RACE TWO

BETTOR SPORT (6) rolled forward from gate 4 last start to set up outside the leader and was too strong from that position in grinding out victory over the 2040m trip. Not beaten far at both starts prior when placed in each, this is no harder than recent starts and he can go back-to-back.

MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (1) was locked away 3 back on the poles last start from inside the 2nd line when taking inside runs to arrive for the prize. In the top-2 at 5 of his past 8 starts, this is a rise in what he has been facing but has the benefit of the ace to offset the class factor.

PRINCE JOY (3) has not been too far away of late, working home from back in the pack last start behind GOJOE. Eased from gate 5 here the start prior, settling closer to the action can see him feature.

PACIFIC COIN (4) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start when easing in the early stages and then from back in the field didn’t really work into it. This looks more suitable and he is a place chance.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR SPORT (6), MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (1), PRINCE JOY (3), PACIFIC COIN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR SPORT (6) to win

RACE THREE

The Dixon stable look to hold a strong hand in the early races on the card and SIGNORINA JUJON (2) looks set to continue that trend in this event. Placed at her past 2 starts, she did not have the hustle to hold them out last start when chasing all the way behind GOJOE. Its been a while since her last win, but she might have found the right contest here.

NIKALONG HENRY (1) will be trying to muster the speed to protect the poles here, but he may just lack the early punch to hold them out. Placed in 3 of his past 4 starts, he was working home nicely last start when 3rd to BETTOR SPORT. Only beaten a half-neck 2 starts back, he is the danger.

LA PISTOLA (9) faces another tough gate which has plagued him in recent starts. Runner-up last time out when working home behind CAM YOU FEEL IT, look for him making a closing play to chime in.

JERONIMO JOE (8) found the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line here last start when holding on for the bronze. Down the line behind CHANCELESS CENTURY the start prior, he is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: SIGNORINA JUJON (2), NIKALONG HENRY (1), LA PISTOLA (9), JERONIMO JOE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SIGNORINA JUJON (2) to win

RACE FOUR

CRUNCH TIME (2)
may only be a 3YO and have a pair of duck-eggs next to his name, but he looks to have the class edge to go with the good gate. Down the line in GOVERNOR JUJON’s SE Derby 2 starts back, things just did not go to plan last start. Breaking 1.55 in a recent trial here after his last start mishaps, they will be chasing.

THERESACHANCE (1) can look to take the early trail on the fav here and with the benefit of the cosy trip be looking to lead the chasing pack. Gunned down in the closing stages when setting the tempo here last start, he was sound to the line from a long way back here 2 starts ago. The gate helps.

ARBIT MAJOR (7) can stick to the poles here with the inside looking the place to chase in this contest. 9m away last start from this same gate, it broke a 4-run streak of placings. He can get back into the place action here.

HOT ROD HEAVEN (9) worked home in nice order to be the runner-up to ELMS CREEK here last start. Not too far away the start prior, he can be looking for the short-cuts home.

SELECTIONS: CRUNCH TIME (2), THERESACHANCE (1), ARBIT MAJOR (7), HOT ROD HEAVEN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 1-7-8-9

RACE FIVE

MONTANA EXPRESS (6) continues to land wide gates because of his score-up manners, yet he might have found a suitable contest here. Snagged back last start, he was a long way back when trying to mount a late challenge. Runner-up to GOJOE the start prior, this looks slightly easier and he can look to capitalise.

CANNAN (2) was locked away on the inside last start and when finding open track was hitting the line strongly in the closing stages to grab 2nd behind JAMAICAN RESORT. With the benefit of the gate he can look to fire an early shot here and can settle close enough to the action to challenge.

GETALOADATHISGIRL (4) was in great touch and if you put a line through her last start, her form is strong enough to feature here. A winner here 2 starts back, she failed last start but gets a chance to atone.

SQUATTER SHANNON (7) will be locked away and hoping for some space to make a play. Working hard in the breeze last start, he held on for 3rd to WESTERN SHOWGIRL and has place hopes again.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (6), CANNAN (2), GETALOADATHISGIRL (4), SQUATTER SHANNON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA EXPRESS (6) to win

RACE SIX

JACKBKWIK (1) backs up from a Sunday night victory here when making his 1st appearance in Qld. Finding the right type of contest, he settled back in the pack from a 2nd line gate before finishing hard to arrive for the prize. With early hustle, he looks to get every chance for a repeat win.

