THE SHADY ONE

RACE TWO

POMPIDOU (10) has placed in his past 3 starts in mid-week company with the latest here on Tues where he worked forward from gate 6 and was cutting the breeze and fought on gamely to finish 4m from MOJO MAJOR. He can work in the run and despite the 2nd line draw is capable of taking this.

ALWAYS MY MATE (2) was a winner here 4 starts back in a qualifier when sailing down the outside to score. Making an error at his next start he was then luckless at his next outing and then last week hit the line nicely for 3rd to WITHALOTOFLUCK. If he can see space he is right in this.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 4, 2, 1
SELECTIONS: POMPIDOU (10), ALWAYS MY MATE (2), WEE JIMMY (1), MAGOOGAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: POMPIDOU (10) to win

POMPIDOU

RACE THREE

MOJO MAJOR (4) made his Qld debut here on Tues when pressing forward over the 2138m trip to assume control after 600m. Once he found the top he kept them chasing in scoring a 4m victory in strong time. He will need to hustle if he wants to lead  but can get the job done again.

NUI TOC TIEN (11) started from gate 9 last start over the 2138m and with a strong tempo he came with a well-timed run and sailed past the leaders in the stretch for a 10m victory. That followed a solid effort when working in the breeze and with some front end pressure here, he can sail over the top again.

EARLY SPEED: 1, 2, 3, 4
SELECTIONS: MOJO MAJOR (4), NUI TOC TIEN (11), WAR DAN APOLLO (3), PHANTOM ROCKSTAR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: NUI TOC TIEN each-way

MOJO MAJOR

RACE FOUR

JACKAROO BROMAC (7)
returns to claiming company following victory in a mid-week FFA where he finished best over the top of them for a good win over the 2138m. 3 starts back he resumed from a break from this gate and was flashing late along the passing lane for 2nd and with some mid-race pressure up front, he can swoop on them late.

SECRET SMILE (1) was a winner in this grade last week when taken straight to the front and then dictating terms to score victory by a head. Forget his run 2 starts back, his run 3 back was good behind SMOOTH SHOWGIRL and from the ace gate will be looking to fight them off in the stretch.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 2, 4, 5
SELECTIONS: JACKAROO BROMAC (7), SECRET SMILE (1), OVERLAP (8), MAX RICHTER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: JACKAROO BROMAC (7) to win

JACKAROO BROMAC NZ

RACE FIVE

BETTORTHANSPECIAL (12) is the best mare in the field, however will need to overcome one of the worst draws if she is to take this. Her past 3 starts have been in ope company where she has been far from disgraced with a 3m 3rd to AVONNOVA and last week was attacking the line in the latter stages when 5m away. Her class can see her through.

OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1) finished within a half-head of the all the way winner LIKEALLOFUS over the 2138m here 4 starts back and at her 3 runs since has started from gate 5 and gate 7 twice, which does not suit her pattern. Settling in the trail here she will be swooping late and back to mares only company is a big plus.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 3, 4, 5, 6
SELECTIONS: BETTORTHANSPECIAL (12), OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1), VILLAGE WITCH (2), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTORTHANSPECIAL (12) to win

BETTORTHANSPECIAL

RACE SIX

ULTIMATE ART (3) returned from a spell off gate 7 over the sprint trip and was sent forward and doing the hard work in the breeze was too strong to record a half-head victory, running slick sectionals in the process. They can press the button early here and work forward to dictate and he will be hard to hold out.

OUR HI JINX (1) has found his form and last week finished best down the centre of the track to take the Lord Mayors Cup when running some slick closing fractions to arrive in time. From this gate he can look to secure the perfect trip and take his shot when the gaps present.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 4, 5
SELECTIONS: ULTIMATE ART (3), OUR HI JINX (1), MAJOR CAM (4), GLENFERRIE HOOD (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ULTIMATE ART (3) to win

ULTIMATE ART

RACE SEVEN

KLEENED OUT (5) is racing consistently and has been in the top 3 at 8 of his past 10 starts that have included two wins. Last start he hit the line strongly at Menangle to go under by 1.5m and 3 starts back worked hard in the run when 2nd to THE SPIN KING. Working into this he looks to have their measure.

YOUNG AMERICAN (7) started from the 2nd line last start and was put into the race early and then applied the acid to the leader. Gone at the turn he fought on to hold 4th behind NUI TOC TIEN. Luckless when looking for space 3 starts back, the gate does him no favours but he still has claims.

EARLY SPEED: 2, 3, 4
SELECTIONS: KLEENED OUT (5), YOUNG AMERICAN (7), CASINO TOMMY (6), MOONLIGHT EYRE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: KLEENED OUT (5) to win

KLEENED OUT NZ

RACE EIGHT

PASSIONATE FELLA (1)
was taken back from gate 5 last start and struggled to make any closing ground behind JACK HAMMER. That followed a 7th to ANYCHANCE in a Lady Drivers event and from this gate in a wide-open contest has options and looks to get his chance to breakthrough.

THANKU THANKU (10) worked home in good order here 3 starts when finishing 9m from the winner after settling back in the pack and was hitting the line strongly last start when 2m from LEXY CAN WAIT. He is warming up to something and will pay to follow.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 3, 4
SELECTIONS: PASSIONATE FELLA (1), THANKU THANKU (10), LEVI JADE (8), THE ENDEAVOUR (7)
SUGGESTED BET: PASSIONATE FELLA (1) to win

PASSIONATE FELLA NZ

RACE NINE

ANYCHANCE (3)
continued the impressive progression through the grades last start when leading all the way from gate 1 in the Lady Drivers series. Starting a very short priced fav he was never in danger once holding the lead. He can force the issue here and looks too hard to stop again.

SAMS A CHAMP (1) has been lighting up the triangle with 5 wins at his past 6 starts on the Redcliffe surface. Last start he walked through the opening 800m before ramping the tempo and sizzling home in 56 flat. He lands the perfect gate to put himself in the right position.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (early leader), 2, 3, 4
SELECTIONS: ANYCHANCE (3), SAMS A CHAMP (1), BODHI TREE (8), ROCKY CARRIGNTON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ANYCHANCE (3) to win

ANYCHANCE

RACE TEN

DAENERYS STORMBORN (7)
has been clinical in the way she has been putting her opponents away and now has 4 wins and a head 2nd in 5 starts in Qld. Pressing forward from the 20m mark last start she went to the front and then was never in danger. From the 10m she looks hard to stop.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (10) has come onto the racing scene strongly and despite having some issues along the way, has his share of talent to match. Bouncing back to winning form on Tues he pressed ahead from the 10m  and was too good for a 9m victory. He is right in the mix again here.

SELECTIONS: DAENERYS STORMBORN (7), NORTHERN MUSCLE (10), HARD DONE BY (5), LAVROS SEGIL (11)
SUGGESTED BET: DAENERYS STORMBORN (7) to win

DAENERYS STORMBORN NZ
