It’s been a huge week for Queensland’s resident race caller John ‘Bunny’ Brasch, receiving his life membership at the Capalaba Club on Sunday before tipping nine for nine at Albion Park on Monday night.

“I was talking to Paul Dolan the other day and he said it took me forty-three years to do it, so I’m ahead of schedule,” Brasch said.

“It was a nerve-racking experience once I got up to race six and seven, a few people were starting to follow me and once I got to Regal Recall at $1.40 in the eighth I thought I just might do this.”

“When my tip got home in the last everyone was telling me to drop a line on the coverage because it just doesn’t happen, so when I said, “and I’ve tipped the card” I think Jason Lincoln almost fell off his chair in the Sky studios.”

We spoke to the inform tipster hoping to ahead of tonight’s Brisbane Cup Heats and Superstayers Group Three Final to get his expert opinion on who to watch out for

Brisbane Cup Heat One

“Now that Wise Misty has come out it clears the way for Black Opium in six and Mystic Riot in seven.”

“Without trouble Black Opium probably wins The Flying Amy Classic last week and is a good chance to atone here.”

“Can’t overlook Mystic Riot as the inaugural Million Dollar Chase winner suited from an outside alley.”

“I’ll put Dyna Chancer in for third, dropping back from the 710, is a front running bitch and could be strong late over the shorter trip.”

Selections

6 – Black Opium – Tony Brett

7 – Mystic Riot – Peter Lagogione

4 – Dyna Chancer – Correy Grenfall

Brisbane Cup Heat Two

“I’m a parochial Queenslander, but I think Neo Cleo out of box seven, will benefit from last week's run at the track and should improve off strong staying wins in Victoria, draw suits as well.”

“Dam Slippery will definitely lead them, but will have to put up a big margin on Neo Cleo who I think with his six hundred metre form may just wear her down late.”

“Fabwik will stay in it’s lane it won’t clash and should be in the finish if he stays out of trouble.”

Selections

7 – Neo Cleo – Rob Britton

3 – Dam Slippery – Brett Hazelgrove

4 – Fabwik – Steve White

Brisbane Cup Heat Three

“I’ve stayed with Zipping Bailey on top, no luck first up in the Origin Sprint, given a clear run second time out looks well suited from the draw (2).”

“Barooga Brett has to be respected, a dual Group One winner and suited to an inside alley, perhaps a little susceptible late to Zipping Bailey.”

“Got Some Wheels is first up at Albion Park under race conditions, could be a big chance if breaks go his way.”

“The one to watch is the eight Miss Gingin, she’s a Victorian dog with only two runs in Queensland, last time out was a huge run from the back at Ipswich last Saturday night, a big watch.”

Selections

2 – Zipping Bailey – Jason Mackay

1 – Barooga Brett – Brooke Ennis

3 – Got Some Wheels – Graham James

Value Bet – 8 – Miss Gingin – Tom Tzouvelis.

Brisbane Cup Heat Four

“It looks a two-dog clash between Deliver and Dyna Patty, but with Deliver’s two runs in Queensland I give him a slight edge from the one.”

“Dyna Patty has been flying and is a proven performer at this level, but with just the one failed run at the track and out of the five draw I think Deliver just shades her.”

“Nangar Diva was sensational for Dennis Barnes in the lead up to the Flying Amy Final, maybe lacks a little bit of class on these, but right in the mix.

Selections

1 – Deliver – Tony Brett

5 – Dyna Patty – Andrea Dailly

2 – Nangar Diva – Dennis Barnes

Brisbane Cup Heat Five

“Another heat where I can probably narrow it down to two and I’ve gone Sennachie over Orson Allen, because Feikuai Donna likes to crash from the two which may impede Orson Allen early.”

“In turn that opens up a clear run for Sennachie to the first turn, who is due for luck looking all over a winner in the Flying Amy.”

“Fernando’s Riot hasn’t brought his best form to Brisbane yet, but has the benefit of a couple of runs and at his best can figure.”

Selections

3 – Sennachie – Steve White

1 – Orson Allen – Correy Grenfall

6 – Fernando’s Riot – Anthony Azzopardi

Superstayers Invitational Group Three

“On Superstayer’s night I’ve just got to go with something with the kennel name of Batman.”

“I think the smaller field will suit Tornado Tears and I think he can go back to back after setting the track record in this race last year.”

“Bago Bye Bye is flying, but his early speed isn’t quite as bit an advantage in the four-dog field, I think he runs a brave second.”

“Ella Enchanted could be the big improver, was never in the race in her Gold Cup Heat, she gets her chance here to show is she belongs.”

Selections

3 – Tornado Tears – Rob Britton

7 – Bago Bye Bye – Darren Russell

1 – Ella Enchanted – Brooke Ennis
