RACE TWO

THATSWHATISAID (1) steps out for Jack Butler for the 1st time and comes into the race in great form, having 3 wins and a pair of 2nds in his past 5. Rolling to the front last start over the Menangle Mile, he kept them running to score a comfortable victory. With the gate advantage he will look to dictate.

THE ANNOUNCER (5) was strong from the breeze last start when rolling forward from gate 6 and proving too strong over the 2138m trip. He was strong to the line the start prior when wide and chasing in a slick closing 800m panel set from the front and will be in for the fight here.

AIR TIME (12) is bursting to open his Qld account, having been the runner-up in all 4 appearances. Last time out he charged late when the gaps arrived to go under a neck and he will be swooping.

TENNYSON BROMAC (2) struck some trouble in the JC McMullen and despite being well beaten, his splits were sharp as he found the line nicely. Only 3m away the start prior, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: THATSWHATISAID (1), THE ANNOUNCER (5), AIR TIME (12), TENNYSON BROMAC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THATSWHATISAID (1) to win

RACE THREE

VASARI (2) started from this same gate in a qualifier last week and was beaten for early speed when settling 1x2 in the running line. He worked home soundly to grab 4th, with his previous 2 outings coming from 2nd line gates. He strikes a winnable race here and if dictating can put them away.

ROYAL LINCOLN (10) was devoid of luck last start when buried in the run and never seeing the space to make a challenge. Taken back in the early stages from gate 6 the start prior, he was finding the line strongly when getting within a neck of the winner WE SALUTE YOU. He can challenge hard here.

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (8) struck trouble in the JC McMullen last start and couldn’t get into the contest. A smart winner the start prior, if he can find space in time, he will make his presence felt.

BEE GEES BANDIT (6) resumes from a freshen, with his last appearance coming when chasing in vain in a sizzling mile claimed by OLIVER WINKLE. A tidy winner over this trip 3 starts back, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: VASARI (2), ROYAL LINCOLN (10), SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (8), BEE GEES BANDIT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-6-8-10

RACE FOUR

FAME ASSURED (5)
is hitting her peak at the perfect time and will come into this race after securing a hat-trick of wins last time out. Settling back in the pack from a 2nd line draw, she savaged the line over this trip to claim a 4m victory. Tough in the breeze the start prior, she looks tough to beat.

JOSSIE JAMES (4) settled back in the field last week and chased valiantly despite not being able to eat into the deficit as ELENIARK controlled the race from the breeze. Strong to the line in smart sectionals the start prior, finding position will be key to her chances as she looks to swoop late.

ELENIARK (7) was too strong for them last week as she rolled the sleeves to score from the breeze. That was good reward following her previous 2 runs and despite the tough gate will be in the fight.

OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1) wasn’t really suited last start from gate 5 when forced to snag back and then try to make a closing play. With the cheap run, look for her diving through the gaps.

SELECTIONS: FAME ASSURED (5), JOSSIE JAMES (4), ELENIARK (7), OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FAME ASSURED (5) to win

RACE FIVE

A cracking contest over the 2138m awaits here with the All Stars pair set to get a real contest courtesy of LOCHINVAR ART (3) who arrives having never missed a top-3 placing in 23 outings. Last start he had to settle for the silver in the NSW Breeders Challenge Final when beaten a half-neck. Game when 3m from HARDHITTER in the semis after facing the breeze, he gets his chance with the gate advantage.

SELF ASSURED (10) continued his winning ways to take his career to 4 from 4 in claiming the G3 JC McMullen last start. Away from the inside 2nd line in the early stages, he was allowed to amble up to the breeze with 100m left to travel. Settling down to fight it out with ALTA ORLANDO, his class shone through to take the prize. He will need to take the next step again, but he looks all class.

JESSE DUKE (6) led them up at his debut run here at the Creek and developing into a sit and sizzle, he was grabbed right on the wire by SELF ASSURED. A G1 star in his own right, he can’t be ignored and with the right run, they will know he is there.

MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (8) was forced to work in the breeze in the NSW BC Fina and fought gamely when 10m from the winner. He will get the chance to come with 1 run here and can be closing hard when the gaps arrive to fill the minors.

SELECTIONS: LOCHINVAR ART (3), SELF ASSURED (10), JESSE DUKE (6), MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 3-10 / 3-6-10 / 3-5-6-8-11

RACE SIX

OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY (4)
made her Qld debut in fine style here last week and sent to the breeze from the 2nd line, her class oozed as she was able to pack too many guns in the run to the wire for a half-neck victory. That was her 1st race in 5 weeks and with the added fitness, the improved gate and the class, she looks over the line.

WRITE ABOUT LEXY (1) started from gate 7 in the SE Oaks last week and was forced to retreat early and from back in the pack never was able to work into the contest. A big winner at the barriers, she possesses the early speed to release the lead when needed and with that trip, she will get every chance to finish in the money.

