RACE TWO

MODERN THOUGHT (7) had a shot for the front last start and the lead came at a cost when fading late. Buried in the run 2 starts back when snagged back from a wide gate, she will be needing a slice of luck to find open space but in an open contest is worth a throw at the stumps.

LIVE IN STYLE (1) has now started 3 times since returning to Qld and following a long break. Last start she was wide off the track when trying to make ground in a race much stronger than she meets here. From the gate she can look to hold them out and is right in the fight.

DONT ARK WITH ME (2) returns to Qld and joins the Tayla Gillepsie barn off the back of a spell. She has been to the trials twice to prepare and stays under notice in this.

MONTEREY JACK (3) found the line in good order here 4 starts back and his past 3 starts have all been in much stronger company with the latest a solid effort. He can bob up at career start 100.

SELECTIONS: MODERN THOUGHT (7), LIVE IN STYLE (1), DONT ARK WITH ME (2), MONTEREY JACK (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MY MAGIC MERLIN (6) gets back to the triangle where he has close to a 75% top 3 strike rate. From gate 1 over the AP mile 3 starts back he used the passing lane to finish 4m from the winner GUNNRNEEDABIGRBOAT. Despite the wide gate he can get into the contest and gets his chance.

MACH TORQUE (9) will be fitter following her return to the track last start when 1st up in her 4YO term. Starting fav from gate 9 she was too far back in the pack and couldn’t work into the contest. This is a shade easier and with the added fitness look for a sharper effort.

COAST WARNING (5) covered plenty of extra track last start when wide out and looking to work home. The closing effort was solid to grab the silver when 7m from the winner and is a place chance.

MAJORESS JUJON (7) had an early look from gate 4 last start before settling in the running line and chasing home. From the gate she will need a some luck but can be running on from the cosy trip.

SELECTIONS: MY MAGIC MERLIN (6), MACH TORQUE (9), COAST WARNING (5), MAJORESS JUJON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MAGIC MERLIN (6) to win

RACE FOUR

THE HARLEM HAMMER (1)
started from gate 5 last start over the 1780m trip and was snagged back to find position. Charging home in the closing stages she was only 3m from the winner SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT. A beaten fav from this gate 4 starts back, she has the options and can breakthrough in this.

FEEL THE REIGN (7) had been runner-up in 3 successive runs leading in to his last start when starting from gate 6. Taken back early the effort was sound when 12m from the winner. His last win came from the passing lane and with the cosy trip here will be coiled and ready to strike.

READILY (8) was locked away in the pegs last start and was finding the line in good style to be 5m from the winner IDLE HANDS. With the option to look for the pegs he has place claims.

DESTINY WARRIOR (3) will take benefit from his latest start when 1st up since arriving in Qld. Starting from gate 10 he worked home in good order and with the improved gate can feature.

SELECTIONS: THE HARLEM HAMMER (1), FEEL THE REIGN (7), READILY (8), DESTINY WARRIOR (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-7-8

RACE FIVE

ALOT OF COST (2) ended his 2YO term in good style when shut down after a strong all the way effort over the AP mile. Facing a tough run from the breeze when resuming, the effort took its toll before bouncing back last start with the narrowest of 2nds. From the gate he can look to dictate.

TAXI METER (5) used the passing lane to get within a head of the winner when returning for his 3YO term. 2nd up from gate 5 he was sent to the front and after a 2nd stanza breather had enough in store to hold on for victory. Fitter again he can look to get the stable quinella.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (1) returns for her 3YO term after a 10 start 2YO campaign that realised a pair of wins. Given a trial to blow the cobwebs out for her 1st up run, a cosy trip can see her feature.

OUR DOUG (7) will strip fitter from his latest outing when when he finished strongly from back in the pack to score a tidy win. This is tougher but the soft trip can see him running on in the closing stages.

SELECTIONS: ALOT OF COST (2), TAXI METER (5), SAINT KILDA BEACH (1), OUR DOUG (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ALOT OF COST (2) to win

RACE SIX

SHERIFF JUJON (1)
finished best from gate 6 after being taken back early and hitting the line in good style to claim a 1st up win. Buried in the run from this gate last start his momentum was held up momentarily when he needed space yet was strong to the line. With the options he can cash-in.
TELL THE FUTURE (3) finished best from the 2nd line here 3 starts back when swooping past them to take a 6m winning margin. At her next start at AP she covered plenty of territory when down the line and last start found PACIFIC DRUMS to slick. Rolling forward she will be right in the fight.

WILLSINTOWN (10) was set alight from gate 6 to find the front over the sprint trip here last start and was fighting hard when 5m from the winner. In good touch he will be looking to power home late.

GOOD BOY OLIVER (9) has landed some tough gates at his past 2 starts and has no favours again here. It’s been a while between drinks, but he can look to chime into the exotics here.

SELECTIONS: SHERIFF JUJON (1), TELL THE FUTURE (3), WILLSINTOWN (10), GOOD BOY OLIVER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SHERIFF JUJON (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

IM FREE FALLING (1) has placed in his past 4 in succession the latest when starting a red figure fav from this gate over the 2040m trip. His run 2 starts back saw him gunned down in the closing stages by BLUE MOON RISING and his previous 2 were defeats by a head and a half-head. If he hasn’t forgotten how to hold on, he can take this.

LINCOLN ROAD (9) was charging home from a long way back in the pack to grab the silver behind DAPPER 2 starts back at just his 2nd Aus start. He fought on gamely last start when working in the breeze in a much stronger race and with even luck in transit can throw down the challenge.

BIG BEAT (2) was finding the line in good order 3 starts back before taking on a 2nd division qualifier. He found his race last start and was too strong from the breeze and can be around the money here.

GOLDEN YEAR (5) had been around the money in 2 Qld starts and made the most of an easier contest last start. Transferred to the Ron Sallis yard, he can be in the mix again here.

SELECTIONS: IM FREE FALLING (1), LINCOLN ROAD (9), BIG BEAT (2), GOLDEN YEAR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: IM FREE FALLING (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (9)
has not had much luck from his past 2 gates and while he doesn’t get many favours again here, his past 2 efforts at the triangle have been solid efforts when working home in the contest which he will be doing here. He chased gamely here in strong closing fractions 3 starts back and can arrive.

BET IM SPECIAL (10) started from gate 3 over the 2040m trip here last start and was hitting the line strongly to grab the bronze behind FRANCO TARIQ. His previous 3 starts were all in stronger contests and with even luck in transit he can be in the mix.

ADRIFT (4) led them up last start and set a solid tempo over the 2040m prior to fading out in the closing stages. That followed a late swooping win at AP and he can be chiming in late in this.

RUATO BAY (2) rolled to the breeze here 2 starts back from gate 4 and proved too strong in scoring by 1m. Only 5m from LENNY THE LEGEND last start he can ask the questions in this.

SELECTIONS: PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (9), BET IM SPECIAL (10), ADRIFT (4), RUATO BAY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (9) each-way
