The summer spoils for the leading Sydney stable of Kerryann Turner and Robbie Morris continues to soar in the sunshine state.

Venturing north with a team of seven for the three week carnival, the campaign couldn’t be going any better.

From 15 starts to date, the stable has provided 5 winners and 6 minor placings.

And the biggest triumph came via Saturday night with victory in the $20,540 AQWA Constructions Christmas Cup at Albion Park with Aztec Bromac scoring a narrow yet impressive win from fan favourite Avonnova and Major Cam.

Aztec Bromac rated 1:59.3 for the 2680m mobile start event.

The victory provided back to back triumphs for the stable in the Christmas Cup after scoring last year with Iam Mr Brightside.

“It’s been a great campaign to date and to land the Christmas Cup again is a great thrill. He’s a stable favourite and deserves to win good races so we’re all happy with the victory.” Morris said.

The American Ideal gelding finished a pleasing third a week earlier in the Gr.3 $30,540 Be Good Johnny Sprint and will tackle the main open class event of the summer carnival this weekend, the Gr.2 $60,540 Egmont Park Stud Queensland Cup.

The Queensland Cup will be staged over 2138m.

And connections are confident of another forward showing.

“He’s going to be very competitive again, the distance will pose no issues while we should be meeting the same type of rivals again.

“I was really happy on the weekend given the lack of pace throughout, he did a really good to sprint past a horse like Avonnova. Hopefully, we land a handy draw and have some luck in running.

“This is the main race that we’re chasing and he’s right where we want him; it would be a great way to finish our Brisbane campaign and a great way to end the year. A nice Christmas bonus.”

Other stable members that have thrived in the warmer conditions include Mojo Major, Smokey Quartz and Come Cullect.

Winless members of the team to date during the campaign include Kleened Out, Hypervelocity and the trotter Solar Storm.

Morris is a great chance of claiming the feature trotting event this weekend when he partners the Troy Williams trained Iona Grinner.

The Gr.2 $40,630 Egmont Park Stud Darrell Alexander Memorial Trotting Championship will be staged over 2647m and Iona Grinner has won both qualifying heats.

The Grinfromeartoear mare will start from a 20m handicap.

Last year, Iona Grinner finished 8th behind Melpark Royal Son.
