd line and throwing down the heat in the run packed too many bullets to score a 5m victory Put a line through his run 2 back when making an error, he can get forward again here and will be right in the fight.

CC JONES (5) was a winner over the 2138m here 4 starts back when arriving in time after closing out strongly off the 2nd line. Working home strongly when 3m in arrears last start, he will be in the mix.

WEE JIMMY (6) claimed an Aspirational race 2 starts back when finishing best from a wide gate to claim a solid victory. Too far back last start after retreating from gate 7, he can be sharper here.

SELECTIONS: TIN ROOF RAIDER (4), TEARAWAY DIAMIND (7), CC JONES (5), WEE JIMMY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TIN ROOF RAIDER (4) to win

RACE SIX

OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (7) started from the 2nd line last start when attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to be 8m from the winner BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO. Lighting the lamps, the start prior over this trip, he was collared after setting a slick tempo. The small field suits and he can charge late.

BRADS LUCK (3) has been responsible for some big runs since campaigning in Qld, the latest when racing tough in the breeze and fighting hard to take the silver when 4m from IAMBOOGIE on Tues in a race much tougher than this. Not far from TENNYSON BROMAC 3 back, this is well within reach.

THE GOLDEN CROSS (4) chased home in a qualifier last start when mid-field behind THATSWHATISAID. A tidy 3rd here 3 starts back when buried away on the pegs, he has claims.

EARL JUJON (2) will appreciate the good gate in this small field and finding the pegs 1st can then get the economical run in transit. Not suited last start when snagging back from gate 7, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (7), BRADS LUCK (3), THE GOLDEN CROSS (4), EARL JUJON (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

CHANCELESS CENTURY (3) features in a stable change and will step out for Chantal Turpin for the 1st time. He did his share of work last start when sent forward to eventually find the breeze at Redcliffe and faded as they swung for home. A tough 3rd here 3 starts back, he can look to capitalise here.

BILLBOARD BONNIE (1) has been runner-u pat both her Qld starts, the latest as a beaten fav here on Tues. Finding the 1x1 trail she couldn’t reel in the leader and winner KWASII when finishing 5m in arrears. Forced to race tough here 2 starts back, she should enjoy a great trip from this gate.

CROWN MOJO (7) had trialled in good order for his debut and off the back of that started a red figure fav 1st up. Striking trouble his race was done early. With a smaller field and a front-line gate, look for a sharper effort here.

THE SECOND CHANCE (4) will make his debut for Peter Donohoe and is a well-bred gelding by the Champion sire Bettors Delight. With a nice trial to prepare, he stays under notice 1st up.

SELECTIONS: CHANCELESS CENTURY (3), BILLBOARD BONNIE (1), CROWN MOJO (7), THE SECOND CHANCE (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

LORD DIGBY (4) will look to stay undefeated after wins at both career starts to date, both in strong time here at AP and also at Redcliffe. Angled to the inside last start, he arrived via the passing lane for a smart win and in the small field can look for the threepeat.

GOOD AS IT GETS (6) was game in finishing with the silver behind MISTERY ROAD last start after doing some early work and then hitting the line in good order. In a solid season where he has been in the top-three at 7 of 12 appearances, he will throw down a strong challenge here.

JEWEL OF PEAK (3) just can’t crack that elusive win but has shown it won’t be far away after placing at her past 3 starts. In for the fight here on Tues after forced to face the breeze, she will be in the mix again.

Both first starters have trialled well and come out of the same trial behind a pair of experienced performers. The cheekily named WHERES SEGGY (1) fought on gamely in that hit-out and looks to have ability, as does MIKE ORR (2) who beat home the former in that hit-out but did have the easier trip.

SELECTIONS: LORD DIGBY (4), GOOD AS IT GETS (6), JEWEL OF PEAK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LORD DIGBY (4) to win
