RACE TWO

MY MAGIC MERLIN (5) got the monkey off the back last start when arriving for a narrow victory from the pocket trail as a red figure fav. That ended a frustrating run that had seen him place in 15 of 21 for the term but unable to breakthrough for victory. With confidence he can look to repeat.

TELL ME FIBS (9) lines up in Qld for the 1st time for Lacey Hinze and will be having just her 2nd career start. Formerly rained by the all-conquering Emma Stewart stable she ran home a strong last 800m to score on debut, if she can bring that same form after a freshen, she will be hard to stop.

MODERN THOUGHT (4) pressed ahead from gate 3 last start to find the front and set an even tempo when grabbed in the latter stages. Settling close to the speed again here she will be in the mix.

GUILTY PLEASURE (8) has been in the money at her past 3 starts with the latest a tidy effort to grab the bronze behind RUHTREBO. Finding some form, she can look to podium once again.

SELECTIONS: MY MAGIC MERLIN (5), TELL ME FIBS (9), MODERN THOUGHT (4), GUILTY PLEASURE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MAGIC MERLIN (5) to win

RACE THREE

FEEL THE REIGN (4) started in red figures last start from gate 3 over the 2040m trip and had to put some power on to find the pegs. Easing the tempo once assuming control he tried to increase the speed in the closing half and was grabbed on the line. Back to the sprint trip suits and he can dictate.

SHERIFF JUJON (7) will be needing some luck from this alley but with the cosy trip can be looking for clear space to issue a closing challenge. Arriving from the rear to score here 2 starts back, he couldn’t work into it last start after snagging back from gate 5. He will be probing for gaps here.

VELOCE BELLA (8) has been in the money at her past 3 starts the latest when beaten a head after releasing the front and taking the trail in a strong AP mile. With even luck in transit she can feature.

RED LUCK (1) took the trail from this gate last start and chased hard to be 4m from the winner LIFEINHEAVEN. Kept fresh since that run, he will secure the cosy trip here and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: FEEL THE REIGN (4), SHERIFF JUJON (7), VELOCE BELLA (8), RED LUCK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FEEL THE REIGN (4) to win

RACE FOUR

MY ULTMATE JOE (5)
has been runner-up in 3 of his past 4 starts and looks to get his chance here despite coming up with a tricky alley. Last start from gate 6 over the AP 2138m he went back early and was charging in the closing stages when finishing 1m from the winner SEA HAWKE. This looks his to claim.

DONT BE JEALOUS (9) was hitting the line in good order at AP over the mile 2 starts back and grabbed the bronze when 1m from the winner. Taken to Tamworth last start she closed out in good order from back in the pack when 6m from the winner. Despite the 2nd line she can feature in this.

MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (3) looked to take them all the way from gate 1 last start and led all bar the last stride when grabbed by MY MAGIC MERLIN on the line. That was just his 4th start and he is in the mix.

JUST JOSHIN (7) resumes from a spell and has featured in a stable change. This is a big class drop on what he has been facing and with a good trial to prepare he just needs some luck from the gate.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTMATE JOE (5), DONT BE JEALOUS (9), MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (3), JUST JOSHIN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTMATE JOE (5) to win

RACE FIVE

MISS MIA (8) rolled forward from gate 6 last start and working hard in the breeze did well to fight in late in finishing mid-field and only 8m from the winner. Forget her previous start when striking trouble, she faces a tricky gate here but can look to finish over the top.

WHEREYAGOINBABE (9) makes her Qld debut for Lola Weidemann and arrives with a last start 3rd over the Bathurst 1730m trip when trying to make ground against the tempo. That was her 2nd run back from a long break and with the added fitness can be right in the fight.

MAYWYN TOUGH (3) rolled to the breeze from this gate last start and was trying to fight on when holding the bronze behind SIGNORINA JUJON. He can look for the pegs early here and will be fighting.

TACTFILLY MAGIC (5) chased hard along the passing lane last start to grab the bronze behind ACE MONTANA. The wide gate makes it a little tricky but she won’t be far away in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: MISS MIA (8), WHEREYAGOINBABE (9), MAYWYN TOUGH (3), TACTFILLY MAGIC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS MIA (8) to win

RACE SIX

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (8)
is racing super consistently and arrive here as a runner-up at his past 3 in succession. Working out wide on the track last start after starting form gate 10 he chased hard as the fav when falling 4m short. Only beaten a head the start prior he can look to go 1 better here.

WILLSINTOWN (5) went straight to the front last start before releasing to take the trail but couldn’t run down the leader and winner. Forget his run 2 back where he struck trouble, his run 3 starts back was a top run from gate 10 to arrive for the prize. With brilliant early speed he is in the mix.

BONNIE JUJON (1) was buried away against the pegs last start and held ground in the closing sprint behind IM FREE FALLING. With some factors in her favour early in this, she can challenge.

MAHALO (2) was snagged back in the early stages last start and from back in the pack couldn’t warm up to the task. That was her 1st run back from a freshen and settling closer can be sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (8), WILLSINTOWN (5), BONNIE JUJON (1), MAHALO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

RITCHIE BEE (2) looked to take them all the way here 2 starts back from this same gate and after setting an even tempo out in front was grabbed in the closing stages. That followed a tidy effort when 4m from JAX NAVARO and last start he was too far back. Form the gate he can look to dictate.

MONTEREY JACK (3) started from gate 6 here last start and was forced to do plenty of work in the run from the breeze yet was fighting gamely when finishing a 5m 3rd. His past few starts have all been good runs including a win 4 starts back and settling handy from this gate will be in the fight.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4) will be 1st up since October and comes into this without a public trial to prepare. A last start winner over the sprint trip when dictating in front, he has podium claims.

MONTANA EXPRESS (10) was working home wide off the track last start over the AP mile when 4m from the winner. His previous 2 were through a Gold Pot series and he can be charging late here.

SELECTIONS: RITCHIE BEE (2), MONTEREY JACK (3), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4), MONTANA EXPRESS (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

CHIRPY CHUCKLES (3)
worked to the front over the sprint trip from gate 5 here 3 starts back and once in control kept the tempo on to score a stylish 7m victory. He charged late after landing gate 10 at his next start in a nice effort. Forget his latest run, he can spear out and dictate here.

DESTINY WARRIOR (5) goes in search of the hat-trick after successive wins here at he 2280m and 1780 trips. In both of those victories he has been able to find the front and make his own way with the latest when running at an even tempo throughout. The gate makes it tricky but he can challenge.

OUR BUSCEMI (2) is another in search of a hat-trick of wins after his latest win came when hitting the line hard from back in the pack for a good win. That followed a tough win and he can’t be dismissed.

CORPORAL LUNA (1) will get a cosy trip here and can look to make a closing shot when the gaps arrive. He charged in the latter stages last time after snagging back from gate 6 and can feature.

SELECTIONS: CHIRPY CHUCKLES (3), DESTINY WARRIOR (5), OUR BUSCEMI (2), CORPORAL LUNA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-5

RACE NINE

THE HARLEM HAMMER (7)
will need some factors in her favour here but should enjoy a soft trip and be ready to make a closing shot in the stretch. Last start she didn’t get the cleanest passage when looking to make a challenge which followed a much stronger Band 5 race. Just needs the right luck.

YKIKAFIL (2) worked hard in the breeze last start and fought gamely over the 2280m trip before fading in the latter stages. His run over this trip 2 starts back was a und effort when 8m from the winner and settling handy from this gate can look to issue a challenge.

SPLASH OF GOLD (1) looked to take them all the way over the longer 2280m trip last start but couldn’t see it out and wasn’t helped carrying a flat tyre. From the gate she is in the mix.

EPIRUS BOY (3) found himself just a little too far back last start and couldn’t make up the deficit when the race opened up in the closing stages. Finding early position he can be sharper.

SELECTIONS: THE HARLEM HAMMER (7), YKIKAFIL (2), SPLASH OF GOLD (1), EPIRUS BOY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HARLEM HAMMER (7) to win
