RACE TWO

CHASING GREAT (1) should appreciate the return to this grade of contest after making the rise to tackle the DJA Series. Far from disgraced in making the Final and then finishing within 10m of the winner MAJESTIC SIMON, back to this grade from the front tape can see him get every chance for his 2nd AP victory.

JANSSON (5) chalked up another minor last start to continue his golden streak of top-3 performances in taking the tally to double figures. Pressing forward to take control from the 30m tape 2 starts back, he was able to fight them off and last start was only 3m in arrears despite an early error. He will challenge hard again in this.

AVEROSS DON (7) took on mobile conditions last start when setting the early speed before fading. Forgiving that run, his effort 2 starts back when 3rd to MAJESTIC SIMON in a DJA heat is enough to find the podium in this.

I ASKED NICELY (3) has earned a return to the races after his latest misdemeanour saw him again banished to the trials. Too strong in front here 2 starts back, if he trots he can win but it is a big if.

SELECTIONS: CHASING GREAT (1), JANSSON (5), AVEROSS DON (7), I ASKED NICELY (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) did not have anything go his way in the big field last time out and was wide for a long way when stuck searching for position as MAJESTIC SIMON was dictating in front. Pressing forward 3 starts back when only collared late, the 20m in this line up looks to give him every chance.

IM THE COMMANDO (5) struck trouble last start that ended his night before it had really even started. Best when able to roll in front, he has been locked against the pegs at his past 2 starts and from the 10m tape here will be able to press forward to throw down the challenge.

GREG THE GREAT (7) will be aided by the small field size here and saved for a closing shot can be finishing hard. Closing nicely when 5m away in Round 2 of the DJA, he missed the final and can seek redemption here.

IN THE VALLEY (1) will take good benefit from his 1st appearance here in Qld when also returning from a spell. Although well beaten behind MONARO MIA, he can be in the right position to feature in this.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (6), IM THE COMMANDO (5), GREG THE GREAT (7), IN THE VALLEY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) to win

RACE FOUR

CEEYEAYE (6) will strip fitter following his return from a spell last time out. Locked against the poles, he found space to make a closing charge to get within 1.5m of the winner. His 1st 2 outings back in May were sound against horses that have gone on with it and he can overcome the gate in this.

CATCH PHRASE (5) has finished with the bronze at each of her 3 outings, the latest when sent to the post in red figures from gate 1. Sitting behind the leader, she was only 2m in arrears after racing in the trail. Fighting on after racing tough the start prior, the gate is tricky but she is moving closer to a win.

MONTANA MYSTIQUE (2) was game after working hard in the run here 3 starts back as MY ULTIMATE HESTON powered over the top of them to score. Wide gates have stung at her next 2 and she can bounce back here.

BAILEYS WITH LEGS (1) will take benefit from her latest start when resuming from a break. Trying to fight them off after setting the tempo, she can be gripping on in front again here.

SELECTIONS: CEEYEAYE (6), CATCH PHRASE (5), MONTANA MYSTIQUE (2), BAILEYS WITH LEGS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CEEYEAYE (6) to win

RACE FIVE

BONDI SHAKE (2)
was too strong when 1st up in Qld here at the mile 2 starts back. Content to grind it out from the breeze, he zipped home in 27.9 to put them away in a 2YO event. The 2138m proved a little out of reach last start and although again tackling older opponents, he can take his chances.

SHEZALUCKYLADY (5) sat off the speed last start before making the closing shot a wining one when sweeping home to claim a 3m victory. Placed in successive starts leading into that victory, they followed a passing lane win 4 starts back. The gate stings but with the right trip she can close hard again.

ONLYSBEST (1) loomed up from the running line and although striking some trouble on the entrance to the straight, was able to arrive to claim the win. Finding the top 2YOs out of reach at his next outing, he has the gate to be effective here.

FLAME LADY (7) was rewarded for her consistency when leading all the way here last start. It comes at the expense of an ODM embargo after causing false start at the 1st attempt, but she can feature again.

SELECTIONS: BONDI SHAKE (2), SHEZALUCKYLADY (5), ONLYSBEST (1), FLAME LADY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BONDI SHAKE (2) to win

RACE SIX

He comes up with the tough gate but making his 1st outing in the claiming ranks can see SAM IS PERFECTION (7) overcome the tough alley. Buried in the run last start when LILAC FLASH busted clear to a big victory, he was not that far away the start prior. He can overcome the alley.

WATTLEBANK FLYER (2) should enjoy the return to claiming grade after tackling some tougher events at his past 2 outings. Down the line last time as SMOKEY QUARTZ dictated in a strong mile, he was too far back the start prior. Settling handy from this alley can see him throw down a challenge.

