Last week’s “welcome” rain to parts of western Queensland has caused the annual non-Tab McKinlay RC Cup meeting set down for Saturday 23 June 2018 to be rescheduled.
The McKinlay racecourse recorded over 50mm of rain, but with water still covering a section of track between the 900m to 800m and despite the efforts of club officials, the race meeting is unable to proceed due to safety concerns.
Horses originally nominated for the McKinlay race meeting may nominate for any other upcoming Queensland race meetings for which acceptances have not been declared. (eg Towers JC 23/6).
In the spirit of “true bush co-operation”, the Mount Isa RC, has relinquished their allocated race date on Saturday 14 July 2018, to allow the McKinlay Cup race meeting be conducted on this date. Mount Isa RC will reschedule to Saturday 8 December 2018.
The rescheduled McKinlay RC meeting will retain the same program and prizemoney and is:

Benchmark 60 Hcp 1400m $8,000
