RACE TWO

CRAZY BEN (8) has placed in 2 of his 3 starts since joining the Ryan Veivers barn and may just have found the right conditions here for the breakthrough. Settling in the running line from 20m last start, he was chasing hard for the bronze as IDEFENSIBLE scored. In an open trot, he can arrive.

SOH TWISTED (6) is a rocket from the tapes in recent starts and she can look to shoot out early to get in a prominent position. Runner-up last start after settling in the pocket trail from a 10m tape, she was setting the tempo 2 starts back when collared in the stretch. She will be in the fight again.

THE REAPER (12) has the big 60m tape to overcome as he shoots for a hat-trick of wins. Buried in the run 2 starts back, he savaged the line for a strong win and followed it with a narrow win last time.

EL SWAVO (5) has been winless a long time now, but this is the type of race that he might just bob up in the money. Given a lift of 10m off recent starts, he will not be too far away with the right trip.

SELECTIONS: CRAZY BEN (8), SOH TWISTED (6), THE REAPER (12), EL SWAVO (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

NIFTY STUDLEIGH (9) has been thereabouts without really looking like threatening for a victory in recent starts, yet he might have found the right conditions here. From gate 10 over the mile here 2 starts back, he worked home nicely, and last start wasn’t suited at the 2138m. This is within reach.

BOPPIN THE BLUES (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 outings over this trip, the latest when 4m from the in-form ITS SUPER EASY. His run 2 back had merit when best of the chasing bunch behind the big winner BLACK HAWK JOE in a slick mile and with a soft trip here, can strike in the stretch.

SUNNY RICE (2) is still a maiden after 14 attempts and again is facing off against more experienced rivals. Forced to race tough when only 3m from the winner 2 starts back, she can feature in this.

TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (7) has the wide gate to negotiate, yet she will be further tightened from her last start victory when 3rd up from a spell. Taking them all the way in that, she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: NIFTY STUDLEIGH (9), BOPPIN THE BLUES (1), SUNNY RICE (2), TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NIFTY STUDLEIGH (9) to win

RACE FOUR

HOLY CAMP DILLON (2)
went around in the SE Derby last start where his run was full of merit in finishing mid-field. Snagged back from a wide gate, he was looking for short-cuts and hitting dead-ends yet still ran a sub 54 last 800m. Lightly raced, with the improved gate he can capitalise here.

A RAINBOW DELIGHT (6) returned from a spell in superb fashion last start when sent straight to the front from gate 4. With the power on throughout, she was clinical in front running a 54.7 closing 800m split to keep them chasing in vain. Fitter again the gate is a concern, but she is up to it.

ITS SUPER EASY (3) will be in search of a hat-trick after wins at the mile and then last start at the 2138m. Pressing forward to lead the pack here 2 starts back, he might need to do some work here.

RED TERROR (1) steps up a shade in grade, yet will take good benefit from the ace gate where he can look to secure a cosy run. Runner-up at 3 of his past 5 at Redcliffe, he can be probing.

SELECTIONS: HOLY CAMP DILLON (2), A RAINBOW DELIGHT (6), ITS SUPER EASY (3), RED TERROR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLY CAMP DILLON (2) to win

RACE FIVE

This looks a tricky race to dissect with the early speed questionable. Leaning to BUMPER (8) off the map that the 1 will look to lead and if that scenario eventuates, he will come right into calculations. Leading them all the way to score 2 starts back, he was game from the breeze last start. With the right run he can take the closing shot.

TACT BESS (1) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts and lands the gate to look to go one better this time. Snagging back to find position last start, she was strong to the line in the closing stages behind THE CRUISE MISSILE and may have been closer with a cleaner passage. Gets her chance.

CLASSIE AMERICAN (10) does not have many favours from this gate however he is getting closer to a victory. Runner-up last start behind SUBTLE DELIGHT after releasing from gate 1, this looks a shade easier.

MYMATEPOG (9) has faced some tough gates his past 2 outings where he has been forced to make ground against the up-front tempo which just hasn’t suited. With the right trip, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: BUMPER (8), TACT BESS (1), CLASSIE AMERICAN (10), MYMATEPOG (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

This is another tricky race where the early speed from the 2138m release to sort the field out looks critical. WICKED AZZ (3) was runner-up at both her 1st 2 starts in Qld, the 2nd of those a nice effort behind ANOTHER STATEMENT. Finding the SE Oaks, a bit out of reach, she capitalised last start in a new PB rate in scoring over the mile. From the gate she can look to repeat.