WHERES TASCOTT (7) will be sweating on the 1 leading and with that scenario looking likely, will then be awaiting the passing lane to issue the challenge. 6m in arrears of the winner PHIL BROMAC last start, both starts prior to that were in stronger contests at Albion Park. He will be stalking.

CARIBBEAN ROCKET (2) broke through for victory here last start when rewarded after placing in 3 of his previous 4 starts. Grinding it out from the breeze in his win, he might need to work again here.

WILD ABOUT TOWN (5) faded last start after a tough run in transit and might need to be working again at some stage from this gate. Mixing his form somewhat, if he can limit the work, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: JACKBKWIK (1), WHERES TASCOTT (7), CARIBBEAN ROCKET (2), WILD ABOUT TOWN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JACKBKWIK (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (1) started from inside the 2nd line here on Sunday night and from the pocket trail found the early speed too slow and was fired up by the tempo. That followed a Marburg victory where she cruised home wide off the track after going back from a wide gate. With the improved gate, she can look to dictate.

BLACKJEWEL (2) was buried in the run last start from inside the 2nd line and when the space arrived closed soundly to be 4m from the winner CARIBBEAN ROCKET. That followed a tidy effort over the AP mile behind FOUR STARZZZ FORSA and from the gate here can look to throw down the challenge.

A BETTER CHANCE (7) started from this gate last time out and with the cosy trip couldn’t go on with it in the closing stages. Runner-up 2 starts back; she can be ready to feature when the gaps open.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (4) held the pocket trail last start and held on for the bronze behind JAMAICAN RESORT. Hitting the line strongly the start prior from back in the pack, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (1), BLACKJEWEL (2), A BETTER CHANCE (7), TORQUE TO THE MAX (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

WHATA REACTOR (7) has the benefit of moving inside the 2nd line with the scratching and from there will get the cosy trip. Chasing home off the 2nd line to grab 3rd to ARMA AUGUSTUS over the 2040m here 2 starts back, she could not go with them late last time. The economical trip looks ideal.

DANCING IN MANOLOS (1) finished down the line at Marburg 2 starts back after wilting in front. With a subsequent issue detected, she returned last time following a 4-week break and faded late after setting the tempo. Fitter for the run, she will be gripping on here and trying to fight them off.

KID CALVERT (4) is never too far from the action and from the gate can look to settle handy to the action. Sent to the breeze last start, he was fighting late to hold the bronze and can be thereabouts again.

TEACHERS PET (3) was a winner here 4 starts back when capitalising on gate 1 to take them all the way. 3rd from the pocket trail last start, early position will be key to her chances.

SELECTIONS: WHATA REACTOR (7), DANCING IN MANOLOS (1), KID CALVERT (4), TEACHERS PET (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

A combined total of 238 starts between this field of maidens with a moment of glory beckoning. Leaning to ELSIES GIRL (7) who should get the perfect trip here and without spending any early pesos will be ready for the passing lane. Showing early speed prior to releasing and then being buried 3 back here last start, does her moment arrive in this?

IDIOTS DREAM (1) was 1st up for Peter Greig here on Sunday night from gate 1 when easily holding the front. Despite walking them the opening 800m, he could not fight them off late when 5m in arrears of the winner. Taking benefit from that run, will start 52 be the maiden breaker?

DUCHESS DOWNUNDER (6) pressed forward to find the front before releasing to the eventual winner MYKINDOFEELING last start. Holding on for 3rd, the gate is a stinger here and she looks set to work at some point.

CATCH THE BOUQUET (5) started from the 2nd line last start when trying to work into the contest wide off the track. Not helped by another tough gate here, she can chime into the numbers.

SELECTIONS: ELSIES GIRL (7), IDIOTS DREAM (1), DUCHESS DOWNUNDER (6), CATCH THE BOUQUET (5)
SUGGESTED BET:
