RACE TWO

Shooting for a hat-trick last time he hit the track, TOM ME GUN (2) had to roll the sleeves and do the hard yards when finishing 6m from the winner FAME ASSURED. The start prior he arrived right on the wire to claim victory up the passing lane and with good early speed will have bullets to fire.

WHISKEY BLAZE (9) can secure the pocket trail if the emergency is not required and with good closing speed will be coiled and awaiting the gaps. Releasing from gate 1 last week, he was only 1.5m from the winner PRESTONPANS after using the passing lane and will be ready to strike in this.

LIKEALLOFUS (1) started from gate 10 last time out and just needed some space sooner than it arrived. With a good closing sprint, he will get the perfect trip to be dressed and ready to dance.

JUMPING JOLT (11) will take good benefit from his run here on Tues when attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the bronze. With a cart into the contest, look for him finishing hard.

SELECTIONS: TOM ME GUN (2), WHISKEY BLAZE (9), LIKEALLOFUS (1), JUMPING JOLT (11)
SUGGESTED BET: Play the pegs 2 / 1-9 / 1-9-10-11

RACE THREE

BEAVER (2) rolled to the front prior to releasing for the trail last start over the 2138m. With the gaps opening in the stretch, he was able to finish best in claiming a 3m victory. With wins in 2 of his past 4, he has good speed off the arm and back to the mile, gets his chance to take them all the way.

CRUZ (1) returned from a spell in fine style to win his 1st outing here at The Creek 2 starts back when arriving in time over the 2138m trip. Last start over the mile from gate 10, he settled in the running line when 8m from the winner SALOON PASSAGE. With options from the gate, he gets every chance.

MATTGREGOR (10) returns from a spell and has been to the trials twice in preparation, the latest when blowing the cobwebs out with a solid hit-out. The gate dents his chances, yet he can feature.

SLICE OF HEAVEN (12) found a suitable mid-week target last start when capitalising on the class drop to score a nice win after circling them in the early stages. He will need to do some work wide out.

SELECTIONS: BEAVER (2), CRUZ (1), MATTGREGOR (10), SLICE OF HEAVEN (12)
SUGGESTED BET: BEAVER (2) to win

RACE FOUR

The draw for this G3 feature has dealt a few of these a tough blow including CULLENBURN (12) who looks well placed here after tackling the Sunshine Sprint last week. From gate 10 he found the line in nice order to be 7m from the winner. Only 4m from COLT THIRTY ONE the start prior in the Lucky Creed, he can overcome the tough alley to claim this.

PRESTONPANS (1) lands the 1st blow by virtue of the ace gate and will be looking to secure successive victories for the 1st time since arriving in Aus. Spearing to the front from gate 3 last week, he took control over the 2138m and had too much power to claim victory. This is a step up but the gate is a huge plus.

FAME ASSURED (5) was brave in defeat last start, never being closer than 3-wide the trip in a new track record. Only 9m from the winner ANNIKA MAGIC, it was full of merit and had followed 3 successive victories. The gate again is a stinger, but she is in the mix.

TENNYSON BROMAC (3) found the line in good style last week to grab the bronze behind THATSWHATISAID. Luckless the start prior in the JC McMullen, he can work if needed to feature.

SELECTIONS: CULLENBURN (12), PRESTONPANS (1), FAME ASSURED (5), TENNYSON BROMAC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CULLENBURN (12) to win

RACE FIVE

AMAYA BECOMES (5) started from gate 10 in the Breeders Classic and charged home strongly to arrive for a nice win. Only beaten a half-neck at her next outing when 1st up in 7 weeks, she then struck GOVERNOR JUJON in both the heat and Final of the Redcliffe Sales Series. Back to her own sex here, she can claim an open Triad.

FEELS LIKA WINNER (2) makes her 1st appearance at AP following 3 NSW starts and then a 3rd at her Qld debut when 7m from MY ULTIMATE STAR at Redcliffe. Finding the line nicely in the Pink Bonnet at her 2nd start, she will get the options if the emergency is not required and can give this a shake.

FROST EN ICE (8) is another that will appreciate lining up against fillies only and will be tightened from 2 runs since returning from a break. A winner of the Changeover Classic back in March, with a soft trip, she can sprint hard if the gaps arrive in time.

JIGGLE AND JIVE (6) settled in the pocket trail last start and chased gamely to hold 2nd behind the star colt GOVERNOR JUJON. An easy Redcliffe winner 2 starts back when returning from a break, if she can find position cheaply in this, look for her descending on them in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: AMAYA BECOMES (5), FEELS LIKA WINNER (2), FROST EN ICE (8), JIGGLE AND JIVE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FROST EN ICE (8) to place

RACE SIX

TOUGH MONARCH (12)
will be further tightened from his run last week when 2nd up from a break. Returning over the 2138m mobile, he didn’t have things his own way from gate 5 when down the line. Pressing ahead from his 35m tape last start, he was wide in the run when fighting gamely and only 1.5m from the winner MAJESTIC COURTNEY. Fitter, he can show his class in this.

OUR OVERANOVA (13) started from 60m in this race last year and wasn’t far away at the finish. Back to a 35m impost in the 2019 edition, he was hitting the line in great order in the Qld Cup last week when within 5m of the winner. A brilliant beginner, the distance is no worry and he is more than up to this.

MAJESTIC COURTNEY (11) is yet to taste defeat in 4 appearances here at The Creek, and moves back 10m following his success here last week when arriving up the passing lane. Claiming the 2647m track record by becoming the 1st to break 2.00 for the trip here 3 starts back, he is right in the fight.

