There has been a changing of the guard at Queensland’s BOTRA organisation.

The Management Committee has a new look for the mouthpiece of the Sunshine State industry members under the banner of BOTRA - Breeders', Owners', Trainers', Reinspersons' Association.

Third generation trainer and former driver Daren Garrard was appointed President at the Annual General Meeting on December 20, 2018.

The former Vice-President, Mr Garrard thanked outgoing President Dan Costello and former Management Committee representatives, and hopes to utilise some plans of the organisation which had previously been put in place.

“We look forward to holding regular meetings which will be open to members and non-members alike, all for the good of the harness racing industry,” he said.

“We are anxious to extend membership of this organisation, in the knowledge that BOTRA represents the industry across-the-board, from the hobby trainer with the smallest holding to the largest professional stables.

“As such, we plan to keep members informed of any meetings we have with industry bodies, including race clubs and Racing Queensland.”

The Management Committee also includes:

Jeroen Nieuwenburg (Vice-President)
Joedy Lee (Secretary)
John Cremin (Treasurer)
