RACE TWO

JILLIBY GIZMO (2) may not have the best numbers next to his name, yet he may just have found the right contest to regain winning form. 2 starts back he took o a qualifier when looking for short-cuts behind HEZA BROMAC and then last start worked hard in the run. Firing out, he gets his chance.

COBBLER LANE (4) was obliged to race tough last start when sitting outside the leader over the AP 2138m trip before the effort caught up and he faded late. That followed a similarly tough trip over the middle distance. With a strong record here at the triangle, look for a much sharper effort.

RED TERROR (3) led them up from gate 1 here on Thursday when setting a slick tempo out in front. In for the fight, it was only the smart mare TUAPEKA LIGHT to get past him. He is right in the fight.

STONE CRACKER (9) has claimed 3rd at both starts since arriving in Qld, the latest when locked away from inside the 2nd line and charging late to be 4m from the winner DAPPER BESSIE. He can chime in.

SELECTIONS: JILLIBY GIZMO (2), COBBLER LANE (4), RED TERROR (3), STONE CRACKER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JILLIBY GIZMO (2) to win

RACE THREE

HIPSTAR (5) held the 1x1 trail last start and was the best of the chasers behind the track record demolition job produced by AT WEST POINT. In the top-2 at 4 of his 5 starts since returning from 12 months off the scene, he can look to find position early and finds the right contest to capitalise.

ARTISTIC SAINT (1) had his chances ended last start when striking trouble early and soon finding himself on the in-field. Forced to retreat and back in the pack, he closed nicely when only 6m from the winner. His last win came when leading from this gate at this track, and he will be gripping on.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (7) will take further benefit from his run here last Sunday when 2nd up from a spell. Taking the trail from gate 1, he was 9m from the winner and will be probing again here.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (4) has faced the starter twice since returning from a spell. Both return runs have been in strong company at Albion Park and back to this grade, he can feature prominently.

SELECTIONS: HIPSTAR (5), ARTISTIC SAINT (1), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (7), DOUBLE OR NOTHING (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-5-7

RACE FOUR

Tough race to assess here with both the 2040m form and winning form absent from the majority of these. With that in mind, PATCHWORK JET (6) is the only runner to bring a win in their past 5, with his last start victory worthy of top billing. Finishing best over this trip last start after a nice run in transit, he can overcome the tough gate.

A BETTER CHANCE (3) features in a stable switch, lining up for the Dan Russell yard, who has a great strike-rate this season with horses at this track having their 1st start for his team. Starting fav and wilting over this trip last start when setting the tempo, if limiting the early burn, she can challenge.

DOOLITTLE DANDY (7) will need a slice of luck from the gate to find space, yet should appreciate an economical trip. Not too far away at Marburg 2 starts back after a cosy trip, he will be probing here.

DANCINGINTHEDARK (8) has started 3 times since arriving in Qld with Team Graham and has been bereft of manners since arriving. If able to overcome some of those issues, she can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (6), A BETTER CHANCE (3), DOOLITTLE DANDY (7), DANCINGINTHEDARK (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

ALL GOOD WALLY (9) backs up from Friday at The Creek where he looked to face a bit of a task. Snagged back from gate 5 here 2 starts back, he had the power in reserve to make the closing shot a winner when swooping home wide out to take the win. Relying on the tempo, he can arrive.

PHIL BROMAC (7) was beaten by the wide front line gate last start at Marburg when sent forward and after doing plenty of work in the run, couldn’t go with them in the closing stages. Only 4m in arrears of the winner at his Qld debut the start prior, he looks set for an easy trip to strike late.

RISKY BUZINESS (1) has good speed off the arm and from this gate will get his chance to look for a dictating victory. Gunned down late after setting the speed at Marburg 2 starts back, he is in the mix.

SHADYS DELIGHT (5) showed early speed from gate 3 last start, but soon found himself buried in the run and probing for space he didn’t see. That followed a smart win at Marburg, and he has claims despite the tough gate.

SELECTIONS: ALL GOOD WALLY (9), PHIL BROMAC (7), RISKY BUZINESS (1), SHADYS DELIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

CHROMOZONE (2) took on a mares race last start from this same gate. Firing out early, she was setting a solid tempo but was unable to see it out, fading in the closing stages to finish mid-field behind MAFFIOSO GIRL. 5m from the in-form TUAPEKA LIGHT 2 starts back, this looks her chance.

KAY NORA SHANNON (9) doesn’t receive any favours from this alley, but she might just have enough of an edge on most of these to lay down a challenge. Buried in the run here on Thursday, she was making good closing ground to grab 2nd behind TUAPEKA LIGHT. Look for her late in this.

