RACE TWO

ROCKNROLL ICON (6) was clinical in victory at Redcliffe last week when making his 1st Qld race appearance in a similar race. Pressing on to find the front from gate 4, once in control he never looked in danger, running slick time over the 2040m trip. Fitter from that outing, he looks hard to stop 2nd up.

CLARRY (1) returned from a spell with an eye-catching performance when charging home to be within 5m of the winner ROCKNROLL CLASSIC. Starting from gate 2 here on Tuesday he was best of the chasers behind the in-form KINGOFTHESTARS. With the options from the alley, he has solid claims.

DAPPER (3) made the most of gate 1 last start to look for an all the way win when nabbed in the closing strides by SAM IS PERFECTION. Strong in the closing stages the start prior, he has the early speed to feature.

HANDSOME HERO (2) struck trouble in the run last week at Redcliffe that ended his chances after starting from inside the 2nd line. Only 3m away here 2 starts back, he will be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL ICON (6), CLARRY (1), DAPPER (3), HANDSOME HERO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-6

RACE THREE

TURN IT UP (7)
placed in both runs in the Summer Carnival when 3rd on each occasion in the Be Good Johnny and in the G1 Blacks A Fake. His Blacks A Fake run was a great effort from gate 7 and with a super record where he is yet to miss a cheque in 19 starts, he looks too classy for them here.

MAJOR CAM (6) was massive in victory last start when scorching up the stretch to arrive for a breathtaking victory. Still last as they swung for home and facing a forlorn task, he sprouted wings to charge home to score. Fitter again after 3 runs back from a break, he can make a challenge.

WATCH PULP FICTION (1) will be burrowing through from this alley to secure position to give himself a chance of a podium finish. Fading last start in the Christmas Cup over the long trip, he can be sharper here.

CHEVRONS REWARD (10) has made the rise to open company in good style with placings at her 2 attempts, the latest when runner-up to MAJOR CAM. In great form this campaign, she can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: TURN IT UP (7), MAJOR CAM (6), WATCH PULP FICTION (1), CHEVRONS REWARD (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TURN IT UP (7) to win

RACE FOUR

This is one of the strongest qualifiers for some time and with plenty of speed on the front line should ensure a slippery tempo. Resuming from a let-up, WILL THE WIZARD (9) has not been seen since scoring a strong win in 3YO company when leading throughout over the middle distance. That followed a big win from the 2nd line in the JC McMullen and he can strike again fresh.

THE FORTUNATE SON (5) loves to roll in front and from the gate he looks set to again press forward to take up the lamp lighting duties. Too strong in front here 2 starts back, he was sent to the post as fav last time when gunned down in the closing stages by LA PLAYER. He will be gripping on again.

VIENNA BOY (1) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and was strong to the line when splitting LA PLAYER and THE FORTUNATE SON. With the benefit of the good alley, he can be probing for space to offer.

B MAC C (3) landed a tough gate last start and after noting was available on the front end from gate 6, drifted all the way back. Attacking the line strongly in the closing stages, if he can limit the early burn, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (9), THE FORTUNATE SON (5), VIENNA BOY (1), B MAC C (3)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (9) to win

RACE FIVE

STRADDIE (7)
has really hit a purple patch since arriving in Qld and lines up here looking to make it 5 wins in succession. Pressing on over the 2138m last start to find the front and take control, it was a dominant win which had followed a tough win from the 2nd line at the mile. The gate is a big dampener, but he can overcome the impediment.

LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (10) was asked to step into open company last start and was far from disgraced under the circumstances. Able to find cover after an initial look for position he was 9m in arrears of MAJOR CAM. A winner at his previous 5 in succession, he has the tough gate but back to this grade suits.

SPEEDY DOMINIC (6) brutalised his opponents last start when sent to the front over the 2138m trip and once in front his rivals were left gasping. That franked a strong run the start prior and he can join in here.

SPARKLING CULLECT (1) was sent forward from gate 4 here on Tuesday to take control through a sub 27 opener. Fighting them all off to claim a strong 6m victory, the good gate can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: STRADDIE (7), LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (10), SPEEDY DOMINIC (6), SPARKLING CULLECT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: STRADDIE (7) to win

RACE SIX

There could be some bigger fish to fry on the horizon for ONE CHANGE (12) who has not been since his last start victory in the Christmas Cup back in December. Kept fresh since that dominant display over the 2680m trip when scoring in strong time over COLT THIRTY ONE, he looks pitch-forked into this at just Band 5 level. This should shape as a nice pipe-opener to his upcoming campaign.

ALWAYS A SECRET (10) was obliged to work hard in the run last time out when sent forward from gate 6 to cut the breeze. Grinding it out to hold on for the silver, he could not reel in the leader and winner TACTICAL RESPONSE. A nice all the winner 3 starts back, 2nd place is within reach.

