RACE TWO

It may only be a frontline for this mobile trot, yet it shapes as a good contest with multiple winning hopes. Leaning to MATATOKI (4) who has been kept fresh in recent times but does have a nice record from the mobile. Game in the breeze over the 2138m last start when only 5m from the winner GREG THE GREAT, he can breakthrough.

IS SOMETHINGBURNING (1) likely holds the key to this race from the gate, yet she is 0 and 2 from the mobile. Charging home last start from the 30m tape to get within 1m of the winner AVEROSS DON. In nice touch with 3 wins at her past 7 starts, this will be her 1st mobile start after 19 appearances here at The Creek.

MELPARK MAGIC (2) was the Emergency for the Qld Trotters Cup on Sat night, but has scratched in preference to tackle this. Locked away on the pegs last start, he closed nicely when 6m from the winner IM THE COMMANDO and he can tuck in behind any pressure to swoop.

THE REAPER (3) was looking for a hat-trick of victories here on Friday when facing a 60m handicap. Better suited back to these conditions where he can settle close to the speed, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: MATATOKI (4), IS SOMETHINGBURNING (1), MELPARK MAGIC (2), THE REAPER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MATATOKI (4) to win

RACE THREE

FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (2) is under a big query cloud here, arriving with NSW based Dean Cernovskis, having his 1st start in Qld after his last start came at Gloucester Park in Perth. Looking to get into this race with a very light rating, anything near his best would see him waltz home in this.

ABERCROMBIE TAB (6) has placed at his past 2 over the 2138m, the latest when sent to the breeze and forced to hang tough when 5m in arrears of the winner JIVE. Holding on for the bronze behind ITS SUPER EASY the start prior, he does not get any favours from this gate but looks a challenger.

FAST IS BETTOR (1) will take good advantage from this alley as she lines up for her 3rd start since joining the Frisby team. Using the passing lane from this gate last week when down the line over the 2138m, the return to the mile suits.

FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (10) started in red figures last time out at Redcliffe when sent forward to park outside the leader over the 1780m. Wilting under the workload, he can atone here with a quieter trip.

SELECTIONS: FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (2), ABERCROMBIE TAB (6), FAST IS BETTOR (1), FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

HES SWEET (5)
has placed in all 3 outings in Qld, the past 2 when going under as the punters elect. Utilising gate 1 to set the tempo last start, he had the speed on when fading the closing strides as JUSTA LITTLE BIT arrived for the win. Dead game the start prior at Redcliffe after doing a mountain of work, he can take this.

FAST TRACKER (2) worked into the pocket trail last start from gate 2 and with the cosy trip pulled clear when the space opened to claim a decisive 12m victory. Wide gates had plagued his efforts prior to that and with the confidence of the win and another good gate, he looms large.

NONE GRATER (1) caught the eye last start at Redcliffe when attacking the line in good style to grab the silver behind PORTSEA PRINCE after settling a long way back. From the gate, he has claims.

SHERBETS CHOICE (10) can look to tuck in just behind the speed here and if the pressure is too much, can be offering the closing shot. Yet to miss a cheque in 4 career starts, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: HES SWEET (5), FAST TRACKER (2), NONE GRATER (1), SHERBETS CHOICE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: HES SWEET (5) to win

RACE FIVE

BAILEYS WITH LEGS (4) is still a maiden after 15 attempts yet has been moving closer to a victory with her 4 placings coming in her past 6 starts. Importantly, she will get back to her own sex here, after running into some smart ‘boys’ of late. With early speed, she might just break the maiden tag.

ROYAL PRINCESS (11) had been building towards a win following some handy performances, including a close 2nd when beaten a head. Capitalising on gate 2 last start at Redcliffe, she went straight to the front and was then never in danger in claiming a 3m victory, The gate stings, but she is up to the challenge.

AUNTY BELLA (5) found the pocket trail from gate 2 last start where the easy trip made the difference in claiming a half-neck victory. With the winning confidence, she can feature once again.

DELIGHTFUL REASON (10) has been the bridesmaid in 3 of her 6 career starts as she too looks for a maiden breaking win. Forced to work hard in the breeze last start when best of the rest behind FAST TRACKER, back to fillies only helps her cause.

SELECTIONS: BAILEYS WITH LEGS (4), ROYAL PRINCESS (11), AUNTY BELLA (5), DELIGHTFUL REASON (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BAILEYS WITH LEGS (4) to win

RACE SIX

AT WEST POINT (4) quite possibly has required new racing plates, after his past 2 starts, having scorched the track in successive outings. Smashing the Redcliffe track record 2 starts back with a dominating 1.53.3, he then repeated the speed here last week when sizzling around the 1000m oval in 51 flat. Add to that a 51.9 win 4 starts back, another big mile looks on the cards.

ESCALERA (1) backs up from Sat night where was right in the fight and not far from the action. Claiming a qualifier, the start prior when 2nd up from a spell, it was a controlled opening half over the 2138m before dialling it up in a sub 54 closing 800m panel. He can take the slipstream trail and try to offer some form of challenge.