MIRACLE RISING (3) has been around the money of late without landing a knock-out punch. From the pocket trail last start he was within 1.5m of the winner and 2 starts back from the mobile was only 3.5m from OUR OVERANOVA. With good manners, he can be in the right position to feature.

SELECTIONS: TOUGH MONARCH (12), OUR OVERANOVA (13), MAJESTIC COURTNEY (11), MIRACLE RISING (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TOUGH MONARCH (12) to win

RACE SEVEN

With a perfect record of 5 starts for 5 wins SELF ASSURED (4) will be out to claim his 1st Group 1 victory and complete what has been a superb Winter Carnival. Pressing ahead from the 2nd line to sit outside the leader, he was too strong in a sizzling closing 800m, arriving right on the wire. This guy could be anything and looks to have it all. Sit back and enjoy the show.

OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY (10) will look to become the 1st filly since Oaxaca Lass back in 2002 to claim the Qld Derby and although she is a super filly, the task will be tough from the 2nd line. Clinical in putting away the Oaks field in a comfortable 11m victory and breaking the 3YO fillies track record in the process, she can lay down a serious challenge.

LOCHINVAR ART (6) pounced on the poles from gate 2 last start and setting it up for a sprint home was somehow beaten by SELF ASSURED despite setting a ridiculously slick last 800m. Yet to miss a place in 24 appearances, he will be in the fight.

MAKE WAY (1) was the big winner from Tuesday’s hat-grab when scoring the ace. Only 8m in arrears in the SE Derby after settling in the running line, he will get a great trip from this gate and will be trying to mount a late challenge.

SELECTIONS: SELF ASSURED (4), OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY (10), LOCHINVAR ART (6), MAKE WAY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 4 / 6-10 / 1-2-6-10

RACE EIGHT

Having already sewn up the Grand Circuit trophy, TIGER TARA (12) will head to Brisbane looking to fortify the Series and add to what has been a superb season. Sent for a spell following a tough Miracle Mile, he returned in top shape over the Menangle 2300m when pressing forward from gate 9, taking control and scoring a smart win. Despite the gate he should be too powerful.

OUR UNCLE SAM (2) was retired within the opening 100m of the Sunshine Sprint after striking trouble at the start. Beaten a head when 2nd up the start prior in the Len Smith Mile at Menangle, he chased the leader MAJORDAN gamely. In what has been a superb season, he will need to work hard to take this.

ROCK WITH SAM (6) caught the eye in the Sunshine Sprint when snagging back from a wide gate and then in the stretch was caught in grid-lock, never seeing space at all and going to the line untested, yet just 8m from the winner. Placed in both lead-ups via the passing lane, he might just have the early pace to get across and then take cover.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8) returned another top run in the Sunshine Sprint, hitting the line hard-held as he was probing for some clear space. He will be relying on luck from this gate, but if able to see space with track in hand, look for him charging home.

SELECTIONS: TIGER TARA (12), OUR UNCLE SAM (2), ROCK WITH SAM (6), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TIGER TARA (12) to win

RACE NINE

GOVERNOR JUJON (6)
will get his chance to complete the season undefeated, coming into this race with a perfect 5 from 5 form sheet. It was merely a training hit-out for him last start when dictating in front from gate 1 in the Paleface Adios, ripping home in 27.1. He was strong 2 starts back in claiming the Redcliffe Sales Final and despite the tough gate, he looks to have their measure.

MISTERY ROAD (9) is yet to score victory in 4 starts since arriving in Qld, yet that doesn’t tell the true story of how well he is actually going. Runner-up at his past 3 starts, they have been from gates 6, 7 and 10 and each time he has been working hard in the run, running strong sectionals and finishing close-up in each. If he can grab a cart into the contest, he can throw down the challenge.

EXPENSIVE EGO (4) arrives from NSW with a perfect 2 from 2 record for David Thorn, his latest win a tough effort at Newcastle when beating older horses over the longer 2030m trip. A big Menangle winner on debut, he looks a smart colt in the making.

WILL THE WIZARD (11) has missed a cheque once in 5 appearances and comes into this race fresh with his last start a win here on Jun 14. Spearing out to take them all the way from gate 5, it was a bold front-running win. The gate hurts, but his Breeders win saw him charge home to arrive and he will be hoping to repeat that here.

SELECTIONS: GOVERNOR JUJON (6), MISTERY ROAD (9), EXPENSIVE EGO (4), WILL THE WIZARD (11)
SUGGESTED BET: GOVERNOR JUJON (6) to win

RACE TEN

BODHI TREE (1)
will take good benefit from his run here on Tues when returning from a break and having not been to the public trials in readiness. Striking trouble when the small field was dismantled at the 300m, he reset and chased gamely for 2nd. With all the options from the gate, he can add another success.

SECRET JACK (4) is working towards a win after some solid efforts in recent starts. Locked away from an inside 2nd line gate last start, he found the line well when 5m from the winner. Luckless the start prior, he can press forward from this gate and with the ability to work, can throw down a challenge.

BEE GEES BANDIT (5) will take great benefit from his run here last week when returning from a freshen. Rolling forward from gate 6, he hung tough in the breeze when 2m from the winner. This is tougher but he can build on the return.

EFFRONTE (8) took on a mid-week FFA last time and from gate 11 tracked home well for the bronze when 7m from the winner SLICE OF HEAVEN. With a cosy trip available, he will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: BODHI TREE (1), SECRET JACK (4), BEE GEES BANDIT (5), EFFRONTE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BODHI TREE (1) to win
