RACE TWO

Forget the last start of BLACKSADANCE (10) here last week when striking trouble and having his chances evaporate. Returning from a freshen in that event, he showed he was up to the better ones in the Summer Carnival when finishing within a head of GOVERNOR JUJON in the 3YO Classic. The gate stings, but he can bounce back with vengeance.

GOING FOR GOLD (7) is undefeated in 3 starts since arriving in Qld for Jack Butler but faces the sternest test to date with both the rise in class and the tough alley. Sent around the field to take control last start, he was powered on to claim a smart win. Too slippery in front when 2nd up, this will be a good indication of the depth of the well.

GOOD AS IT GETS (4) retreated to secure position last start and was sound to the line when midfield behind WILL THE WIZARD. Tough in defeat the start prior in a blanket finish, he can find the podium here.

BOMB SUIT (8) will be requiring a slice of luck from this alley as he looks in danger of being pegged away. Grabbed in the closing strides last start at Redcliffe by BOHANNAN, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (10), GOING FOR GOLD (7), GOOD AS IT GETS (4), BOMB SUIT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (10) to win

RACE THREE

ONE CHANGE (7)
was clinical in his victory here last week when returning from a freshen. Sent around the field in the middle stages from gate 12 over the 2138m, he was content to race first over before putting the leader away to claim an easy 2m victory. Headed to the Carnival of Miracles, he can take some spending money from this.

IDEAL WORLD (4) started from inside the 2nd line here last week in a Veterans event and was soon buried in the run. Not sighting the gaps to challenge until it was all over, he still had plenty to offer when only 1m in arrears of the winner. Only beaten a neck 4 starts back by CHEVRONS REWARD, he will be gripping on.

MISTER DONALD (10) is another of the big team that is now prepared by Ricky Thurlow that was formerly prepared by Craig Cross. Finishing over the top of them to score from this gate last start, he has podium claims again.

HURRICANE ROY (2) has placed in 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest when attacking the line in smart order behind TENNYSON BROMAC. Runner-up at Redcliffe after a tough trip 2 starts back, he has place claims.

SELECTIONS: ONE CHANGE (7), IDEAL WORLD (4), MISTER DONALD (10), HURRICANE ROY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 7 / 1-2-4-10

RACE FOUR

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (4) will take good benefit from her return to the track last week when 1st up from a spell. Eased off the gate, she was soon positioned at the rear of the field before running home in some electric closing splits, breaking 54 and 27 for the closing 800/400. She can warm-up for an upcoming Sydney campaign in style here.

MAJOR CAM (7) made an uncharacteristic error last week when looking to make a move to get into the contest. That ended his chances when tailing the field as TURN IT UP cruised home in front. His win here 2 starts back over the 2138m was a huge win when last on the home turn and despite the tough alley can throw it down.

CLINTAL DO (1) has been charging home in his races and falling agonisingly close in recent outings. Charging home from a rearward position on Tuesday when 1m from the winner, he will be searching for the gaps here.

ROCK WITH SAM (3) made the most of conditions at Redcliffe 2 starts back to dictate from the front in an easy 3m victory. His effort was good last week behind TURN IT UP and if he can press on, will be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (4), MAJOR CAM (7), CLINTAL DO (1), ROCK WITH SAM (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (4) to win

RACE FIVE

The early and middle stages of this race are key and with speed from 1, 2, and 3 off the front, the winner of the early battle may not win the war. If taking the trail and seeing he lane with momentum, MAYWYNS COURAGE (1) can be the one to claim victory. Finishing strongly from the 2nd line to scire 2 starts back, he was game in claiming 3rd from the breeze last start.

KEY LARGO (2) took them all the way here on Tuesday from gate 1, holding some speedy customers to his outside at bay early and then seeing out the mile with 1m to spare. Not suited when forced to work in the breeze the start prior, if he can hot step it to the pegs, he will be in for the fight.

LEFT A TERROR (9) has been consistent of late, hitting the board at his past 5 in succession. Releasing from gate 1 last start before grabbing the silver behind MAJORDOIT, he can chime in again.

THE FORTUNATE SON (3) is not electric off the arm but continues to wind up when pressing forward and has pressed on to lead at his past 3. In for the fight last start when it took WILL THE WIZARD to gun him down. He steps up to Band 5 company to stay at the mile but can point the cannon at them.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS COURAGE (1), KEY LARGO (2), LEFT A TERROR (9), THE FORTUNATE SON (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

ALE ALE KAI (2)
was away from the inside early after drawing inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe 2 starts back before finishing strongly for a smart win. Holding up early before releasing to ALWAYS A SECRET over the 2138m last start, it was a smart 3rd behind ONE CHANGE. From this gate she can tuck in behind the speed and with a solid tempo looking on offer, can arrive for the prize.