UNCLE JORD (9) was a gallant winner here 2 starts back when doing all the bullocking work and still having the power to fight them off. Gate 7 beat him last start as AT WEST POINT lay it down last week and he will be chasing again.

GAME SET MAJOR (5) returns to Qld for a Winter tilt at further success after opening his win account here last year at his 1st race appearance. Winning a further 3 races and placed 4 times in his 10 starts since, he arrives here 2nd up after a nice 1st up win. The gate hurts in this guaranteed sizzle-fest, while MOHS EM DOWN (6) is also a player after his strong win on Sat night when powering away to a smart win.

SELECTIONS: AT WEST POINT (4), ESCALERA (1), UNCLE JORD (9), GAME SET MAJOR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: AT WEST POINT (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

CLARKEY (1) might have some ordinary numbers next to his name, however he can be very one-dimensional meaning that he needs conditions to suit his pattern. Those conditions have not been in his favour for some time yet the look to be here. Needing space that didn’t arrive when mid-field to STOMPEM last start, he will be coiled and ready to strike.

APHORISM (2) finally lands a marble on his Winter sojourn after landing the 2nd line, 6 and then 7 in his past 3 starts. Snagged back from gate 7 over the sprint trip last time out, he was not too far off them when working home in good order. Tough in the breeze when a half-head shy of the winner SPARKLING CULLECT 2 back, he gets every chance from this gate.

SECRETAGENT TYCOON (5) resumes from a spell after really marching through the grades last campaign and creating plenty of impression in the process. Opening the pipes at the trials in readiness, he will take good benefit from his achievements in this.

MIDNIGHT MAN (9) took on the lamp lighting duties in a strong Saturday night contest last time out, only fading the closing stages under a strong tempo. Following through early, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CLARKEY (1), APHORISM (2), SECRETAGENT TYCOON (5), MIDNIGHT MAN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CLARKEY (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

ARTHUR LOWE (2) sat back in the field from a 2nd line gate here last week and when trying to peel wide to make the challenge, couldn’t go with them when finishing mid-field. His effort the start prior was a nice effort when slicing between runners. Up to the 2138m from the improved gate looks to give him every chance.

JONAH JONES (5) made a successful start to his Qld career when taking them all the way from the ace at Redcliffe over the 2280m trip, running a smart 57.2 closing 800m in bringing them home. This is a step up, but he will get the chance to press forward and can look to throw down the challenge.

MUCH BETTOR (10) comes out of the same Redcliffe event as JONAH JONES where he was snagged back from gate 6. Hitting the line strongly in the closing stages, it was a smart effort. He is homing in on another victory.

LEXUS ON THE BEACH (1) has not done much in recent outings however he has he gate advantage here to look for a fortune turning performance. 9m in arrears of CLARRY last start, he is a podium player.

SELECTIONS: ARTHUR LOWE (2), JONAH JONES (5), MUCH BETTOR (10), LEXUS ON THE BEACH (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

SOHO TSUNAMI (2) eased from the six-hole last start where from back in the pack he was then facing a task as COPPERFIELD controlled the action from the front. Runner-up at his previous 2 starts from wide gates when not too far from the winner on each occasion, he gets his chance to take control and dictate.

BLACK HAWK JOE (5) has 2 wins and a 2nd in his 3 starts since arriving, the latest a big effort when striking trouble, breaking gait and then set alight again. Moving around to take control he was then too strong in claiming a 6m victory. Claiming a 24m victory at his 1st outing here at The Creek, he can challenge.

GOLIGHTLY (6) had an issue last start that saw him retired from the event. Angling to the pegs from the 2nd line here 2 starts back, he was looking for short-cuts when mid-field behind ANOTHER STATEMENT. The gate hurts again, but he can chime in.

SCHEU CREEK (9)
has placed his past 3 starts and although 2 of those may have been at Marburg, his run here 3 back when holding the bronze was a smart effort. With the right trail, he is place hope.

SELECTIONS: SOHO TSUNAMI (2), BLACK HAWK JOE (5), GOLIGHTLY (6), SCHEU CREEK (9),
SUGGESTED BET: SOHO TSUNAMI (2) to win

RACE TEN

MUMMYS BOY (3) held the pocket trail in the SE Derby and after the good trip was still boxing on when 6.5m from the winner GOVERNOR JUJON. That had followed 3 successive placed efforts including a head 2nd after using the passing lane the start prior. He looks set to make his own luck.

GINGER MICKY (6) went to the front from gate 2 last start over this trip and set the tempo through a steady opening half. Dialling it up in setting a 55.1 closing 800m, he was nabbed in the last strides by VIRGIL up the passing lane. Luckless the start prior when buried in the run, he can throw it down here.

CRUNCH TIME (7) was returning from a spell here 2 starts back when set alight in the early stages from the 2nd line to work to the front. In for the fight he was 2m in arrears of the winner VIENNA BOY. Too far back in the Derby last start, the gate is a stinger, but he can bounce back.

CALLMEDEMARO (9) backs up from Friday where he was sound to the line in landing close to the winner. Grabbed late when leading them up at Redcliffe 3 starts back, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: MUMMYS BOY (3), GINGER MICKY (6), CRUNCH TIME (7), CALLMEDEMARO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-6-7-9
