RACE TWO

BARBIE MATTGREGOR (9) was working home wide off the track at Redcliffe 2 starts back when finishing 5m from the winner GRIZZLY MONTANA. Sent back to the trials after making an error last start, she should appreciate the bigger track and in a wide-open contest is worth a ticket.

ZED CODE (7) has been meeting tougher line-ups than she meets here and despite the wide gate she gets her chance to feature. 4th to ELENIARK in the mares Triad 3 starts back, she worked home well at her last start to be 3m from the winner HOW WE ROLL. With even luck she is a big threat.

TORQUE WRITER (1) is still searching for a maiden breaking win and will be 3rd up from a break. Her 1st up run was a tidy effort when 5m off the winner. Forget her 2nd start and while she has a few tricks if she can get it right she should enjoy a cosy trip.

CHANG (5) went within a head of the winner at Redcliffe 3 starts back from the pocket trail and has run into NOTMUCHUPTOP at each of his past 2. He can find position here and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: BARBIE MATTGREGOR (9), ZED CODE (7), TORQUE WRITER (1), CHANG (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-7-9

RACE THREE

VICTREE MIKAYLA (1) has placed in 3 of her 6 career starts the latest when finishing within 2m of OPONONIS BLISS in the Triad Consolation from the 2nd line. Her efforts have been good despite showing some tractability issues but with a strong start she can dictate here for a breakthrough win.

KATHLEEN GRACE (3) has been runner-up in 2 runs back from a break and should be tightened from the latest effort when finishing best of the chasing bunch behind a 14m winner. With early speed she will be able to find a handy position and has claims in this.

FAKEROCKNROLL (5) features in a stable change and will line up for Lola Weidemann for the 1st time. 2nd up from a break last start he couldn’t go with them in the closing stages when down the line behind JUSTALITTLE TORQUE. Podium claims in this.

FUTURE FUN (4) will take further benefit from his latest outing when finishing 7m away from the winner SISTER FEELGOOD. That was career start 2 and from the gate can be around the money again.

SELECTIONS: VICTREE MIKAYLA (1), KATHLEEN GRACE (3), FAKEROCKNROLL (5), FUTURE FUN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: VICTREE MIKAYLA (1) to win

RACE FOUR

MACHITELLI (1)
makes her Aust debut for Darrel Graham and is the winner of 1 from 9 in NZ. A well-bred filly she last raced on May 20 when finishing mid-field at Oamaru. 4 starts back she took on the Southland Oaks at Invercargill behind DIBABA. She finds an easy target first up.

JUST ROKIN (5) will be 1st up in 12 months and was last seen when winning a 3YO race at Redcliffe when leading all the way from gate 5. That followed her run in the 3YO Triad final when striking trouble in the run. Sent to the trials 3 times to prepare, she will improve on whatever she achieves.

PARKLANE LASS (8) was a Redcliffe winner 4 starts back when able to lead all the way from gate 1 to score. Facing tough gates in the 3 runs since, she can secure a cosy trail here and will be ready to take her shot late.

SISTER FEELGOOD (4) can look to build on her maiden breaking win at Redcliffe last start where she speared to the front from gate 2 and then dictated terms. This is touch harder but she can take benefit from the win and has some rough hopes in this.

SELECTIONS: MACHITELLI (1), JUST ROKIN (5), PARKLANE LASS (8), SISTER FEELGOOD (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

MOTU REAL STYLE (1) will be 1st up since August last year and will step out for Ryan Veivers for the 1st time. Her form prior to going for a spell was behind some handy performers and she has trialled twice to prepare for her return. With good speed off the arm she finds a suitable target to return in.

CHEVALS DIAMOND (8) didn’t get the cleanest shot at them last start at Tamworth after being buried in the run and may have finished closer with better luck. Struggling to land a gate in recent outings, he will get the perfect trail here and can look to issue a challenge when the gaps appear.

ZALTA (9) switched barns and lining up for Mitchell Dawson for the 1st time at Marburg 2 starts back was able to score. His latest run had merit when working in the middle stages wide off the track and with options to where he positions can podium in this.

REDDY FIRE (5) will strip fitter following his latest run when 2nd up from a break and claiming the silver at Marburg after a handy effort. His 1st up run from gate 6 was sound and in this line-up he can feature.

SELECTIONS: MOTU REAL STYLE (1), CHEVALS DIAMOND (8), ZALTA (9), REDDY FIRE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MOTU REAL STYLE (1) to win

RACE SIX

NEVAEH (2)
ticked over the 12 month break between wins last week with her latest effort fair behind the classy mare ARGYLE BEACH. Her 2 runs prior to that were enough to be competitive in this line-up and with good early speed has the options. This looks her big chance to score career win 9.

CONNIE MATTGREGOR (3) looks to still be learning what she should be doing and last start from inside the 2nd line was never looking fully at ease in her work. Her run 3 starts back when hitting the line strongly after going back from gate 7 was a nice effort and a run like that puts her in contention here.

GOTOTHEMOON (8) will need a slice of luck from this gate as he looks to be buried in the run. 1st up since Sept when scoring a tough maiden breaking success, he returned a nice trial to prepare for this and stays under notice.

DALACOS EMPRESS (1) went back from gate 6 at Tamworth last start and struck trouble in the run. From the gate she will enjoy a cosy ride and when the gaps open she can take a shot.

SELECTIONS: NEVAEH (2), CONNIE MATTGREGOR (3), GOTOTHEMOON (8), DALACOS EMPRESS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: NEVAEH (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

GREGS LEGACY (11) has the tough gate to overcome but finds another suitable target following on from his breakthrough Qld win 2 starts back. Sent straight to the front from gate 5 in that he held on to score with a 2m margin. Too far back after being restrained from gate 7 last start, he will appreciate this field and can cash-in.

SKYLARHAIN (2) settled in the running line her last week and was fair to the line when 3rd to WERELIVINGTHEDREAM. She couldn’t go with them on Sat night in a mares qualifier but should find this a shade below and finding early position can be running home to fill the minors.

INCITER (8) couldn’t hold the leaders back from this same gate last week and ended buried away. Then angled to the outside he was hitting the line in good order down the centre of the track to claim the silver. That made it 3 in a row as the runner-up and with the right trip can go close again.

PITTSWORTH MAN (7) has the tough gate to overcome but if able to find early position without getting too far back will be steaming home late. Finishing best from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last time out, he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: GREGS LEGACY (11), SKYLARHAIN (2), INCITER (8), PITTSWORTH MAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GREGS LEGACY (11) to win

RACE EIGHT

LIVING GRAND (4)
returned from a freshen with a tough run over the Redcliffe 2040m trip and went within a nose of victory. Facing some tough draws since that strong returning effort, he finds a better gate in a race that looks an easier assignment. He looks to get his chance to breakthrough.

CROWNING GLORY (10) secured the pocket trail last start and ran home fairly to be mid-field behind OYSTER STRIDE who came from behind him in sprinting home to score. Buried away on the pegs 2 starts back he never got into the contest behind CLINTAL DO. With even luck he can be an improver here.

VANDE VELDE (9) will strip fitter following his return from a break last start. Buried in the run from a 2nd line gate he never really had a shot at them in finishing down the line. With better luck and settling close to the speed he will get his chance.

WASTE OF TIME (2) was running home late from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start when mid-field. His past 3 runs have been from wide gates and with the improved alley he can look to fire an early shot to get in the action.

SELECTIONS: LIVING GRAND (4), CROWNING GLORY (10), VANDE VELDE (9), WASTE OF TIME (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING GRAND (4) to win
