RACE TWO

WECANONLYHOPE (7)
was taken off the gate last time out from the four-hole over the AP mile and was facing a task thereafter. Snagged back from gate 5 at Redcliffe 2 starts back, she was making good metres in the closing stages to grab the silver. With the right trail through in the early stages, she can claim a tricky little contest.

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (8) eased back from gate 6 at Redcliffe 3 starts back prior to probing for gaps and using the passing lane to grab the bronze. Again, retreating from gate 6 at her next start, it was a tidy effort behind DAPPER BESSIE. Scoring a smart win last start with margins of 4m x 30m, she can feature again.

ITMIGHTBEYOU (1) was searching for a hat-trick of wins 2 starts back when leading them deep into the stretch, only to be nabbed right on the wire. Not suited in the breeze last start, she can set the tempo here and be gripping on.

MELTON LUCKY (4) used the passing lane to grab 3rd over the 2040m 2 starts back and followed that with a down the line effort last time. The gate hurts but he can fill the exotics with even luck.

SELECTIONS: WECANONLYHOPE (7), WESTERN SHOWGIRL (8), ITMIGHTBEYOU (1), MELTON LUCKY (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (3) opened his Qld account in perfect style when rolling the sleeves to slog away outside the leader and cruise home to a comfortable 10m victory. Making an error when 2nd up, he was banished to the trials and has earned the return with a tody hit out at AP. He can work if needed and looks to have their measure.

JINGLES BROMAC (8) eased forward from gate 4 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last time out, trying to find space, it was  tight squeeze in finding the 1x1 trail. Fading late, he will take benefit from the run after resuming from 7 weeks off the scene. With a cart home, he can be chiming in late in this.

OOZINVILLE (2) will be 1st up from a break here and has been back to the trials in readiness for the return. Only beaten a half-head 2 starts back when leading them up, he can fire the 1st shot here.

LITTLEDEE (1) wasn’t suited last start when forced to do it the tough way when setting up outside the leader. With the benefit of the ace, she can get the right trip and will be probing for an opening.

SELECTIONS: FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (3), JINGLES BROMAC (8), OOZINVILLE (2), LITTLEDEE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (3) to win

RACE FOUR

EBIL STAR (4)
is only a lightly raced 7YO and will make his Qld debut for the astute Ryan Veivers barn who have a great record with producing horses 1st up. Finishing down the line last start at Newcastle, his lone win from his 7 attempts, came at Canberra when showing good early speed. He is under a firm watch.

RANCHO MAN (2) released last start at Redcliffe from gate 1 to settle in the pocket trail. Using the passing lane, he was within 3.5m of the winner. Taking good benefit from that appearance where he was 2nd up from a break, he has a tidy record on this track and from this gate will be in the fight.

KAY NORA SHANNON (8) eased from gate 4 to find position last start and soon settle well back in the pack. Using the passing lane to get within 5m of the winner, she may have been closer with a clearer passage. The gate hurts, but she is in the mix.

GUTS (5) doesn’t have any favours from outside the front line, however he will find this easier than his last start when not too far away from HAVING THE FAITH. He is a podium chance with even luck.

SELECTIONS: EBIL STAR (4), RANCHO MAN (2), KAY NORA SHANNON (8), GUTS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: KAY NORA SHANNON (8) to place

RACE FIVE

ROWDYS ACE (1) held them all wide from the ace at Redcliffe last start over the sprint trip. Setting a solid tempo, he was in for the fight when gripping on to be 3m in arrears of the winner PITTSWORTH MAN. With the benefit of the gate, he can take on the lamp lighting duties and look to fight them off.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (6) tried to take them all the way in a stronger line-up at Redcliffe 2 starts back when nabbed up the passing lane by LOYOLA TRIOS. Working home in nice style the start prior, she was taking on a stronger line-up at AP on Thursday. She will be trying to force into the clear here.

PITTSWORTH MAN (7) made the most of the perfect trip in the pocket trail last time out and made the closing shot a winner. Hitting the line in good order 2 starts back, he can feature again here.

OUR BUSCEMI (4) is yet to find a return in 3 visits to Marburg, with his recent efforts at Redcliffe sound. Working home to grab 3rd 2 starts back, not much went his way last time and he can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: ROWDYS ACE (1), MAFFIOSO GIRL (6), PITTSWORTH MAN (7), OUR BUSCEMI (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-6-7

RACE SIX

It has been a while between victory drinks for KARLOO MAC (2), however he might just have found the conditions to turn that around here. Snagged back from gate 6 last start at Redcliffe, he was sound to the line behind COMMODORE JUJON. Not too far away behind LETTERKENNY BOY 3 starts back, he has he gate to fire the 1st shot and is worth a ticket in this.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4) was locked away on the pegs over the 1780m at Redcliffe last start and when he finally saw some open space, really hit the line in fine style. Beaten by a wide gate the start prior as AT WEST POINT carved out a sizzling mile, if he can position cheaply, he can throw down the challenge.

MAJORDOIT (8) started from gate 1 last time when beaten for early speed. With the cosy trip he held the bronze when 4m in arrears of the winner ELMS CREEK. The gate stings but with a 2 for 2 record here at the track will be in the mix.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (3) resumes from a spell and will come into this without a public trial to prepare. Tapering off last campaign, he can settle handy and with a top-3 at 50% of his visits to the Marburg surface, can be in the mix

SELECTIONS: KARLOO MAC (2), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4), MAJORDOIT (8), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: KARLOO MAC (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

SCHEU CREEK (6) will need some factors in his favour from this alley, yet if they fall into place, he can arrive for the prize. Hitting the line strongly from a long way back last start to get within 4m of the winner, it followed a sound effort behind SOHO TSUNAMI. With a smart record on the track, he just needs the luck.

JACKS GAMBIT (1) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when taking control from gate 1 and taking them all the way in holding on for a 2m winning margin. Luckless at his next outings, he used the passing lane last start when 3rd to JEWEL OF PEAK who led throughout. He can look to dictate here.

JEWEL OF PEAK (5) has a great record on this track with 3 wins from her 4 outings, including owning the track record over this trip. Taking them all the way last start at Redcliffe, the gate stings her hopes, yet she cannot be ignored.

DONT CALL ME (2) retreated from gate 5 at Redcliffe last start and then was too far back when trying to make ground against the tempo. A passing lane 3rd 2 starts back, the gate aids his chances.

SELECTIONS: SCHEU CREEK (6), JACKS GAMBIT (1), JEWEL OF PEAK (5), DONT CALL ME (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SCHEU CREEK (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

I doubt a last start winner that has gone sub 1.52 in winning its previous start has lined up at Marburg at its next run, but we see that here with AT WEST POINT (3). Pressing ahead to take control over the AP mile last start, he cut the mile in 1.51.9. Tough in the breeze 2 starts back, he looks to have their measure.

VALOROSO HANOVER (1) found the front at Redcliffe 2 starts back where he was able to run even panels in holding on to claim a 1.5m victory. Not suited when forced to work last start and fading out, he will have the benefit of the early options here to put in his bid for victory.

ALE ALE KAI (6) will be requiring a slice of luck from this gate to find space to make a play. Closing strongly 2 starts back to grab the bronze, she will be probing for the openings here.

LIVE ATOM (2) makes his 1st appearance on this surface and lands he gate to settle close to the action. A passing lane winner 2 starts back over the AP mile, he will be ready to make a closing play.

SELECTIONS: AT WEST POINT (3), VALOROSO HANOVER (1), ALE ALE KAI (6), LIVE ATOM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: AT WEST POINT (3) to win
