RACE TWO

THREE MUGS IN (1) found the pegs from gate 2 last start and despite being 3 back in transit, when asked to sprint in the stretch, he stuck to the inside and had too much closing power in claiming the prize. He was luckless 2 starts back and with the cosy peg-line trip again here, will be ready to strike.

COLOMBIAN GOLD (3) continues her improvement, going under narrowly to the passing lane power of THREE MUGS IN. Given no peace in front, she set the tempo of the sub 1.53.0 mile and was within 2m of the win in holding on for the silver. With great early speed, she will give them plenty to chase.

SPIKE BROMAC (8) was eased back in the same race from gate 7 last week and with the power and tempo up front, was always facing a huge task. The pegs will the place to be here and he can take the gaps to chime in.

PACIFIC DRUMS (9) has been to the track 3 times this campaign with each start well-spaced. With 4 weeks since his last appearance when close up behind MACEY JAYDE, he can be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: THREE MUGS IN (1), COLOMBIAN GOLD (3), SPIKE BROMAC (8), PACIFIC DRUMS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THREE MUGS IN (1) to win

RACE THREE

SIR BULSKI (8) will take some benefit from his run here on Tues when returning from a break and starting his 3YO season. Looking to slide forward off the arm, he was funky gaited for a few strides before sliding forward and then gaining cover. With what looks an easy trip, he can break the maiden tag in this line-up.

BRONSKI MACARENA (1) held the front last start over the 2138m and running a steady tempo through the early and middle stages, was grabbed in the stretch by MISTER ARTIKULATE. Only 4m away the start prior, the return to the mile here suits and she will be gripping on.

COULDNTMISAFALCON (2) worked home wide off the track last start in good order to grab the bronze at her 2nd race start. Her debut was a sound effort and with added experience, can challenge.

FEEL THE THRILL (9) secured the pocket trail last start and using the passing lane was 8m away. Forced to work the start prior which had followed successive placings, he can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SIR BULSKI (8), BRONSKI MACARENA (1), COULDNTMISAFALCON (2), FEEL THE THRILL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE FOUR

CHERRYS THE BEST (2)
started for gate 7 last start and was wide for a long way when flexing her muscle to claim a 2m victory over the 2138m trip. Narrowly beaten by the in-form ALE ALE KAI the start prior, she can look to capitalise on the good gate here and is the one they have to beat.

MAKE MINE JOE (6) was a real eye-catcher here on Tues when snagged back from this same gate over this trip. From well back in the pack he was hitting the line with gusto to grab the bronze when 3m from the winner. Placed his past 3 in succession, look for him steaming home.

AMILLION PROMISES (1) was snagged back from gate 5 last start and over the mile was too far back in the pack to challenge thereafter. Fitter for the outing after returning from a freshen, the gate helps.

HANDSOME HERO (4) lands his best gate sine arriving in Qld in 3 runs in the Sunshine State following a spell. His effort was full of merit last start in attacking the line. Limiting the work will be key to his chances.

SELECTIONS: CHERRYS THE BEST (2), MAKE MINE JOE (6), AMILLION PROMISES (1), HANDSOME HERO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CHERRYS THE BEST (2) to win

RACE FIVE

This shapes as a tricky contest to line up with the 2138m distance likely to sort a few of these out. Meeting a stronger line-up last start MEGA STAR (9) was a Redcliffe winner over the 2040m 2 starts back when charging on by to claim a 10m victory. Eased back from gate 6 last start, this looks winnable for him.

INCITER (2) returns following a break and will be 1st up here. Never far from the action, his run 2 starts back was a tidy effort from the 2nd line despite never looking a threat. With a good pipe-opener at the trials to prepare, from the gate he can be in the mix here.

GHOST GUM (5) backs up from Redcliffe on Wed night and has been in nice touch with placings in 3 of his 4 starts prior to Wed. Still after an elusive AP victory after 46 attempts, he has podium claims.

TRUE STEPPER (7) closed out her 2YO term with a half-neck victory to break her maiden after 6 attempts. Closing strongly to grab the bronze in sharp time at her return, she can challenge despite the gate in this.

