RACE TWO

TUAPEKA LIGHT (7) was returning from break last time out over the Redcliffe 2040m when able to lead throughout with a tidy closing 800m to score a 2m victory. Aiming for a hat-trick after winning prior to the let-up, she is arguably more effective chasing and the small field suits.

STUDLEIGH STRIDE (1) made the most of this alley 5 starts to take them all the way over the mile, holding on to score by 2m in a career PB. Not suited in the 4 runs since where he has been forced to work from wider gates, he can make the most of the improved alley this time around.

TORI MAY (6) has won 2 of 3 starts since returning from a break, the latest when setting a new benchmark after securing the pocket trail. Looking for a cart into the contest, she has place claims.

ARCACHON (5) took on a mares qualifier at her 1st start back in Qld last Sat night. Finding the pocket trail, she couldn’t reel in the leader and winner, beaten a head. From the tricky gate she can place.

SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (7), STUDLEIGH STRIDE (1), TORI MAY (6), ARCACHON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TUAPEKA LIGHT (7) to win

RACE THREE

RAGING INFERNO (4) was a Redcliffe winner when leading throughout from gate 1 at his 1st start in Qld, holding on to score by a neck. He then set the tempo in Gold Pot heat, only fading in the closing stages. Last start he couldn’t finish them off after an early burn. Look for a bounce back here.

HEADWIN (5) rolled forward from gate 3 last start over the mile and was in for the fight after rolling the sleeves and facing the breeze. Only 2m from the winner, the effort was sound and although he looks set to work in the run again, he doesn’t mind the tough stuff and can be challenging.

GOLD REACTOR (1) will strip fitter following his latest run when returning from a 12-month break. Buried in transit, he found the line nicely to be within 2m of the winner and will be probing again.

IM SUGAR COATED (2) didn’t receive the cleanest run in transit last time out, yet she was still giving, finishing within a neck of the winner. With added fitness from the run, she can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: RAGING INFERNO (4), HEADWIN (5), GOLD REACTOR (1), IM SUGAR COATED (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-5

RACE FOUR

CASINO TOMMY (4)
was a winner over the mile in claiming company 4 starts back when securing the perfect cart into the contest to arrive and claim a neck margin victory. His 3 runs since that victory have been in Band 5 events, the past 2 when locked away in the run. Back to claiming grade appeals.

OUR MELS DREAM (7) went within a neck when 2nd to CASINO TOMMY here 3 starts back and followed that with a 3rd when forced to race tough in the breeze. Not suited last start when too far back and didn’t run on in the stretch. Look for him swooping late.

KARLOO MAC (3) led them up from gate 2 last start and was only bettered by the closing sprint of WATTLEBANK FLYER. From this alley he can secure a nice run in transit and be ready to strike.

DIVAS DELIGHT (6) rolled to the breeze from this same gate last time out and only faded in the closing stages. A strong winner here 3 starts back, he will be in for the fight again in this.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (4), OUR MELS DREAM (7), KARLOO MAC (3), DIVAS DELIGHT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CASINO TOMMY (4) to win

RACE FIVE

GREG THE GREAT (8) took on the pacers at Redcliffe 3 starts back and after working hard in the breeze only faded when the speed went on through the final panel. Forget his next start, he bounced back with a victory here on Tues and under similar conditions can go back-to-back.

MUSCULUS (5) is providing connections with plenty of frustration as they look to capture his best and also bring his manners to the races. He lost all chance with an early error last start as the fav, while 2 starts back he couldn’t work into it down the back straight. At his best he is up to the task.

SMOKEY NOVA (3) stepped straight to the front last start and only faded late over the longer 2647m trip. With safe manners again and back to the 2138m trip, she can be in the mix.

NORAHS FLING (6) stuck to the inside and dived through late to claim a nice win under mobile conditions here 2 starts back. Too far back at Redcliffe last start, she can chime in late here.

SELECTIONS: GREG THE GREAT (8), MUSCULUS (5), SMOKEY NOVA (3), NORAHS FLING (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GREG THE GREAT (8) to win

RACE SIX

FOR ALL WE KNOW (5)
stepped out for the Dixon stable for the 1st time at Redcliffe last start and after an early shot for the front, grabbed up, secured the 1x1 trail and the in the stretch made a late dive for 2nd to TUAPEKA LIGHT. With a smart preparatory trial, this looks her chance to cash-in.

ALLABOUTDREAMS (12) heads North for the Tim Butt stable after taking on the better fillies races in NZ. Making her Aus debut at Penrith last start, she made an early error, circled the field and when looming up again went off-stride. If she has packed her manners in the travelling bag, she is a big danger.

STUDLEIGH SONNY (6) attacked the line strongly over the mile here 2 starts back, running some sharp closing splits. Capitalising on that with victory last start, he can be around the money here.

