RACE TWO

BILL HALEY (3) was making his Aus debut last start when taking on the AP mile and sent to the post as fav. That came off the back of a sharp trial where he really sizzled home in the closing stages. He finds his way into a fair class drop and if close enough should be able to account for this opposition.

FIRE AND ICE (10) is racing well without getting the returns and faces another tricky alley here. Last start from gate 6 he was working home in good order to be 8m from the winner, running some nice closing sections. That followed a nice finish 3 starts back and if the tempo is right, he can arrive.

RANFURLY RULZ (4) was angled to the pegs last start over the 2040m and was sound to the line behind RANDOM TASK. Finding early position and limiting the early burn are key to his chances here.

CONCENTRATION (2) lines up for the Donny Smith barn after a recent stable switch and that keeps him under notice. A horse with good early speed, if he can take control early, he can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: BILL HALEY (3), FIRE AND ICE (10), RANFURLY RULZ (4), CONCENTRATION (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BILL HALEY (3) to win

RACE THREE

TROUBLESOME DAVE (1) was having his 1st start at Redcliffe and 1st for this Winter visit for the Scott Hewitt yard here last week. Snagged back from a wide gate to find position, he found the line strongly grabbing 2nd when 3m from the winner. Hustling hard to protect the pegs, he can salute.

JUST TOMMY (7) was a long way back in the pack from the 2nd line last start and had a task with the leader setting a slick closing 800m, including a 27.5 last 400. He was in for the fight when cutting the breeze, the start prior and with the cosy trip on offer here will be ready to take the snipers shot.

SWAFFHAM WATER (8) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start when finishing 4m from the winner MACH TORQUE. With the option of a peg run, look for her flooding home late.
MY SECRET TORQUE (6) rolled forward from gate 3 last start and worked hard in the run when proving too strong to score over the 1780m. The gate does her no favours, yet she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TROUBLESOME DAVE (1), JUST TOMMY (7), SWAFFHAM WATER (8), MY SECRET TORQUE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TROUBLESOME DAVE (1) to win

RACE FOUR

OUR DELIGHT (7)
started from gate 9 over the 2138m at AP last start and after settling in the running line was hitting the line in good order in the closing stages when 8m from the subsequent Sat night winner SHEISWATCHING. She will need some luck from this gate but is up to the task.

WANDARY MUSCAT (4) made her Qld debut in the best way possible when swooping home in the closing stages to claim a smart win. Forced to do it tough last start from the breeze, she faded in the closing stages under the tough run. With this an easier looking assignment, she can go close.

FAMOUS SHOES (2) has been in the money of late, placing at his past 2 which had followed a win when securing the pocket trail. Both placings were from the 2nd line and with the alley has claims.

GUTS (6) has been in the money at his past 4 starts, the latest a tough effort when facing the breeze and going within a flared nostril of success. The gate hurts but he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: OUR DELIGHT (7), WANDARY MUSCAT (4), FAMOUS SHOES (2), GUTS (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

SHOWEM SIMON (1) rolled across from gate 4 over the 2040m trip last start and once able to take control, kept an even tempo throughout to keep them chasing, holding on to claim victory by a head. From the gate he looks set to again dictate terms and can make it back-to-back wins.

ARK PATROL (10) was sent forward from gate 6 last start and was in for the fight when only 4m after a tough trip. That followed an all the way win when dong it easy to claim victory by a neck. While he doesn’t have any favours from the gate, he is in good touch and can make career start 50 a success.

TAXI METER (7) made the most of conditions 2 starts back over the AP mile to take them all the way in a career best win rate. Forget his last start when striking trouble, he can close hard here.

LURAH (5) went to the grass at Kilcoy last start when grabbing the bronze. 2nd from the pocket trail at AP 3 starts back, she can be swooping home late in this.

