RACE TWO

JOYS A BABE (2) couldn’t find the front last start from gate 2 and forced to work in the run couldn’t see it out. That looked her chance for a breakthrough win after a run of outs and lining up here in the small field and from the gate this surely is her chance to bounce back.

JACKAROO BROMAC (5) held the front early on Sat night in the Lucky Creed FFA before releasing the front and then finishing 7m from the winner OUR UNCLE SAM. That followed a 3m 3rd to ALLELUIA and he will be swooping late.

MAKO BANNER (6) tried to take them all the way 2 starts back when resuming from a break in M0 company when run down in the closing stages.

THREO (4) is not best suited at this trip but with the small field and a cosy run in what looks a single file map will be trying to sprint with them.

SELECTIONS: JOYS A BABE (2), JACKAROO BROMAC (5), MAKO BANNER (6) THREO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: JOYS A BABE (2) to win

RACE THREE

CHERRYS THE BEST (7) returns from a freshen after last seen in the Breeders Consolation. Starting from the 2nd line she did a few things wrong in the run but was still fighting to the line to go under a half-neck. Still looking to breakthrough after placing in 5 of 6 career starts, she can go close here.

MY ULITMATE SPORT (5) has claimed the bronze at 3 of 4 career outings, the latest when going under as a red figure fav. Settling in the running line from this gate he was trying to reel them in late but could only get within 6m of the winner. He can issue a strong challenge here.

TORQUE IS MY GIRL (2) struck trouble at the 1400m last start and was sent to the pegs to save ground after that. The run was full of merit when hitting the line strongly. A win is very close for her.

WHERES TASCOTT (1) lands the best gate of her career at her 3rd start and can look to make the most of the cosy run. She found the line well last start to claim the bronze and can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: CHERRYS THE BEST (7), MY ULITMATE SPORT (5), TORQUE IS MY GIRL (2), WHERES TASCOTT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-2-5-7

RACE FOUR

SPRINGBANK EDEN (11)
returns from a break and was last seen when finishing 6m from OUR OVERANOVA under mobile conditions after sitting in the pocket trail. A winner from the front tape in open company 3 starts back, he should appreciate this class of opponent and looks hard to stop.

SOUTHERN ALPS (3) will relish getting to the front line tape under these conditions. A winner in T0-4 company 4 starts back, he was only beaten 4m at his next outing. Forget his latest run when striking trouble, he will get his chance here.

IVANOV (8) made the most of some of his opponents making early errors last start and pouncing on the lead from a 20m tape was able to hold them all off. A great beginner he can put himself in the contest early.

SCORCHED (6) finished best to score a nice win here 2 starts back after closing out strongly. His run last start was good under the circumstances. Look for him trying to close out in the latter stages.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGBANK EDEN (11), SOUTHERN ALPS (3), IVANOV (8), SCORCHED (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGBANK EDEN (11) to win

RACE FIVE

GLENFERRIE DUSTER (1) looked to take them all the way last start over the mile and after a 2nd panel breather tried to dial it up but couldn’t bring it home when finishing 7 from the winner NONE BETTOR. With the speed to keep them out he will be gripping on and trying to hold them out.

THE CARINGBAH KID (2) couldn’t keep the back of the leader last start from inside the 2nd line. He was then trying to chase home late to finish 11m from the winner. He has been striking ome trick barriers and from a good alley can look for the winning ticket in a wide open event.

DOWNAN OUT (3) did some early work from gate 3 in restricted company at Redcliffe last start when beaten 1m by REMEMBER MAC. His only AP appearance was a nice effort when 5m from the winner SOLDIER OF FORTUNE and he has claims.

GOODTIME STRIDE (6) has been forced to overcome wide 2nd line gates at her past 3 after making a starting error. She closed out well last start and getting in here on a class drop will be a chance ok knocking them off.

SELECTIONS: GLENFERRIE DUSTER (1), THE CARINGBAH KID (2), DOWNAN OUT (3), GOODTIME STRIDE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENFERRIE DUSTER (1) to win

RACE SIX

SLICE OF HEAVEN (11)
landed his 4th successive win last start sprinting sharply when the passing lane presented, finishing over the top in a slick closing panel. His previous 3 wins were when doing work and despite this looking his toughest test to date, he is right in the zone and can get the five-for.

GOOD BOY OLIVER (4) was forced to go back from gate 7 last week and went luck hunting up the pegs when finding the line in good order in the closing stages. He looked to take them all the way 2 starts back when setting a solid tempo for BUMPER to take the prize. He can ask the questions here.

LENNY THE LEGEND (5) was hitting the line strongly last start and made up good closing ground from this same gate. Finding early position is the key to his chances. Look for him storming home.

TOMEARA (7) ended a 5 run streak of finishing runner-up last start when 10m from SLICE OF HEAVEN to be officially 5th. The tough gate does him no favours here but include in the exotics.

SELECTIONS: SLICE OF HEAVEN (11), GOOD BOY OLIVER (4), LENNY THE LEGEND (5), TOMEARA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SLICE OF HEAVEN (11) to win

RACE SEVEN

GASMONKEY (4) is listed as finishing 5th last start, yet in a blanket finish was under 1.5m from the winner. The run was a nice effort after sitting 3-wide the closing 1000m and indicated a win is just around the corner after building nicely since returning from a spell. Back to the front line he can take his chances here.

COLD IDEAL (6) will strip fitter after his 1st run back from a break when rolling forward to take control over the 2138m trip and only grabbed in the closing stages by the passing lane winner LIKEALLOFUS. The wide gate makes it tricky but he will be issuing a strong challenge.

REDS JET STAR (12) settled in the running line from a 2nd line gate here on Fri and after angled into a gap between runners in the stretch was able to sprint hard into the opening and score. If close enough when called on, she can be sprinting home hard.

IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (10) should find this a shade below the Sat night company she has been keeping. Luckless 2 starts back she snared the bronze at her latest run via the passing lane. If the tempo she suits she can feature.

SELECTIONS: GASMONKEY (4), COLD IDEAL (6), REDS JET STAR (12), IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4-6-10-12

RACE EIGHT

ARGYLE BEACH (10)
shoots for the hat-trick after working to the front and then fighting them off to go all the way to score a 4m victory. That followed a dominant win from the front when opening and closing in sub 28 panels. There looks some good front line tempo to bring her into the contest.

PATERNITY SUIT (5) applied the acid in the run last start over the 2138m trip and loomed up to take the prize until grabbed in the closing stages by MUSCLE MACH. A tough winner from the breeze over the mile 2 starts back he will be giving this a big shake.

GETOUTNWALK (2) was a winner over the 2138m trip here 5 start back when able to find the front from gate 5 and after setting a steady tempo hold on to score. This is her best alley for some time and she can look to fight them off.

REMEMBER MAC (3) scored in restricted company at Redcliffe last start, but the effort was good in putting them away. This will be much harder, but with the Frisby team firing on all cylinders, he can bob up in the money.

SELECTIONS: ARGYLE BEACH (10), PATERNITY SUIT (5), GETOUTNWALK (2), REMEMBER MAC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ARGYLE BEACH (10) to win
