RACE TWO

JAMIES BAD BOY (5) has won 4 races on a Tuesday here at Headquarters in his 5 starts since arriving in Aus and still finds himself well-graded. He did plenty of work last and was too strong to the line from gate 6 in a tough win. He can press forward and showing he can work, looks to tough again.

THE CRUISE MISSILE (1) will be fitter following 2 runs back from a spell and will relish the improved gate after starting from inside the 2nd line when 2nd up and wide out when returning. Only 7m away from JAMIES BAD BOY last start, he has the speed to lead and will provide an honest test for them.

NIGHT NINJA (2) was strong in the breeze here 2 starts back when only 4m from the winner in a Marburg to Albion Final after winning his heat. Darting down for the cheap ride, he can chime in.

THATS BETTOR (6) returns from a spell to start her 4YO season and has been sharpened with a tidy Redcliffe trial to prepare. In the money in 5 of 10 here at AP including 2 wins, she can place fresh.

SELECTIONS: JAMIES BAD BOY (5), THE CRUISE MISSILE (1), NIGHT NINJA (2), THATS BETTOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

DATALDO (8) will strip fitter following his return to the track last start when 1st up since claiming the Triad Consolation back in July and with no public trial. Finding the front over the mile, he was crossed at the 1000m and then chased to be 3m from the winner DOUBLE OR NOTHING. With early options, this is within reach.

TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (3) eased back early last start over the 2138m and was doing some nice work late to be within 2m of the winner OUR BALOU. Grabbed in the latter stages the start prior, she can settle handy to the speed here and can look to make a closing play in the stretch.

VENUS JUJON (2) eased back from gate 6 last start and was a long way back when really hitting the line in smart fashion to be 6m from the winner. A play for the front might be on offer and she is in the mix.

LORD DIGBY (4) will take great benefit from his return to the track last week over the 2138m when holding on for 3rd from the pocket trail. A three-time winner at 2YO, he won’t be far away here.

SELECTIONS: DATALDO (8), TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (3), VENUS JUJON (2), LORD DIGBY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DATALDO (8) to win

RACE FOUR

A rare mid-week FFA where we see some seasoned performers strutting their stuff. HUGHIE GREEN (1) missed a run in the Qld Cup and went around over the mile from gate 4 when charging home to get within a lip of the other Cup ballotee CLINTAL DO. With the cosy trip, he can fire a winning shot.

ROCK WITH SAM (7) is in search of a hat-trick after a pair of stylish wins at his past 2 outings. Sent to the breeze over the mile last start he packed too much heat and held on to score in a new career PB. That followed a chasing win where he broke 54sec the closing 800m to score. Despite the gate, he can take this.

WATCH PULP FICTION (3) has been kept fresh since his last start in the Qld Cup where he was always facing a task after easing from a wide gate. He can settle close to the action here and is a big threat.

MACH ALERT (5) has been super consistent since he was a winner over the mile 5 starts back. Running some super closing splits since that win, he also possesses great speed off the arm when lit up. He is right in this.

SELECTIONS: HUGHIE GREEN (1), ROCK WITH SAM (7), WATCH PULP FICTION (3), MACH ALERT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: HUGHIE GREEN (1) to win

RACE FIVE

SECRET JACK (6) will be 2nd up this prep and finds himself on a sizeable class drop back into the claiming ranks. Buried from inside the 2nd line when resuming, he held ground to the line when 8m from the winner. The wide gate hurts but he looks hard to beat back to this line-up.

FIOKI (8) was finding the line in nice style last start when 4m from the winner COMPLY OR DIE over the mile. Luckless the start prior when probing for an opening that never arrived, he chased hard for the silver to BIG BANG LEONARD 3 starts back. He has early options and can be swooping hard.

COMPLY OR DIE (2) turned back the clock last start to pounce on the poles and take them all the way in close to a PB after lighting then up in 27.2. The 2138m has never been his bread and butter, but he can still feature.

ONE WISE MAN (5) should appreciate the return to the claiming grade after tackling Sat night company in recent outings. Down the line from some tough gates, he can be sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: SECRET JACK (6), FIOKI (8), COMPLY OR DIE (2), ONE WISE MAN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SECRET JACK (6) to win

RACE SIX

WITH THE BAND (11) franked the short quote on debut here last week when sent straight to the front from gate 4. Opening them in a sub 28 panel, she was able to get a good breather before amping it to a sub 28 closer. Showing great closing speed on the grass 2 starts back, she can go 2 for 2 in Aus.

MUMMYS BOY (2) kicks-off his 3YO term following a disjointed 2YO term that still produced a tidy win from the 2nd line and a 3rd in his 4 appearances. Down the line behind EXPENSIVE EGO at his final outing, he has opened the pipes in good order and from the gate can challenge fresh.

DEVOUGED (8) was just too far back last start from gate 12 behind JAMIES BAD BOY. Placed in successive starts prior to that, he can get a cosy trip and be probing for gaps here.

LEFT A HURRIKANE (1) led them up last start over the 2138m but couldn’t see it out when 9m from the winner OUR BALOU. A beaten fav the start prior, he can be around the money from the ace here.

SELECTIONS: WITH THE BAND (11), MUMMYS BOY (2), DEVOUGED (8), LEFT A HURRIKANE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: WITH THE BAND (11) to win

RACE SEVEN

LIKEALLOFUS (8) will need a slice of luck here returning from a freshen, but has shown previously he is effective when saved for a passing lane attack. Last start back on Dec 3 he took them all the way over the mile to score and with the softer trip chasing, will be coiled and ready to strike here.

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (1) led them up from this gate over the sprint trip last start when sent to the post as fav. Grabbed in the latter stages to be mid-field, he has been to the trials twice to sharpen since that run, including s solid hit-out in front. From the gate he can hustle and be gripping on.

BIG BANG LEONARD (7) was buried in transit here on Sat night when looking to complete a half-dozen of successive victories. Trying to find space he found traffic instead and despite a wide gate can atone here.

THREE MUGS IN (4) has been returning some sharp performances without a winning reward in recent starts. Attacking the line strongly his past 2, he can be swooping late again here to feature.

SELECTIONS: LIKEALLOFUS (8), INVINCIBLE LOXTON (1), BIG BANG LEONARD (7), THREE MUGS IN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-8

RACE EIGHT

NEWPORT DREAMZ (3) pressed ahead to find the front from this gate over this trip 4 starts back and setting an even tempo was able to see it out. Buried away after retreating from gate 6 here 2 starts back, he was attacking the line hard to grab the bronze. From the front he can look to dictate.

HADLEY (1) is after 4 on the bounce after completing the hat-trick last start when taking them all the way over the mile in a new career benchmark. A big winner from the 2nd line at Redcliffe the start prior, he steps it up here but with a cosy trip on offer over the linger 2138m, can be ready to strike.

LUCKY UNLUCKY (6) started a well-supported fav last start from gate 6 in a 7 horse field, but never had much go his way and then broke in running. 2nd up here and with added fitness, look for a sharper effort.

TORI MAY (9) comes through the same race as LUCKY UNLUCKY and after settling back in the small field, was finding the line smartly in the closing stages. Finding cheap position, look for her swooping.

SELECTIONS: NEWPORT DREAMZ (3), HADLEY (1), LUCKY UNLUCKY (6), TORI MAY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWPORT DREAMZ (3) to win