SELECTIONS: MEGA STAR (9), INCITER (2), GHOST GUM (5), TRUE STEPPER (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

BROKEN ARK (3) will be 2nd up this campaign after returning here last week from gate 4. Easing into the running line, he couldn’t go with them in the closing stages with the last panel put down in a sharp 27 sec. Fitter for the run, he can get forward in the early stages and gets a chance in this.

FEARLESS FAITH (6) will strip fitter following her return last start when tough from the breeze and packing too many bullets to claim a stylish 7m victory. Only beaten a half-neck at her final 2YO appearance, she can work in her races and despite the tough gate can give this a shake.

TULHURST KATE (1) eased back from gate 4 last start at Marburg and was working home strongly in the closing stages to grab the silver when 2m in arrears of the winner. With an easy trip, she can chime in.

CHEESANDKISSES (7) doesn’t have any favours from the wide gate, a result of her barrier manners 2 starts back. Last time out she chased hard to grab the bronze from back in the pack and can repeat.

SELECTIONS: BROKEN ARK (3), FEARLESS FAITH (6), TULHURST KATE (1), CHEESANDKISSES (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BROKEN ARK (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

LAVROS SEGIL (11) went within a half-head of victory last start from this same impost over this trip. Striking trouble in the middle stages of the race, he lost considerable ground, was able to reset and was charging home in the narrow defeat. Only 4m away the start prior, he can bounce back here.

SKYLINE (13) made a mess of the start last time out over this trip from a 10m tape against stronger opponents. Once he started trotting, he was strong to the line to be within 9m of the winner. He trialled here on Tues in good style and despite being a risk from the tapes, if he gets it right, this is within reach.

EL SWAVO (7) is never far away and is generally very safe from the tapes. He stepped straight to the front last start from the front line when grabbed in the stretch. He can be thereabouts once again.

NO TRANSACTIONS (5) settled in the 1x1 last start from the 30m tape an was closing hard to get within a half-head of the winner CLOVER LOU. Safe from the stand, he can be in the mix once again.

SELECTIONS: LAVROS SEGIL (11), SKYLINE (13), EL SWAVO (7), NO TRANSACTIONS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LAVROS SEGIL (11) to win

RACE EIGHT

B MAC (6) was well tried in the market when making his Aus debut off the back of a spell here last start. From gate 9 over the mile, he settled in the running line when finishing mid-field to WHITEHAVEN LASS. Fitter for the run, he has the wide gate but finds a winnable contest in this.

REDS GOOD TO GO (7) returned to the track in late December to kick-off his 3YO term when starting form the four-hole over the mile. Striking trouble in the early stages, he was never in the mix thereafter. He had trialled in good order prior to the return and can be sharper this time around.

MOLLY MONTANA (8) worked to the front from gate 3 over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back and cruised home to a 7m victory. Her run was full of merit last start and with a cosy trip will be probing.

NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (1) eased back from gate 5 last start and was then caught in a scrimmage that ended her chances. With the peg-line benefits she can search for atonement in this.

SELECTIONS: B MAC (6), REDS GOOD TO GO (7), MOLLY MONTANA (8), NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: B MAC (6) to win

RACE NINE

A tricky mobile trot over the mile to round out the card where DAENERYS STORMBORN (2) will be fitter following her last start when resuming from a break. Tackling the same conditions here as her return, she released the front and was best of the chasers behind MONORAIL. She can grab this one.

ALS LAW (5) started from inside the 2nd line last start and sent to the post fav chased hard for 3rd behind the big winner MONORAIL. Only 6m away the start prior in stronger Sat night company, he is going well enough to challenge here, finding early position will be key to his chances here.

IM THE COMMANDO (6) is another out of the MONORAIL victory lining up again here, 6 of the 8 runners in this coming from that race. He started from the 2nd line in that event and better suited when able to roll forward can be in the mix here.

WHATABOYZ (3) was buried away in a big field from a 10m tape here 2 starts back and finished best to claim the prize. He hasn’t faced the mobile for a while, but with even luck is one for the exotics.

SELECTIONS: DAENERYS STORMBORN (2), ALS LAW (5), IM THE COMMANDO (6), WHATABOYZ (3)
SUGGESTED BET: DAENERYS STORMBORN (2) to win
