RACE TWO

PRESTONPANS (7) arrives with the Tim Butt travelling team and despite the wide gate has started from similar alleys his past 3. Grabbed in the closing stages over the 2300m 3 starts back, he took them all the way 2 starts back in a 1.50.8 mile with a 54.3 closing half. He should have their measure.

OUR MAJOR DAY (10) will take further benefit from his latest outing when 2nd up from a freshen. Returning when down the line behind TULHURST ACE in a tough run when looking for position, he was closing out nicely last start. With a cart home he can be hitting the line strongly.

OLIVER WINKLE (1) was the beneficiary of an electric tempo set by Vasari last start and with the closing shot off his back arrived for the prize. With options from the gate he will be ready to strike.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (8) set a new career benchmark last start when finishing over the top and claim a 1.52.9 mile by a neck. An all the way winner 3 runs back, he will get a cosy trip and can charge late.

SELECTIONS: PRESTONPANS (7), OUR MAJOR DAY (10), OLIVER WINKLE (1), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PRESTONPANS (7) to win

RACE THREE

OUR MEMPHIS MAC (8) started from this gate last start and securing the pocket trail, couldn’t go on with it in the closing stages over the 2138m when chasing KARINYA MULLY. Settling for the bronze from the trail behind OYSTER STRIDE 2 starts back, the return to the mile suits, he just needs a gap.

RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (1) sat in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line over the 2138m here 2 starts back when finishing best up the passing lane to score. 6m in arrears in a strong sprint tri pat Redcliffe last start, he will have the options from the gate and can go close once again here.

GOD SAKE (5) found the power of NORTHVIEW HUSTLER too much here 2 starts back and last start over the 2138m did some early work to find position. This looks more suitable and he can feature.

THE GOLDEN CROSS (10) has no favours from this gate but should find the opponents easier than recent outings. An all the way winner at Marburg 3 starts back, he won’t be far away here.

SELECTIONS: OUR MEMPHIS MAC (8), RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (1), GOD SAKE (5), THE GOLDEN CROSS (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

With some handy efforts from back in the pack of late, PAY ME INTEREST (1) has been screaming out for a gate and she finds it here by way of the ace. Sent to the breeze from the six-hole last start, she was game when within 6m of the winner. With the available options, this looks her chance.

BURNING AMBITION (4) was forced to race tough at Redcliffe 2 starts back when sent forward from gate 4 and only faded late. Not suited from the 2nd line last start, she has slick moves off the arm and pouncing on the pegs here will be gripping on.

MISS PATRIOT (11) was locked away on the pegs at Redcliffe 2 starts back and using the passing lane sprinted sharply to arrive for the prize. Too far back last week, if receiving a cart home, she can place.

LUCKY LYLA (8) started fav from gate 1 last time out and after being crossed early, eased away from the pegs to avoid a pocket. In risk of being shuffled back again here, she can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: PAY ME INTEREST (1), BURNING AMBITION (4), MISS PATRIOT (11), LUCKY LYLA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PAY ME INTEREST (1) to win

RACE FIVE

CLINTAL DO (10) settled back in the pack from this same gate last start and charging home in the closing stages, attacked the line strongly for the bronze behind COLT THIRTY ONE. That followed a similar effort from back in the pack behind ROCK WITH SAM and with solid tempo can arrive in this.

OHOKA PUNTER (11) was heavily supported to run fav here in a mid-week FFA 2 starts back and from gate 5 was forced to retreat before working home to be 5m from the winner. He worked home well under stand-start conditions last time out and won’t be far away in this.

MARETTI (4) will strip fitter following his return to the track from a spell last time out. He was strong to the line when within 3m of the winner TOM ME GUN and from this alley will be right in the fight.

SPIKE BROMAC (1) secured the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line over this trip 2 starts back and with the cosy trip held on for the silver behind INNOCENT CROCKER. He can place with a similar trip.

SELECTIONS: CLINTAL DO (10), OHOKA PUNTER (11), MARETTI (4), SPIKE BROMAC (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CLINTAL DO (10) to win

RACE SIX

This clash has been creating some discussion and it eventuates here with challenger NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (10) meeting the champ COLT THIRTY ONE (4) for the 1st time. The Hustler has been brilliant since arriving in Qld and comes into this battle with 3 wins in succession. We will get to see him chasing for the 1st time and with a hot pressure up front, he can swoop home to score.

COLT THIRTY ONE (4) showed his fight last week when wide off the track and continuing to give to the line in scoring a 4m victory over the mile. 2 starts back he set a new 4YO benchmark for the 2138m trip and with the gate advantage he is the one to beat.

TULHURST ACE (9) has been in arguably career best form since arriving in Qld and last start made it a hat-trick of victories in comfortable fashion. He should land in a handy position and can feature.

There are a few that can certainly bob-up with the right run in transit, including LILAC FLASH (12) who should get a nice trail and loves the 2138m, ELENIARK (8) who is great form but will need some luck, while SLICE OF HEAVEN (3) might find it tough 1st up from a spell, he certainly has the talent.

