RACE TWO

A field of 8 maiden 2YOs to do battle here, with a few showing that they are getting close to a victory. Leaning to the well-drawn ROYAL PRINCESS (2) who has placed in 4 of her 7 career starts, the latest when only a head short of the breakthrough. From the gate, today can be the day.

TORQUE IN CONTROL (3) started a red figure fav here last start when sent straight to the front in looking to take them all the way. Setting an even tempo out in front, she was unable to see it out when fading in the closing stages. Fitter for the run after returning from a freshen, she can atone.

AMARONE (7) will be requiring a slice of luck from the gate as she looks in danger of being locked away. Making an early error last start, she has trialled twice in good order to remove the ODM embargo and can chime in late.

PRINCESS CHILLA (8) has placed twice in her 7 career starts, with one of those coming at her only appearance here on the triangle. Working in the run at her past 2, she has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL PRINCESS (2), TORQUE IN CONTROL (3), AMARONE (7), PRINCESS CHILLA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL PRINCESS (2) to win

RACE THREE

CANNAN (8)
made an error last start that ended his chances when tailing in the field. Using the passing lane over the sprint trip here 2 starts back, he held on for the bronze when 3m in arrears of the winner. This looks a shade easier than recent outings and with the right trail will get his chance.

TILDALYN (1) took 22 starts to break the maiden tag and will line up here 3 starts later looking to make it win number 2. Closing strongly from back in the pack to open her account, it was followed with a 2nd behind BEEF CITY STARZZZ. Freshened since her last start, the cosy trip suits.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4) has been racing in consistent fashion and lines up with a placing at his past 3 in succession. Working home from the 2nd line last start, it followed a 1.5m 3rd. He has claims again.

MALIBU DREAM (3) steps up to the 2040m but she hasn’t been far away in recent outings. A winner over the sprint trip here 5 starts back, she only faded in the closing stages last start and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CANNAN (8), TILDALYN (1), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4), MALIBU DREAM (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CANNAN (8) to win

RACE FOUR

GOJOE (9)
finally got on the board last start when scoring the narrowest of victories. Stripping fitter from the run where he was 1st up from a spell without the benefit of a trial, the win was a welcome reward after seemingly having his chance on several occasions. With the confidence, he can repeat.

KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (1) should appreciate the improved gate after facing a string of tough alleys. Working home wide off the track last start after easing to find position from gate 4, it followed a tough 3rd when only 1m in arrears of the winner. With the options, she can challenge.

COUNTRY RUN (4) does his bets work when up near the speed and from this gate will get his opportunity to press forward to settle handy. Only 2m from the winner last start, he has claims.

MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (7) will raise the bat here, stepping out under race conditions for the 100th time. Runner-up in 4 of his past 5 attempts, he will have the cosy trip and be probing in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: GOJOE (9), KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (1), COUNTRY RUN (4), MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GOJOE (9) to win

RACE FIVE

THE CASUAL GOOSE (2)
tackled a much stronger race at AP last start over the mile when snagging back from gate 7 and once he was too far back was always facing mission impossible as B MAC C scored a dictating victory. Not too far from HAVING THE FAITH 3 starts back, he can look to dictate.

SWORD AND SHIELD (6) was a winner here 2 starts back when angled to the pegs from the 2nd line before finishing hard to claim the prize. Last start when slammed with the 6, he retreated early prior to making some good closing metres. Stung again by the gate, he can still look to challenge.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (1) will be further tightened from his latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Striking some trouble in the run last start, it proved costly and with a smoother trip has claims.

JUSTA DALE (7) will be relying on some luck as he looks set to be buried in transit here. This is a nice drop in grade however and if the gaps arrive in time, he can look to make a closing play.

SELECTIONS: THE CASUAL GOOSE (2), SWORD AND SHIELD (6), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (1), JUSTA DALE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-7

RACE SIX

LA PISTOLA (8) has kept the pink saddlecloth in the gear bag in recent weeks and will line up wearing the 8 for the 4th successive start. Angled to the pegs last start, he chased home well to grab the silver behind MONTEREY JACK. Within 2m of the winner at his previous 2 starts, this looks within reach.