GIGANTIC JASPER (3) resumes from a spell without the benefit of a trial to prepare. With good early speed, he can have a look and might just find some space early. With that scenario, he is a place hope.

ONYAJANS (8) will be further tightened from her latest appearance now that she has started 3 times since resuming from a break. Closing strongly from a long way back last start, she can swoop late here.

SELECTIONS: CHROMOZONE (2), KAY NORA SHANNON (9), GIGANTIC JASPER (3), ONYAJANS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: CHROMOZONE (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (8) has slowly started to put it all together and has been able to land wins in 3 of her past 4 starts. Finding a suitable target last start, she was sent forward from gate 5 to take control and was never troubled thereafter. The 2nd line makes it tricky, but she can add another win.

GO ANNE GO (4) fired off the gate from the two-hole last start when looking to take them all the way. With a steady tempo, she was gripping on, finishing with the silver as ALL GOOD WALLY arrived to take the win. Her early speed is a great asset, with the rise to the 2040m here posing some queries.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9) is never far from the action in this type of contest, placed in 5 of his past 8. Releasing from gate 1 here on Thursday, he was within 2m of the winner SOMEHOWSOMEWAY and can be chiming in late in this.

PIN CODE (7) worked forward to find a handy spot last start over the AP 2138m trip and was able to secure some running line cover. Holding on for the silver behind ITS SUPER EASY, she will be probing from this gate for clear space.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (8), GO ANNE GO (4), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9), PIN CODE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

ITMIGHTBEYOU (2) made the most of finding the front at Marburg 2 starts back, taking them all the way to claim victory. Setting the tempo here last start from gate 1, she led them deep into the stretch before being collared in the closing strides. With her early speed, she will look to fight them off.

CHANG (6) stuck to the poles here last week, the shortest way home proving the difference as he claimed a breakthrough win. That win had franked a nice effort at Marburg the start prior when forced to do some work in the run and holding on for the bronze. The gate stings, but he can repeat.

FLIGHTNFIGHT (3) was a Tamworth winner 2 starts back when finishing best after securing a nice run in transit behind the leader. Not in the hunt last start at Newcastle, he can be thereabouts here.

TEACHERS PET (4) made the most of gate 1 last start to take them all the way in claiming a maiden breaking victory. The wider gate makes it tricky, but with the winning confidence, has podium hopes.

SELECTIONS: ITMIGHTBEYOU (2), CHANG (6), FLIGHTNFIGHT (3), TEACHERS PET (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Another tough one to line up with winning form absent for these. Leaning to KID CALVERT (3) who has not been too far from the action in recent starts without really threatening. Hitting the line nicely to grab the bronze behind PERFECT FEELING 3 starts back. Settling close to the speed, he can cash-in.

PRIVATE JUJON (5) settled in the running line last start when closing out in good order to finish in 3rd behind WESTERN SHOWGIRL. Using the passing lane when chasing home behind PERFECT FEELING the start prior, the gate stings but with even luck he can look to issue some form of challenge.

NEVASANO (7) held the pocket trail from this gate last start when finishing 5m from the winner, CHANG. Needing a slice of luck, she can be looking to feature with the inside run.

STAR OF WONDER (1) wasn’t suited last start when forced to race tough in the breeze and fading under the pressure. With the options from the gate, he has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: KID CALVERT (3), PRIVATE JUJON (5), NEVASANO (7), STAR OF WONDER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: KID CALVERT (3) to win

RACE TEN

JASPERS AYR (1) makes her debut here at Redcliffe for the visiting Richie Williams and has the gate to make an immediate impact. Buried in the run last start at Newcastle, she was hitting the line in nice order when not too far off the winner. Hustling early to protect the poles, she gets her chance.

MANOFLISA (7) was beaten by gate 6 last start, forced to retreat over the 1780m to look for the short-cuts when chasing home the winner MUCHO GUAPA. Not too far from the action in recent outings, he looks set to get the soft trip here and when the passing lane presents can take his shot.

REDDY FIRE (3) took on a much stronger claiming race last start when finishing down the line. Back to this grade of contest, he can look to settle close to the action and is a place player.

SCHOOBY (2) has some ordinary numbers next to his name, yet he might have found the right type of contest to find an earn here. Chasing home from well back last start, he can settle closer in this.

SELECTIONS: JASPERS AYR (1), MANOFLISA (7), REDDY FIRE (3), SCHOOBY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: JASPERS AYR (1) to win
