RACE TWO

WITH AUTHORITY (1) made the most of conditions to claim a mid-week event here 4 starts back over the mile when taking them all the way. Best of the rest behind ONE HELL OF A RIDE at his next start, he was charging hard last start. With the cosy sit on offer, he can take the snipers shot.

SCOOB OPERATOR (8) retreated from gate 7 last start when attacking the line hard from a long way back to be within a half-head of victory. If he does manage the pocket trail, he becomes a big threat.

IAMBOOGIE (5) is an electric beginner and from the centre of the line can look to fire out of the Hilux for the lamp lighting duties. Only 2.5m in arrears last start over the 2138m, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: WITH AUTHORITY (1), SCOOB OPERATOR (8), IAMBOOGIE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SCOOB OPERATOR (8) to place

RACE THREE

ROYAL STORY (11) won’t have any luxury from the tough gate here yet she is in great touch, finishing as the runner-up at her past 3 starts. Pressing on to find the front last start, the tempo was strong over the 2138m when beaten a half-neck. Back to mares only she can overcome the gate.

MELANNA BEACH (2) was rewarded for her efforts here last week when taking out a mares qualifier and finishing best to claim a 3m victory. A beaten fav 2 starts back when too keen in the run, she can get to the pegs here and if able to pinch a panel will give them plenty to chase.

ROCKING (6) had the perfect trip in a small field here 3 starts back and arrived right on the wire to edge out ELLE YEAH. Placed in both runs since to that same in-form mare, this is within reach.

VINTAGE DREAM (1) claimed a mares qualifier here 2 starts back when finishing best after running a sharp closing 800m. Forget her last start when striking trouble, with a soft trip she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL STORY (11), MELANNA BEACH (2), ROCKING (6), VINTAGE DREAM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL STORY (11) to win

RACE FOUR

ROYAL LINCOLN (7)
should appreciate this type of contest after meeting much tougher races in recent starts. On Tues he settled back in the pack from gate 11 and worked home in good order when 7m away. 3rd to BILL HALEY in the 4YO Championship 4 starts back, he can overcome the gate.

GRIZZLY MONTANA (1) pressed on to find the front at Redcliffe last start and once in control was able to dictate and get home in good order to claim a half-head victory. His form leading into that had been sound from some tough gates and with the good alley here can look to capitalise.

ELMAUR JOY (6) is racing in consistent touch and added another minor to her tally last start to make it a top-three at 7 of her past 9. Setting a solid tempo, she was nabbed late and has claims in this.

KARINYA MULLY (11) will need to overcome the 2nd line alley but with the right run in transit he can be chiming in late. Buried away his past 2 and relying on luck, he won’t be far away here.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL LINCOLN (7), GRIZZLY MONTANA (1), ELMAUR JOY (6), KARINYA MULLY (11)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL LINCOLN (7) to win

RACE FIVE

STOMPEM (9) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when grabbed right on the line. Setting the speed from gate 2 he led everywhere bar where it counted as VASARI grabbed a half-head victory. Using the passing lane to get within a half-neck of THE BUS 2 starts back, he can arrive.

OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (1) sat back to watch the speed over the 2138m here 2 starts back and with the right move sailed home to an easy victory. From this gate last start he was within 2m the winner and with a cosy trip on offer once again, look for him making the closing play.

LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (5) led the one wide line last start but was never up outside the leader when finishing a 10m 4th to BEE GEES BANDIT. Finding cover in the run, he can be finishing hard in this.

STORMONT STAR (8) heads north as a last start Penrith winner when pressing on to the front and leading throughout in sharp time. Needing some luck, he will get an economical trip and can place.

SELECTIONS: STOMPEM (9), OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (1), LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (5), STORMONT STAR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-8-9

RACE SIX

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8) landed gate 10 last start and finding running line position was attacking the line strongly to get within a flared nostril of the win behind LEOS BEST. That was his 1st run since the BLACKS A FAKE where he didn’t have that much luck and with the early options here can arrive.

LEOS BEST (5) settled in the running line one position in advance of NORTHVIEW HUSTLER last week and making the closing sprint was able to claim the narrow margin. Attacking the line strongly from well back here 2 starts back, he has found his form and despite a sticky gate will challenge hard.

THE SHADY ONE (2) was just a little too far back last start when trying to work home in the closing stages. Only beaten a neck here 2 starts back, if he can settle close, he can chime in with his sprint.