WAHS FIRE BUG (8) chased gamely to hold 3rd behind OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY last week at her biggest test thus far in her lightly-raced career. With the easy trip along the markers on offer here, she can again chime into the money.

MISS STREISAND (10) was game in defeat last week after leading them up and pushing the fav to the wire. Stripping fitter for that run after being 1st up from a break, she doesn’t have any favours from this gate but will be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY (4), WRITE ABOUT LEXY (1), WAHS FIRE BUG (8), MISS STREISAND (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4 / 1-8 / 1-8 / 9-10

RACE SEVEN

LITTLE RASCAL (8) started fav here last week but was soon buried away in the run and with the sloppy conditions and the race dictated from the front, those chasing were facing a task. Only 2m from COURTSINSESSION at Menangle the start prior, he will be poised and ready to take the snipers shot.

MARETTI (1) started from this gate last start over the 2138m but didn’t have the speed to hold them out and soon found himself 3 back on the poles, chasing gamely for 3rd to BEAVER. He will need to be stoked up early, but back to the mile and firing out of the machine, he will get his chance.

CRUZ (11) was a smart winner at his Qld debut here last start when sliding forward early before landing the 1x1 trail and finishing over the top to score. He will need some luck from this alley, but with a solid tempo looking likely, he can charge home.

LEOS BEST (7) ended up being shuffled back in the running line last week and that followed a run where he never saw space. While he doesn’t receive many favours again here from the gate, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: LITTLE RASCAL (8), MARETTI (1), CRUZ (11), LEOS BEST (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LITTLE RASCAL (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

The Garrards Sunshine Sprint will be held at Group 1 level for the 2nd time and the barrier draw has really made COLT THIRTY ONE (2) the horse to beat. Winning his past 5 in succession, he was able to find the front with ease last week over the 2680m trip and once in control was never in danger to score a 4m victory. He faces open G1 company for the 1st time and looks set to make the transition with consummate ease.

OUR UNCLE SAM (4) contested this race last year when finishing nearer to last. Since that he has been to just about every big race and been in the mix in them all. 2nd up in the Len Smith Mile last start, he was game chasing MAJORDAN when beaten a head in 1.49.6. He can serve it up here and with his seasoning since the 2018 edition, will be in for the scrap.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (10) might not have the runs on the board, but it hasn’t been through lack of effort in his outings. With some mighty closing sectionals in recent outings, he can follow through early and can look to descend on them.

WATCH PULP FICTION (8) might not be a winning chance in this race, but with a soft run in transit and his sharp closing speed, can be looking to hit the gaps late and chime into the minors.

SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (2), OUR UNCLE SAM (4), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (10), WATCH PULP FICTION (8)
SUGGESTED BET: COLT THIRTY ONE (2) to win

RACE NINE

MAJESTIC COURTNEY (8)
is 3 from 3 at AP and with the benefit of the front tape looks to have a stranglehold on this race. Stepping to the front over this trip 2 starts back he took control in front and claimed a new track record. He found an easy target last start from the mobile and back to the stand, looks tough to stop in this.

OUR OVERANOVA (13) made the most of a good alley over the mobile 2138m trip last start and after walking them through the opening 800m, was able to ramp the tempo to score a comfortable victory. He was off 50m here 2 starts back when beaten 12m behind MAJESTIC COURTNEY and from the 35m gets in well.

TOUGH MONARCH (12) was forced to ease back in the early stages from the mobile last start to find position and then against the tempo, never really made a dent on the differential. Placed at G1 level at his previous 2 starts, he will be fitter following the 1st up run and will be in the fight.

NEEDLE (9) did her share of work in the run last start from the mobile after pressing forward from the 2nd line to find the breeze. A beaten fav the start prior, she can be in the money under these conditions.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC COURTNEY (8), OUR OVERANOVA (13), TOUGH MONARCH (12), NEEDLE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC COURTNEY (8) to win

RACE TEN

MISTERY ROAD (11)
isn’t afforded any favours once again from the barrier, after starting from 7 twice and the six-hole once in his 3 Qld appearances. His latest run was full of merit when sent forward to the breeze at the 1000m and rolling the sleeves was doing the hard yards when getting within a neck. Only beaten a head 2 starts back, he can cash-in here.

MY ULTIMATE STAR (3) made a winning start to his Northern sojourn at Redcliffe on Wed night when rolling forward from gate 6 and putting them away from the breeze to score in good style. He made a mess of the NSW BC semi behind JILLIBY NITRO the start prior and will be in the fight in this.

TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1) will take further benefit from her maiden breaking win when 2nd up and lands the right gate to feature here. Taking them all the way last start and holding on to score narrowly, she will be in the mix here.

DATALDO (4) will appreciate the absence of GOVERNOR JUJON, having met him 4 of his past 5 appearances. He found it too tough in the breeze last start in the Paleface Adios and can be sharper against this competition.

SELECTIONS: MISTERY ROAD (11), MY ULTIMATE STAR (3), TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1), DATALDO (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