LITTLELIONELJAMES (4) was locked away on the pegs last start and when the gaps opened, he let down nicely and sprinted hard to get within a head of victory. This is harder, yet he has claims.

SELECTIONS: FOR ALL WE KNOW (5), ALLABOUTDREAMS (12), STUDLEIGH SONNY (6), LITTLELIONELJAMES (4)
SUGGESTED BET: FOR ALL WE KNOW (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

HASHTAG (7) found his race at Redcliffe 4 starts back and despite facing the breeze, packed too many guns when pulling clear to a 5m victory in a slick last 800m. Chasing gamely for 3rd at his next start behind ELENIARK, his latest run was full of merit behind COLT THIRTY ONE and he can take this.

ROCKNROLL EMMA (6) took control last time out in a mares race, finding the front early from gate 2 and holding on to a narrow victory over the 2138m trip. That followed a nice run when working home from back in the pack to claim the silver behind TRILIGHT BRIGADE and she is right in the fight.

COLONEL JOY (2) joins the Richard Hutchinson barn and will have his 1st Qld start. Last start in claiming company at Menangle, he wasn’t far away and with good early speed can feature here.

WHISKEY BLAZE (4) will take further benefit from his latest start when 2nd up from a break. Settling back in the pack over the mile, he found the line strongly and will be swooping hard again here.

SELECTIONS: HASHTAG (7), ROCKNROLL EMMA (6), COLONEL JOY (2), WHISKEY BLAZE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HASHTAG (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAYWYNS COURAGE (7)
had been running some nice races from poor draws and put the writing on the wall when charging home from back in the pack and only beaten 2m after starting from gate 12. Capitalising from gate 5, he dictated in front last start to score and despite gate 7 can take this.

MACHIN OUT (6) was a winner here over the middle-distance trip 3 starts back when sent to the front from gate 3 and leading throughout. Following that with a 3rd to TOM ME GUN, he was forced to work in the breeze on Tues behind SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW. He is right in the fight here.

ONLY IN ROME (8) has been runner-up at his past 2 outings, the latest in a qualifier when working home from back in the pack over the 2138m behind CLARRY. With a cosy trip he will be probing.

COULDNTBETOLD (9) shoots for the hat-trick after out-slogging them to the line last start over this trip. That followed an all the way effort over the long trip at Redcliffe and he can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS COURAGE (7), MACHIN OUT (6), ONLY IN ROME (8), COULDNTBETOLD (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS COURAGE (7) to win

RACE NINE

ITZ MY GENERATION (7)
has started 4 times since arriving in Aus with his best return coming at Goulburn where he faced the breeze and went within a head of victory after tip-toeing through the 1st 1000m of the race. He met a smart one in BRIGHT ENERGY last start and despite gate 7 finds a very winnable race.

CAVALRYMAN (9) will be looking to make it 3 on the bounce after adding his 1st victory on this track last time out to his Marburg win 2 starts back. Pressing forward to take control from gate 2 over the mile last start, he led the charge and held on to score. With the right early trail, he is up to the task.

MONTEREY JACK (2) was angled to the pegs last start to look for short-cuts when hitting the line in good order to be 5m from the winner. Wide off the track the start prior, he can fire an early shot.

BROADWATER (8) was working home wide off the track last start when not too far behind them. Grabbed late when looking to lead throughout here 3 starts back, he will need some luck in transit.

SELECTIONS: ITZ MY GENERATION (7), CAVALRYMAN (9), MONTEREY JACK (2), BROADWATER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ITZ MY GENERATION (7) to win

RACE TEN

ESCALERA (11)
has returned 6 wins for the season, the latest coming last time out at Redcliffe. With an even tempo being set in front, he looked in trouble 3 back along the pegs until the gap opened at the 400m and he squeezed out, finishing best to score. With the right cart into this, he can arrive.

OUR UNCLE JIM (4) resumes from a break and will be making his Qld debut for the visiting Frisby team. A smart 3YO, he was given a shot in the Vic Derby which unravelled with a vet issue, his latest outing in a Bathurst Gold Chalice heat. With 3 trials to prepare for a return, he can challenge.

OUR LITTLE DIGGER (8) makes his Qld debut for the Kylie Rasmussen stable and can secure a cosy trip 1st up. A Bathurst winner 3 starts back, he has opened the pipes with 2 trials and will be probing for gaps.

CC JONES (1) looked to take them all the way over the longer 2138m trip here 2 starts back and was only collared in the latter stages. He worked home well last start and back to the mile from this gate suits.

SELECTIONS: ESCALERA (11), OUR UNCLE JIM (4), OUR LITTLE DIGGER (8), CC JONES (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
