RACE TWO

RUHTREBO (4) found his race last start and after starting from inside the 2nd line was able to get away from the pegs early and with a solid tempo worked home best to score. He closed out strongly along the passing lane 2 starts back and finding the right position here looks set to get the right trip to finish over the top of them again.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (3) put in a huge run over the AP 2138m trip 3 starts back and then over the mile was attacked hard before relenting for the trail and hampered when needing an out. He did his share of work in a 2nd division qualifier last start from gate 6 and with a 50% top-two strike rate here on the triangle can look to take his shot.

BACK PAGE NEWS (7) looked to take them all the way on Sat night in a 2nd division qualifier and after backing it off through the middle 800m couldn’t quite see it out when grabbed by MR MEDDLE. He will need his slice of luck here and be probing for the gaps.

BOB GAGE (1) chased gamely from back in the pack last start over the 2280m trip when 8m from the winner. From the inside gate he can look to drive through early to get the right spot and will be looking for openings.

SELECTIONS: RUHTREBO (4), JACKS AT THE BEACH (3), BACK PAGE NEWS (7), BOB GAGE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: RUHTREBO (4) to win

RACE THREE

MICKEE CULLEN (5) secured the perfect trip in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start and angled to the passing lane took a while to reel in the leader yet was able to arrive for the prize. Hitting the line strongly from the rear 2 starts back and only beaten a head, he can look to work home over the top of them here.

WAVEDANCER (3) found the running line from gate 5 last start and chased gamely to grab 2nd when finishing 3m from the winner REDDY FIRE. Not quite suited in the pocket trail the start prior when taking too long to wind up, he can find position here and keep on keeping on.

COAST WARNING (1) did some early work before taking cover here 2 starts back and was then hitting the line nicely to get within 2m of the winner FORTES IN FIDES. With the benefit of the cosy trip he can look to capitalise.

WEASEL (4) did plenty of work wide out over the sprint trip 2 starts back and went down fighting when beaten a head. He couldn’t work into it from the 2nd line last start and with the return to the front line can look to be sharper.

SELECTIONS: MICKEE CULLEN (5), WAVEDANCER (3), COAST WARNING (1), WEASEL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MICKEE CULLEN (5) to win

RACE FOUR

LIFES BLACK (6)
shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins here on the triangle over the sprint trip. Last start he was sent to the breeze from the 2nd line and packed too many guns to score by 4m. That followed a stylish all the way win and despite landing the wide gate he looks up to the challenge.

RAINBOW ATOMIC (8) will take good benefit from his Qld debut when 1st up in 4 months and taken to the front from gate 2 was never in danger in scoring an 11m victory. He steps up another level here but with even luck in transit he looks to get a chance to make it back-to-back.

ARK PATROL (7) will need a slice of luck from this gate and might look to get away from the pegs early. Last start he made the most of the opportunity to find the front and once in control held on to score. He can feature.

MAJORESS JUJON (5) was gunned down in the closing stages 2 starts back when looking to take them all the way. Last start from gate 3 she again went to the front and taking control had 15m up her sleeve in victory The gate hurts.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (6), RAINBOW ATOMIC (8), ARK PATROL (7), MAJORESS JUJON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (6) to win

RACE FIVE

NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (8) will strip fitter following her return last start when kicking off her 3YO term. Starting from barrier 6 she was working home wide off the track and chased gamely for the silver behind the all-the-way winner SIGNORINA JUJON. With the right early trail she can look to work home over the top.

OUR DOUG (6) showed the speed to find the pegs from gate 3 here last start and setting an even tempo was only collared right on the line, going down by a head. He found the line in good order here 3 starts back when 8m from JOVIAL JULIE and despite the wide gate can issue a challenge.

BETTOR BECAUSE (4) will take further benefit from her latest appearance when 2nd up from a break. A tough 2nd when beaten a half-head at her final 2YO run at AP 3 starts back, she can chime in here.

LITTLELIONELJAMES (1) is an Alta Christiano colt on debut for Errol Cain that has been to the trials 4 times this prep in readiness for his 1st race. The latest of those was a nice effort and he is under watch.

SELECTIONS: NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (8), OUR DOUG (6), BETTOR BECAUSE (4), LITTLELIONELJAMES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (8) to win

RACE SIX

WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (3)
will find this well below what she took on last start and with good early speed she looks set to get her chance to find the pegs and dictate. She set the tempo last start over the 2040m trip but couldn’t see it out and the return to the sprint trip is a huge plus.

TAFFY BOY (7) will need a slice of luck but as the lone 2nd line runner should have time to work away from the pegs. Finding the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line last start he chased gamely for the bronze behind REDDY FIRE and 4 back was hitting the line strongly from well back. Looks the quinella hope.

ARCHIECANO (1) should be receiving the perfect run from gate 1 and with the leader not looking to receive any pressure in the run can chase home to find the podium.

This is wide open outside of what looks a clear winner to finish the night and any of these are capable of filling the minor placings, with position and luck in running likely to determine who can chime in.

SELECTIONS: WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (3), TAFFY BOY (7), ARCHIECANO (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