NON PASSARE (1) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back and with the cosy trip was able to use the passing lane to grab the bronze when only 1.5m from the winner. Releasing the front last start, he couldn’t go with them late, but in this line-up can return a sharper effort.

TEARAWAY DIAMOND (7) will take benefit from his latest start when resuming from a spell without a preparatory trial. Mid-field from the 2nd line gate over the AP 2138m, he will be probing the gaps.

TULHURST KATE (3) has been in the money at her past 3 in succession and has a good top-3 strike rate on the track, featuring in the money at 12 of 17. Hitting the line strongly last start, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LA PISTOLA (8), NON PASSARE (10, TEARAWAY DIAMOND (7), TULHURST KATE (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

LIVE ATOM (1) was soon locked away on the pegs from inside the 2nd line last start and once AT WEST POINT had the power on out in front, he was never going to make any impression behind the track record breaking win. Taking on a strong qualifier 2 starts back, he looks to get the perfect conditions to dictate here.

MAN FROM BRAAVOS (3) started fav here 5 starts back from the 2nd line and with the perfect 1x1 trip, packed too many guns in the closing stages to score a big 10m victory. Not much has really gone to script in each run since, yet his past 2 efforts have had merit. Back to the triangle for the 1st time since the win can see him lay down the challenge.

OUR PEPPERJACK (7) will take some benefit from his latest start when resuming from a break. Finishing down the line, he will appreciate the cosy trip here and can be ready to strike.

BUSTN FEELZ GOOD (8) has won 2 of his past 3 starts, the latest when buried away 3 back on the poles and attacking the line strongly to take the prize. With a similar trip he can be probing in this.

SELECTIONS: LIVE ATOM (1), MAN FROM BRAAVOS (3), OUR PEPPERJACK (7), BUSTN FEELZ GOOD (8)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVE ATOM (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

SAM IS PERFECTION (5) should relish taking on this class of opposition after some strong runs mixing it with in-form pacers in recent outings. Bumping in to the in-form CULTURE KING at his past 2 starts, he hit the line strongly 3 starts back when only 3m from the winner SIR JULIAN. Beaten a pimple when nabbed in the last stride by SPEECH IS SILVER 5 runs back, this looks a nice target.

JONAH JONES (1) steps out in Qld for the 1st time, joining the Dixon stable. Claimed last start at Menangle where he trailed them in over the mile, he was not too far away from the winner AZTEC BROMAC 2 starts back. If he can handle the triangle 1st up, he can throw down a challenge.

UNASSUMING CHAMP (9) has a better than 50% strike-rate of finishing in the money here at the triangle, with his latest effort a nice run when 5m from the winner KETUT. He can chime in again.

ELMS CREEK (3) was locked away against the poles last start at The Creek and used the passing lane when trying to make closing ground. Placed his previous 3 in succession, he is in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: SAM IS PERFECTION (5), JONAH JONES (1), UNASSUMING CHAMP (9), ELMS CREEK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SAM IS PERFECTION (5) to win

RACE NINE

ROCKNTINGIRA (7) was building toward his 1st Qld victory after some handy performances and finding the right conditions was able to capitalise here 3 starts back. Sent to the front, he took control in leading throughout. Not too far away behind ESCALERA in a qualifier last start, he can make the closing shot a winner.

SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (8) landed the six-hole here last start over this trip when sent to the breeze through the middle stages. Grinding it out, he was able to claim a gritty win. Meeting stronger opponents prior to that, he will need to work at some stage again here, but can throw it down.

RITCHIE BEE (1) set the tempo from this gate last start over this trip and led them into the stretch but was unable to fight off the challengers in holding 3rd. He will be gripping on again here.

MISTER FAHRENHEIT (4) made the most of gate 1 to take them all the way here last start when holding on to score by a half-neck. He might need to do some work here and looks a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNTINGIRA (7), SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (8), RITCHIE BEE (1), MISTER FAHRENHEIT (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNTINGIRA (7) to win
