Racing Queensland advises that Race 2, and Races 7-10 were abandoned at Albion Park greyhounds on Wednesday 20 February 2019 due to lure failure.

As per the Abandoned Race Meetings Policy prizemoney will be evenly divided between participants for all abandoned races. Trainers will also receive their appearance fees.

Stewards will conduct a ballot to select two greyhounds from Race 7 and Race 8 to progress to the 5th Grade Final over 395m at Albion Park on Wednesday 27 February 2019.

The course electrician, lure motor manufacturer, and a lure mechanic expert were on site at Albion Park to investigate the issue with lure ahead of the race meeting on Thursday 21 February 2019.

A new starting procedure was devised and thoroughly tested to rectify the issue of the lure losing power.

QRIC Officials observed testing of the lure and were satisfied that the Thursday night  meeting could proceed as scheduled with the implementation of the new starting procedure.