SELECTIONS: SHOWEM SIMON (1), ARK PATROL (10), TAXI METER (7), LURAH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SHOWEM SIMON (1) to win

RACE SIX

BACK PAGE NEWS (10)
might have come up with the tough gate out the back, however he should appreciate finding this class of opponent and should also strip fitter following his latest assignment. Resuming from a break last start, he did plenty of early work that took its toll. This looks ideal.

STUDLEIGH WILL (7) wasn’t suited last start when sent forward to the breeze and under the hard run faded out in the closing stages. His run 5 starts back was full of merit when within 6m of the winner KEY LARGO and with the right trip here can issue the closing challenge.

ONYA DOUG (1) started fav from outside the front line at Marburg last start and was never a hope when forced to retreat. With his runs well-spaced, he can look to capitalise from the gate this time.

TASCOTT LADY (9) was buried away on the pegs last start when finishing mid-field. That followed a tough run in the breeze and from the tricky gate, looks best suited to fill the minors.

SELECTIONS: BACK PAGE NEWS (10), STUDLEIGH WILL (7), ONYA DOUG (1), TASCOTT LADY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BACK PAGE NEWS (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

Starting fav here 4 starts back, OVERTHEMOON (4) looked to take them all the way from gate 1 when grabbed right on the line and beaten a head. Since that run, he has met stronger opponents than he will face here, the latest when gunned down in front. With even luck he can take this.

CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (5) was sent forward from gate 9 last start and after being forced to breeze, was then able to find the pocket trail when the field was disrupted. Chasing gamely, she held on for the bronze behind the in-form FEELINGFORARAINBOW. She looks well suited.

LITTLE ARROWS (8) rolled forward to the breeze from gate 5 last time out and content to face the breeze, proved too strong to claim a 9m victory. With the confidence of that win she can feature.

RUM AND SCHOTZ (7) did his share of early work last start and was still thereabouts at the finish when holding on for 3rd. He will need some luck from this alley, but can look to fill the minors.

SELECTIONS: OVERTHEMOON (4), CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (5), LITTLE ARROWS (8), RUM AND SCHOTZ (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OVERTHEMOON (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAJESTIC WHIZ (3)
has been runner-up at her past 2 starts, both from the stand. The latest was when she was best of the chasers behind the big winner GREG THE GREAT, working home in nice style. This looks an open contest and with the right manners, she can end a long winless streak.

HIGH CLOUD LASS (5) is the most experienced square-gaiter in the field, yet her form has been a bit below her best of late. Striking this field from this alley, the 7YO will get the chance to race back into some form. Tough from the breeze at Marburg 4 starts back, this is the right type of race.

SMOKEY NOVA (7) will have some early options as the lone 2nd line runner and can look to get away from the pegs if needed. Forget her last start when striking trouble, she is in the mix here.

BOURBONONTHEROCKS (4) has been kept fresh with just the 1 appearance since April. Banished to the trials last time out, her record from the mobile is handy and she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC WHIZ (3), HIGH CLOUD LASS (5), SMOKEY NOVA (7), BOURBONONTHEROCKS (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

TORQUE IS MY GIRL (1)
is still yet to breakthrough this season, placing in 6 of her 10 outings. 2nd here 3 starts back when only a head in arrears of the winner, she has been mid-field at her past 2 when trying to make late ground. With the benefit of the ace, she gets every chance to capitalise.

COBALT BLUES (4) added another minor to his tally last start to make it a top-three in 7 of his past 8 appearances. Best of the chasers behind THATS BETTOR here 2 starts back, he was 2nd to his stablemate, the smart MONTANA CHIEF last start on the grass at Kilcoy. He is a big threat.

MAC SWEENEY (5) made his race debut with a tidy effort from the 2nd line when finishing mid-field behind THATS BETTOR. With the experience from that he can show improvement to chime in here.

RANCHO MAN (6) isn’t afforded any favours from this alley, but has been racing slightly tougher competition of late. His run 5 starts back had merit and with even luck has some claims.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE IS MY GIRL (1), COBALT BLUES (4), MAC SWEENEY (5), RANCHO MAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE IS MY GIRL (1) to win