ALLELUIA (4) is never far from the action and from this gate will be in the mix once again. Sent to the breeze last start, he was in for the fight when a 4m 2nd to MAJOR CAM and will be thereabouts here.

SELECTIONS: NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8), LEOS BEST (5), THE SHADY ONE (2), ALLELUIA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

With his hoof firmly on the ‘til, he may not have the best gate, but this looks a race where THE ANNOUNCER (7) can secure a well-deserved victory. 3 starts back he charged home when nothing else from the rear made ground and then last start hit the line with venom to be a half-neck away. With even luck, tonight can be the night.

THE GOLDEN CROSS (1) went around at Redcliffe on Wed night from gate 10 when the race was dictated from the front and he was never in the contest, finishing mid-field in behind them. His previous form was handy against stronger types and with the gate will get his chance to capitalise.

BRADS LUCK (4) was soon locked away from inside the 2nd line last start and never saw space when 9m from RUTHLESS ARMBRO. Placed in his previous 2, with the right trip this looks within reach.

ITSADANCEOFF (8) settled in the pocket trail over this trip last start when finishing 8m from the winner TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE. With another economical trip on offer, he will be ready to offer.

SELECTIONS: THE ANNOUNCER (7), THE GOLDEN CROSS (1), BRADS LUCK (4), ITSADANCEOFF (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE ANNOUNCER (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

in a tricky mares race to line up, WRITE ABOUT LEXY (5) might just have enough class to edge them out in this. From inside the 2nd line last start, she ended up buried in transit before hitting the line in good fashion. A smart all the way winner 3 starts back before being beaten an eyelash 2 starts back, this could be her chance.

IMA BLACK BEAUTY (9) is on the back-up from Thursday at Redcliffe where she looked well placed to capitalise. Landing he pocket trail from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back, she looked to the passing lane but just missed in taking the closing shot behind HEZ RAZOR SHARP. She can go close.

KINETIC KATE (8) isn’t far off a win in one of these qualifiers and was finding the line in behind them last start. Locked away 2 starts back, she is in danger of being buried again, yet can swoop hard.

HAPPY FEELINGS (6) went straight to the front last start at Redcliffe and taking control was never in danger. With good speed off the arm, they might just opt to set her alight and doing so is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: WRITE ABOUT LEXY (5), IMA BLACK BEAUTY (9), KINETIC KATE (8), HAPPY FEELINGS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: WRITE ABOUT LEXY (5) to win

RACE NINE

SOUTHERN ALPS (7) found himself buried on the pegs last start and hit the line in good style when 7m from the winner EMPIRE BAY. That followed a run where he didn’t get the cleanest run in transit with his effort 3 back a tidy run when able to dictate and score. He looks to get his chance again here.

IVANOV (2) will be further tightened from his latest start when 2nd up from a break. Starting from a 20m tape he found the line in good order to grab the silver behind NORTHERN MUSCLE. A safe beginner that can fly the tapes, he can get himself in the right position early and give this a shake.

ALS LAW (1) settled in the pocket trail last week and couldn’t go when the sprint really went on, finishing 9m from EMPIRE BAY. Hitting the line hard 4 starts back, the 2138m suits and he has claims.

SKYFLYER (6) was locked away last start over the mobile mile when starting as the fav but couldn’t reel in the deficit to finish mid-field. Game in defeat at Marburg 2 starts back, he has rough claims.

SELECTIONS: SOUTHERN ALPS (7), IVANOV (2), ALS LAW (1), SKYFLYER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SOUTHERN ALPS (7) to win

RACE TEN

MISS PATRIOT (5) was locked against the pegs last start when mid-field behind BEE GEES BANDIT where the closing speed from the front made it tough for anything chasing. Not entirely suited at Redcliffe the start prior, this is the type of race where she can recapture winning form.

ROCK N JOY (3) was locked against the pegs last start when looking for gaps when mid-field to VASARI. Facing some tough gates at her previous 3 starts, the improved gate is a big plus here and settling closer to the speed, a forward showing can be expected.

BRIAN WHO (8) settled back in the pack from gate 4 last start and was sound to the line behind TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE. Forget his run 2 starts back at Redcliffe, with the right trip he can chime in late here.

VANDE VELDE (2) was eased off the gate last start when down the line behind VASARI. Struggling to recapture some of his best form, he lands the gate to have a look here and can be sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: MISS PATRIOT (5), ROCK N JOY (3), BRIAN WHO (8), VANDE VELDE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS PATRIOT (5) to win