IMASPORTSTAR (7) will be having his 3rd start since arriving in Qld and lines up from the seven-hole for the 2nd time. His effort to be runner-up from this gate when 1st up in the state 2 starts back was full of merit and then last start was obliged to cut the breeze in a slick mile. Needs some luck.

CALLMEDEMARO (1) has the options off the ace and with that in mind looks a podium player. 4m in arrears of WICKED AZZ after releasing her to the front last start, he can be searching for gaps again.

MISS MONEYBAGS (10) could not work into it last start as ROCKNROLL CLASSIC had the power on out in front, which had followed a tough run. The middle-distance suits and she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: WICKED AZZ (3), IMASPORTSTAR (7), CALLMEDEMARO (1), MISS MONEYBAGS (10)
SUGGESTED BET: WICKED AZZ (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (6) was tough in the breeze here 3 starts back when fighting for 2nd behind PELOSI and followed that with a slick mile when grabbed in the closing strides by UNCLE JORD. That run was franked with a slick 52 flat mile in front last start. The wide gate and 2138m are of some concern, but he can put the power on.

JUST DEAL IT (3) did some early work last start before cover arrived and then held on to hold 3rd behind HAVANA MOON when 4m in arrears. Not much went right in a strong mares race the start prior which had followed 3 successive placed runs. Firing the 1st shot, she can make a challenge.

COMMODORE JUJON (9) was obliged to cut the breeze last start in a qualifier after working forward from gate 6 and was win for the fight when holding 2nd. He may need to work at some point yet has claims.

DATITUDE (12) doesn’t have any favours from gate 12 however he has been in good touch with a top-3 in 15 of 21 outings this season. 5m from ROCKNROLL CLASSIC last start after settling rearward, he can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (6), JUST DEAL IT (3), COMMODORE JUJON (9), DATITUDE (12) SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

MACH TORQUE (10) comes up with the tough gate and although normally better suited up near the pointy end, she might just have found the right qualifier. Buried in the run from inside the 2nd line last start, she was charging home to be within 3m of the winner. With a rub of the green in transit, the eve of her centenary of starts can be fruitful.

BEYOND A SHADOW (1) backs-up from Tuesday where she was able to squeeze into the pocket trail from gate 2. With the soft trip, she then made a solid challenge in the stretch to get within 2.5m of the dictating winner COPPERFIELD. With the cosy trip on offer, she can take the closing shot.

RUNFORTHEROSES (2) retreated from gate 5 last start and once back in the pack was facing a task as LOVE MY SISTER took control. From the improved gate she can fire the 1st shot and be gripping on.

SPORTS STORY (6) worked across from gate 5 to set the speed last start and the tempo was on throughout when she just faded the closing stages. The gate stings, but she is getting closer to a win in one of these qualifiers.

SELECTIONS: MACH TORQUE (10), BEYOND A SHADOW (1), RUNFORTHEROSES (2), SPORTS STORY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH TORQUE (10) to win

RACE NINE

WATTLEBANK FLYER (8) took on the 2138m trip last start when landing gate 7 he was snagged back to the pegs looking for some short-cuts. A winner here 3 starts back when using the passing lane, he looks set for the perfect trip in behind the speed and can be ready to take the snipers shot.

KETUT (6) eased from gate 5 last start over the Redcliffe 2040m trip and when asked for the effort sprinted sharply to arrive for a stylish win. The gate stings, but with his sit-sprint pattern he will be enjoying the tempo on up front. Back to claiming company is a big plus and will be attacking late.

COMPLY OR DIE (1) set the tempo in this grade 2 starts back when spearing across from 4 to lead, holding on for the bronze. Not too far away on Tues in stronger company, he will be the target.

FEEL THE REIGN (5) eased from gate 6 last start and from back in the pack then didn’t have the cleanest passage to the wire yet was still only 5m in arrears of the winner. He has claims in this.

SELECTIONS: WATTLEBANK FLYER (8), KETUT (6), COMPLY OR DIE (1), FEEL THE REIGN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: WATTLEBANK FLYER (8) to win