SELECTIONS: NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (10), COLT THIRTY ONE (4), TULHURST ACE (9), LILAC FLASH (12)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

The early tactics here look to define this race with some good front line speed. He may not be best off the arm but VASARI (3) can continue to press forward here to set the tempo. He kept the speed on throughout in scoring 3 starts back and then did all but win in setting a 1.51.5 mile for OLIVER WINKLE. He can keep on trucking here.

PACIFIC DRUMS (4) resumes from a let-up after putting it together last campaign. Spearing out to lead in a 27.2 opener over the mile last start, he kept the kept the speed on to score a dominant win. With brilliant early speed he can fire the 1st shot and with options, thereafter, will be right in this.

BARRETT (1) is a 3YO taking on the older horses here but does have the gate benefit. Fitter after returning from a break, his return run had merit at Newcastle when closing out well. The gate helps

RAYS CHOICE (9) was one of the few runners to make any ground in the race won by OLIVER WINKLE 3 starts back and was tough from the breeze at his next outing. Going well, he just needs luck.

SELECTIONS: VASARI (3), PACIFIC DRUMS (4), BARRETT (1), RAYS CHOICE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: VASARI (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

IM ROCKNROLL MAGIC (2)
was charging to the line last start over the Menangle Mile when grabbing the silver in some slick closing panels. A winning fav 2 starts back when arriving for the prize after settling in the running line, he can press the issue early here and look to take control.

SKYFELLA CAM (1) has been racing well without really getting any reward for the effort. He found the line in good order last start behind CLARRY and 2 starts back was forced to do the heavy lifting outside VASARI. With the option for a soft run, he can be coiled and ready to strike.

HEZ ALL COURAGE (10) looked to have found conditions to suit last start from gate 1 yet didn’t have any answer for the finishing power of CLARRY. With a cart into the contest, look for him swooping.

IMA TOP TYCOON (8) is in consistent touch with a top-3 his past 5 in succession. He was attacking the line strongly last start when 3rd to KARINYA MULLY and will be charging home again here.

SELECTIONS: IM ROCKNROLL MAGIC (2), SKYFELLA CAM (1), HEZ ALL COURAGE (10), IMA TOP TYCOON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: IM ROCKNROLL MAGIC (2) to win

RACE NINE

ELLE YEAH (9)
will take great benefit from her run here last Sat when having her 1st race appearance in over 5 weeks. Forced to lead up the 3-wide train, she was strong to the line with the recipients of the cart home finishing well. Back to the mile is a big plus and with the right trip can arrive.

LISA LINCOLN (5) speared across from gate 4 to take up the lamp lighting duties last week, yet the cost was a sub 27 opening panel, meaning the lamps faded in the stretch with PARISIAN ROCKSTAR taking the prize. Within 3m of the winner 2 starts ago, the return to mares only is a big plus.

IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2) started fav last outing and with the speed to lead, looked to take them all the way. Settling for the bronze it was a sound effort and from the gate can feature again here.

FAME ASSURED (8) has not seen much luck at her past 2 starts and been charging home to fill the minors. Finishing 2m from ROCKNROLL EMMA last start, she will need some favours in transit here.

SELECTIONS: ELLE YEAH (9), LISA LINCOLN (5), IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2), FAME ASSURED (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ELLE YEAH (9) to win

RACE TEN

OUR OVERANOVA (8)
started fav from gate 11 under mobile conditions over the 2138m last start and was wide off the track in a game effort to be 9m from the winner. Only beaten 4m the start prior from a 55m impost, he relishes the distance of this and a win will be his 43rd on this track.

MAJESTIC COURTNEY (5) has won his past 4 in succession and will take further benefit from his latest victory when 2nd up from a break. Pressing on to find the front over the 2300m trip, he closed out strongly to claim a 3m victory. A smart 4YO on the up, this is harder, but he can give a sight.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (7) returns to Qld and the Steve Cini barn after a 5-start Sydney trip that didn’t bear fruit. A winner 6 starts back prior to departing, she can look to pick-up where she left.

EMPIRE BAY (1) led them up from the mobile last start when setting a good tempo over the 2138m and was only collared late by MAYBETOTHEMAX. Safe from the tapes he can look to dictate.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (8), MAJESTIC COURTNEY (5), QUIETLY SPOKEN (7), EMPIRE BAY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (8) to win

RACE ELEVEN

BRONZE ECSTASY (2)
has been racing well from tough gates and with the return to a good alley he can look to cash-in. Snagged back from gate 7 last start he found the line strongly from a long way back and 3 back in a similar race he was closing strongly. The stable is in-form and he can capitalise.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (6) met a much stronger line-up last start when holding on for the silver behind MACHIN OUT after racing in the pocket trail. Not suited when forced to race wide in the last lap the start prior at Marburg, he may only have 1 win in 40 attempts here, but this looks to suit.

WEE JIMMY (9) was trying to work into the race wide off the track last start and just started to labour the closing stages. With a nice run through in the early stages, he can chime in here.

LIVING GRAND (10) chased home gamely to finish mid-field behind ESCAERA last start over the 2040m at Redcliffe. Only grabbed on the line in a 2nd division qualifier 2 starts back, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: BRONZE ECSTASY (2), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (6), WEE JIMMY (9), LIVING GRAND (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BRONZE ECSTASY (2) to win