SAUCY DREAMS (7) was put into the contest in the early stages last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip from the 2nd line. Proving too strong, she had 5m to spare on the line on a sloppy track with a smart last half. Runner-up to FROST EN ICE over the 2138m here 2 starts back, the wide gate and middle distance dent her chances to challenge.

NIMAH FRANCO (3) backs up from Tuesday when doing some early work before cover arrived over the mile. With the breeze horse wilting, she was then looking for runs when angled back to the inside and never really a danger. She can fire the 1st shot to feature in this.

JIGGLE AND JIVE (5) found the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start and was chasing gamely to grab the bronze behind SAUCY DREAM.  Cashing in from gate 1 the start prior, she will be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: ALE ALE KAI (2), SAUCY DREAMS (7), NIMAH FRANCO (3), JIGGLE AND JIVE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ALE ALE KAI (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

ALWAYS A SECRET (9) claimed a qualifier over the mile 4 starts back when sent to the front from gate 3 and once in control was never in danger to score an easy 6m victory. Runner-up at his past 2 in succession, the latest was a smart effort behind the star ONE CHANGE. That followed a tough effort the start prior and he looms as a huge threat.

CHERRYS THE BEST (1) eased from gate 6 to find position last start over the mile and was soon 4 back against the inside. Making a closing challenge, she was attacking the line strongly to get within a head of the winner RIVERLEIGH ROCKET. Not far away the start prior from a tough gate, the improved alley is a big plus here.

BOHANNAN (2) has been super consistent of late, hitting the board at his past 7 in succession in Saturday night company. Wide off the track when trying to chime in from gate 12 last start, he will be right there from this alley.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (8) bounced back to winning form last start when scoring on the grass at Kilcoy. Not that far from the action leading up to the latest win, he can secure an economical trip to feature.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS A SECRET (9), CHERRYS THE BEST (1), BOHANNAN (2), COURAGEOUS SAINT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE EIGHT

Returning from a le-up in fine order with successive wins, BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (6) faces a tough gate as she looks to complete a hat-trick of victories. Starting from the 2nd line last week, she worked home over the top of them to claim a smart win over the mile. Too strong in front when resuming, the gate hurts but a threepeat is on.

TRUE STEPPER (2) tackled the 2138m trip last start when easing in the early stages from gate 4. Settling back in the pack, she could not go with them when the power went on. Not that far away behind SOHO TSUNAMI the start prior when 1st up from a let-up, she can capitalise from this alley to challenge.

ROCKITA (7) has been runner-up in both appearances since heading North. Formerly prepared by Craig Cross, she was only 8m in arrears of A RAINBOW DELIGHT last start. The gate hurts but she can feature.

LOOKING FABULOUS (8) made an error last start that saw her banished to the trials. Earning the return with an effortless hit out, she is yet to win in Qld but with 2nd line options here can chime in.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (6), TRUE STEPPER (2), ROCKITA (7), LOOKING FABULOUS (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

STRADDIE (6) started from this same gate last start and was obliged to work hard in pressing forward to find the breeze. In a strong mile, he only faded in the closing stages when 7m in arrears of the winner TENNYSON BROMAC. The gate is a stinger once again, but with 4 successive wins prior to his last appearance, he can bounce back.

SPEEDY DOMINIC (5) set the speed from this gate last start over the mile and kept the power on throughout but was unable to see it out when 6.5m from the winner. Putting on a power running display over this trip 2 starts back, he brutalised his opponents into submission. He can throw it down again here.

IMASPORTSSTAR (4) would probably be better suited at the mile, but if able to tuck in behind can be the fresh horse on the scene if the power is too strong. Luckless last start when locked away on the poles, he can be chiming in.

LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (7) has no favours from the carpark as he steps out under the care of Ricky Thurlow for the 1st time. Closing strongly from gate 10 last start, limiting the early burn will be key to his chances.

SELECTIONS: STRADDIE (6), SPEEDY DOMINIC (5), IMASPORTSSTAR (4), LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: STRADDIE (6) to win

RACE TEN

SKYLINE (2) was keen before the start here last week and was a bit fizzy as the field was being readied for release. Settling into the running line after being a little tardily away, he tried to make a closing move as they swung for home but could not match the closing power of the winner. If he can get to the front, he will give them something to chase.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (3) did some early work before cover arrived last week and then when looking to make his run was in a jam and could not find the space when it was needed, and the momentum was lost. The longer trip should suit and with a safe start, he can throw down a challenge to them.

MUSCULUS (5) looked good in a recent trial at his 1st public appearance for the Dixon stable. A DJA Heat winner 2 starts back over the 2138m, the longer trip 1st up is a query for this, but his class cannot be dismissed.

RED CASTLETON (8) scorched the stretch here last week with am amazing turn of speed to charge home to a smart win. Buried in the run, once angled into space he attacked with venom. Back to the 30m tape might make it a little tougher.

SELECTIONS: SKYLINE (2), SIR FAHRENHEIT (3), MUSCULUS (5), RED CASTLETON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (3) each-way