INTRASIT (4) was locked away back in the pack against the poles last time out and did not find the required space when needed. Working home soundly the start prior, he has place claims here.

CHANTREY (8) is better suited when putting the power on out in front but will be helped as the lone 2nd line runner here. After tackling Saturday night company his past 2, the return to claiming company will aid his chances.

SELECTIONS: SAM IS PERFECTION (7), WATTLEBANK FLYER (2), INTRASIT (4), CHANTREY (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

ALLSTAR SEA (3) was angled to the pegs last start over the 2138m to look for the short-cuts when the race turned in to a sprint home and he was too far back to feature. Runner-up to OUR FRIEND here 2 starts back, he lands an improved gate and can look to run the gate to dictate.

LANCELOT BROMAC (1) was a winner here 4 starts back when finishing best to arrive for a tidy win. Following that with successive placings at his next 2 outings, he was chasing home behind OUR RIDGY DIDGE last start. The inside gate can see him secure a cosy trip and be ready to strike.

VIEWBYTHEROCK (7) has no favours from the carpark but can look to put himself into the contest here. His effort was sound at Redcliffe last time and had followed a 2nd to MISTER COLE. He is a podium chance here.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (9) settled in the running line from gate 3 last start when unable to match the closing power in QBRED event claimed by GOVERNOR JUJON. Hitting the board his 7 successive starts prior, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ALLSTAR SEA (3), LANCELOT BROMAC (1), VIEWBYTHEROCK (7), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ALLSTAR SEA (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

LITTLELIONELJAMES (2) made the most of an improved gate last start to pounce on the pegs from gate 2 and once in control kept the power on to cruise home untroubled to a 7m victory. Troubled by some tough gates prior to the win, he can press forward and look to keep them chasing again.

OUR RIDGY DIDGE (10) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins here over the mile with both victories coming when able to lead throughout. Pressing on to find the front from gate 6 last time out, he had 5m to spare on the line. The 2nd row makes it tougher, but he can be making a challenge.

MOTU AMETHYST (4) was a winner here 4 starts back when finishing over the top of them from the 2nd line to score. Runner-up at her past 2 starts, the latest behind OUR RIDGY DIDGE, she is in the mix.

GOTTA MOMENT (6) backs up from Saturday night where he as doing some early work over the 2138m trip after pressing forward from gate 5. His consistency has wavered, but he has ability to bounce back.

SELECTIONS: LITTLELIONELJAMES (2), OUR RIDGY DIDGE (10), MOTU AMETHYST (4), GOTTA MOMENT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LITTLELIONELJAMES (2) to win

RACE NINE

RUN BOY RUN (3) rolled forward here last time out to do it the tough way outside the leader. Grinding hard he was in for the fight when within 3m of the winner LITTLE CHANGE. Buried away 3 back on the poles the start prior when not getting a shot at them, he looks to have found conditions that sui.

SMITHSTARS LEXUS (7) was a qualifying winner 4 starts back when doing plenty of work in the latter stages when wide off the track. Not much has gone his way in all 3 starts since the win, the latest when 10m in arrears after easing from gate 6 to find position. The gate stings but returning to mid-week company helps.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (10) did plenty of work when racing wide over the closing stages from gate 6 over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Fighting gamely for the silver, she can make a closing play in this.

WINKANDITSOVER (4) was snagged back from gate 5 last start to settle near the rear of the pack. Flying home to be within 3m of the winner, it was an eye-catching effort

SELECTIONS: RUN BOY RUN (3), SMITHSTARS LEXUS (7), SAINT KILDA BEACH (10), WINKANDITSOVER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: RUN BOY RUN (3) to win

RACE TEN

AT WEST POINT (5) resumes from a spell and has had a chequered trialling regime in readiness for his return. Making errors in a pair of trials here at AP, he was sharper in a pair at Redcliffe. A winner at 4 in succession prior to the shut-down, 2 of those were in sub 52 miles. Rolling in front he will take some catching.

LITTLE CHANGE (2) found suitable conditions here last week when arriving over the top in claiming a deserved win after some tidy efforts of late. Locked away on Saturday night after starting from inside the 2nd line, he did not get a crack at them as WILL THE WIZARD arrived. He can challenge.

SMOKEY QUARTZ (4) made the most of an improved gate when taking them all the was over the mile here last week. Never in danger from the front, with even luck he can feature in this.

JUMPING JOLT (10) will be relying on some tempo in this race which looks certain to eventuate. Snagged back from gate 7 last start, he could have been closer than the 7m margin with a clearer passage.

SELECTIONS: AT WEST POINT (5), LITTLE CHANGE (2), SMOKEY QUARTZ (4), JUMPING JOLT (10)
SUGGESTED BET:
