MOJO MAJOR

RACE TWO

JOSSIE JAMES (5) will take benefit from the heat on Tues which was her 1st run back  from a 5 month break. Settling in the 1 x 1 she sprinted sharply when angled wider just before the home turn and quickly reeled in the leaders. There looks to be plenty of tempo and she can swoop home again.

STATEMENT MADE (4) has returned for his 4YO term in brilliant order and made it 5 from 6 when taking out his heat on Tues. Pressing forward to find the front from gate 3 he kept them chasing and ripped home a sizzling 26.5 closing panel. He will need to work hard to find the front but is the test.

SELECTIONS: JOSSIE JAMES (5), STATEMENT MADE (4), BODHI TREE (3), PSYCHEDELIC (11)
SUGGESTED BET: JOSSIE JAMES (5) to win

JOSSIE JAMES

RACE THREE

WRITTEN IN RED (1) doesn’t have the best numbers next to his name but he is going better than they suggest. Last start he couldn’t find position and ended up 3-wide when beaten 11m. 3 starts back he was put of play in a scrimmage and hustling hard to hold the front he can go all the way.

BETTABE PERFECT (4) was too tough for them 3 starts back when taking out a 2138m race and then had a freshen. Returning over the mile he secured the pocket trail when 6m from SMOOTH SHOWGIRL and took the bronze. His run last week off gate 7 was strong for 2nd and he is right in this.

SELECTIONS: WRITTEN IN RED (1), BETTABE PERFECT (4), WESTERN BLAZE (8), WITHALOTOFLUCK (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi exotics 1-4-5-8

WRITTEN IN RED

RACE FOUR

MAGOOGAN (2)
was a winner 4 starts back to open his band assessment in a tough run from gate 6. 2 starts back he found the front from gate 3 before releasing and finishing 1m from GLENFERRIE BOSS. Last start he looked to lead throughout when grabbed near the line. He looks to get his chance.

MAYWYNS BEST (1) settled behind the leader from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back in a final and with the benefit of the inside he held the silver behind WITHALOTOFLUCK. Luckless last start from gate 7, he has good early speed and will be holding the early advantage with the options available.

SELECTIONS: MAGOOGAN (2), MAYWYNS BEST (1), GUYS BETTOR BET (8), ANNIKA MAGIC (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MAGOOGAN (2) to win

RACE FIVE

GASMONKEY (12) has been in the top 2 at his past 4 starts, with all of those over the mile. He steps up to the 2138m which shouldn’t pose a problem and from the gate will need to work at some stage which also doesn’t cause any concerns for him. He strikes a winnable qualifier despite the gate and can take this.

LUCIFERS LEGEND (5) is racing in good touch and last start opted to work in the run when angled away from the pegs to get around and outside the leader. It was a winning move and he had 2m to spare on the line. His run in the Members Cup was solid and pressing forward is a big threat.

SELECTIONS: GASMONKEY (12), LUCIFERS LEGEND (5), KLEENED OUT (9), THANKU THANKU (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-5-9-12

GASMONKEY

RACE SIX

TOP TRIO (8)
will need some luck from this gate but strikes a race below what he has been meeting in recent starts. A winner 5 starts back when finding space to swoop home over the top he has not been far away since. Too far back last start when taken back from gate 6, he just needs luck to take this.

THE ENDEAVOUR (3) will be fitter following 2 runs back from a break and with slick speed out of the machine can look to dictate here. Luckless last start from gate 7 when unable to find position, his 1st up run from gate 6 was good when 5m from the winner. He will be gripping on here.

SELECTIONS: TOP TRIO (8), THE ENDEAVOUR (3), MR MEDDLE (2), CHANG MAI (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TOP TRIO (8) to win

TOP TRIO

RACE SEVEN

ULTIMATE ART (4) resumed from a break over the mile and was forced to work in the run off gate 7 and proved too strong in taking a half-head victory. With a month between runs, he couldn’t reel them in last week in a strong mile. The longer trip is certainly a concern but at his best he can force his way to the front and make them chase.

MAJOR CAM (1) has now had 2 runs back from a break for a 6m 3rd to OUR HI JINX after being buried away from inside the 2nd line and then last week was working in the run. Not a high gate speed horse he is at risk of being buried again here, his chances rest at the start and where he can position. Place.

SELECTIONS: ULTIMATE ART (4), MAJOR CAM (1), AVONNOVA (5), OUR HI JINX (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

ULTIMATE ART

RACE EIGHT

MAX RICHTER (2)
has worked in the run at his past 3 starts when facing the breeze and been beaten no further than 7m in any of those. 3 starts back over this trip he took the silver with only the swooping MONTANA FALCON able to get past. From this gate he can go straight to the front and have them chasing.

THREO (4) settled back in the pack last week and was sprinting hard down the stretch to take the bronze. 3 starts back over this trip he was working home wide out to grab the bronze behind MONTANA FALCON. Settling handy he will be right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MAX RICHTER (2), JACKAROO BROMAC (6), OVERLAP (3), THREO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MAX RICHTER (2) to win.

RACE NINE

DJANGO MACH (1)
returns to the Narissa McMullen barn after a brief absence from her team that saw him start 2 times from 2nd line draws. 3 starts back he was banished to the trials following a sub-par effort. This looks an ideal race and from the gate he won’t have to be set alight to hold the front and can take them all the way.

HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (8) has placed at her past 2 starts the latest here on Tues when hitting the line off a 2nd line gate to take the bronze behind RIVERLEIGH ROCKET. With a strong sprint when saved for one shot, she will be coiled and ready to strike when the passing lane arrives.

SELECTIONS: DJANGO MACH (1), HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (8), SLIPASLYGRIN (4), JACKS GAMBIT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: DJANGO MACH / HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (1/8) Quinella

DJANGO MACH

RACE TEN

COME CULLECT (6)
made her Qld debut last week in the Forever Gold Mares FFA and after landing a 2nd line gate was attacking the line in the closing stages in a real eye-catcher to claim the silver behind BETTORTHANSPECIAL. That followed an front-running win at Newcastle and in this mares field she looks hard to stop.

ELMAUR JOY (2) started from the 2nd line last start and was positioned well back in the pack and couldn’t work into the race in the closing stages. 4 starts back she looked to lead all the way in a similar race to this and went within a head of victory. From the front she will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: COME CULLECT (6), ELMAUR JOY (2), EVELYN JAY (4), GOTTA GLOW (7)
SUGGESTED BET: COME CULLECT (6) to win