COMMODORE JUJON (4) backs up from Tuesday where he grabbed the silver after being shuffled to 3 back along the inside as SPARKLING CULLECT landed the prize. He can fill the exotic numbers again.

FRANCO LANDRY (7) was looking to go 3 for 3 and remain undefeated in Qld when working hard in the run from this gate last start. With no answers under the tough run, he faded to a mid-field result. The gate is a stinger.

SELECTIONS: ONE CHANGE (12), ALWAYS A SECRET (10), COMMODORE JUJON (4), FRANCO LANDRY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 12 / 4-7-9-10.

RACE SEVEN

The 1st of an up to 4-win event that feature on the programmes looks to suit the speedy mare BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9) who returned from a Christmas let-up when firing out to take control and then run her rivals into the ground in a sharp mile. Better suited off the front, she is starting to furnish into a tidy mare after being a headstrong youngster. With even luck she can go back-to-back.

BETTATHANIDEAL (3) finds a nice Saturday night contest at his return from a spell after a mixed campaign last time in. Put away after fading from a tough run back in July, he has been to the trials on two occasion to blow the cobwebs out, the 2nd of those a nice effort behind TURN IT UP. He can strike fresh.

ROCKSLIDE (6) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when completing a hat-trick of victories when leading throughout over the 2138m trip. That followed successive Redcliffe wins and with 4 wins in 8 starts, can feature here.

CROWN MOJO (1) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start and was chasing hard to hold on for the silver. Only 3m in arrears the start prior, he can be thereabouts again from this alley.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9), BETTATHANIDEAL (3), ROCKSLIDE (6), CROWN MOJO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

LOMBO HEAVEN (2) was 1st up in Qld 2 starts back when settling in the running line from a 2nd line gate and then finishing over the top of them to claim a smart win. Always facing a task last start from inside the 2nd line as RANGER BOMB powered home in a sizzling closing quarter, he can bounce back.

ONE OFF (3) was best of the chasing bunch in a similar race last Saturday at Redcliffe as the dictating CAPTAIN COSMONAUT developed the contest into a turn and burn after a pedestrian opening half. Attacking the line strongly the start prior after retreating from gate 7 behind LA PLAYER, he can challenge here.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (5) released the speed from the ace here on Tuesday over the 2138m and held on to grab the silver behind THE HERVEY BAY. With clearer track he could have been closer the start prior and can chime in again here.

NIKITARAS (4) could not go with them here on Tuesday when the speed went on and he was left floundering in the running line. This looks a shade or 2 easier and he can be sharper for this.

SELECTIONS: LOMBO HEAVEN (2), ONE OFF (3), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (5), NIKITARAS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LOMBO HEAVEN (2) to win

RACE NINE

MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (8)
has been kept fresh since her last outing in the Bill Dixon and makes her 1st appearance for her 4YO term here. Only 2m in arrears of the flying STRADDIE last time out, forget her run 2 back when making an error. Tackling the older mares in the Queen of the Creek 3 starts back keeps her right in the mix here and the 2nd line options appeal.

ROCKITA (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe and was soon angled into the running line. Hitting the line in nice style, she was no match for SAUCY DREAMS who was able to pinch the race with an early forward move. Fitter for that run, the return to the big oval should suit.

A RAINBOW DELIGHT (2) resumes from a let-up and like her stablemate MISS RUBY SUNSHINE was last seen in the Bill Dixon. Only 4m in arrears in that event, she can look to fire the 1st shot here and will be right in the fight.

MORESCO (3) has gone 2 from 2 since returning from a spell under the care of Stephen Cini. Spearing off the arm to take them all the way over the 2138m trip last start, she can join in here.

SELECTIONS: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (8), ROCKITA (4), A RAINBOW DELIGHT (2), MORESCO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (8) to win

RACE TEN

SKYLINE (4) has hit the board in 5 of his past 6 starts, with the miss coming when making a mess at the release. Pressing on to take control last week at Redcliffe, it was only the flying NEEDABACARDI that was able to get past. He meets that winner 20m better off under these conditions and can capitalise.

NEEDABACARDI (9) has been in super form with 3 wins and 2 narrow 2nd placed runs in his past 5 outings. Settling into the running line, he was closing out hard last week at Redcliffe and swept on by to score a smart win. Back to 30m here is a bigger ask, but he has the form on the board to challenge.

JEDDY R YA READY (2) was pinned down on the pylons last start at Redcliffe and chased gamely to be 7m in arrears of the winner. Never too far away, back to the middle-distance suits and he can feature.

MATATOKI (1) will take benefit from his latest appearance when 1st up from a break. Chasing home from the 20m tape behind REDRIVERDEBBA, it was a sound effort. From the front over this trip suits.

SELECTIONS: SKYLINE (4), NEEDABACARDI (9), JEDDY R YA READY (2), MATATOKI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYLINE (4) to win
