Racing Queensland extends Greyhound sustainability payments

Racing Queensland greyhound participants will benefit from a decision to continue the widely welcomed greyhound industry sustainability payments beyond 30 June for another year.

The sustainability reimbursements payments will continue throughout the entire 2018/19 financial year and includes;

  • A full rebate to the cost of breeding female registration
  • A full rebate to the cost of DNA analysis for named female greyhounds and;
  • A full rebate to the cost of litter registration made within four months of whelping.

To be eligible for the reimbursements the breeder must be licensed in Queensland.

All applications must first be paid for, and processed by QRIC.

The sustainability reimbursements are available for any application processed by QRIC before 30 June 2019.

Additionally, on top of the $40 fee paid to trainers for each appearance in a Queensland race, the payments also include:

  • $500 sustainability payment for a Queensland bred greyhound having its first race start
    • Split 50/50 between owner and breeder
  • $500 sustainability payment for a Queensland bred greyhound that wins a maiden race
    • Payment split 50/50 between owner and breeder
  • $500 sustainability payment for a Queensland bred greyhound that wins a novice race
    • Payment split 50/50 between owner and breeder
