RACE TWO

GLITTER STRIP (7) settled in the pocket trail last start in the Breeders Final and with the cosy trip held on for the bronze behind BIG WHEELS. Hitting the line nicely here 2 starts back at his 1st look at the triangle, he was only 4m from the subsequent winner SWEET LOMBO. With the early options as the lone 2nd line runner, he can capitalise.

LILLIES (2) eased early when finishing mid-field, 9m from the winner BIG WHEELS when making her race debut at AP. 2nd up into the Breeders Consolation, she secured the pocket trail from gate 2 and chased gamely to be 2m from the winner and claim the silver. With the good gate in her 1st look at the triangle, she can lay down the challenge.

WHATTA GOOD REASON (4) was snagged back from gate 6 here last start and from back in the pack was chasing hard to be 5m in arrears of the winner SWEET LOMBO. Its an improved gate and if able to optimise his position early, he looms large.

SHERBETS CHOICE (3) is a Betterthancheddar gelding on debut for Mark Belford and is the 1st foal out of the 10-time winner Nomunnofun. With a handy trial in readiness for his debut, he stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: GLITTER STRIP (7), LILLIES (2), WHATTA GOOD REASON (4), SHERBETS CHOICE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GLITTER STRIP (7) to win

RACE THREE

PERFECT FEELING (4)
has been a model of consistency in this grade here on the triangle, finishing in the top-3 in 8 of his past 9 starts here at Redcliffe. Buried away from inside the 2nd line here last start, he didn’t see space until it was too late. They were too sharp for him in the 4YO Triad Final 2 starts back, but in this grade, he can capitalise.

CARIBBEAN ROCKET (7) found the pocket trail last start and took his shot via the passing lane, but just couldn’t muster the speed to hold out the swoopers when 2m in arrears of the winner SIR JUJON. With the likelihood of a cheap ride on the markers, he will be probing for the gaps to take his shot.

ILLBEWATCHING (1) wasn’t suited last start when forced to do it the tough way and despite the steady rate, faded from the tough run. He has had to work in his past 3 starts and with the opportunity for a more economical trip, can feature.

REDDY FIRE (8) finished down the line last start after doing it tough in transit. The start prior he didn’t have the smoothest passage and if able to secure a smooth trip, can be sharper here.

SELECTIONS: PERFECT FEELING (4), CARIBBEAN ROCKET (7), ILLBEWATCHING (1), REDDY FIRE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PERFECT FEELING (4) to win

RACE FOUR

A tricky little contest to dissect where DAPPER BESSIE (5) will be 1st up in 12 months and lines up for the new stable, making her 1st outing for the Darren Weeks barn. Forced to work in the run at her last start over the AP mile, she was mid-field and shut down for the term. With a tidy trial behind JIGGLE AND JIVE to prepare, she is right in the fight.

DUKE (8) might just be ready to open his Qld account. Starting form this gate last time out, he secured the 1x1 trail but with the leader and winner turning it into a last panel blitz, he was chasing in vain. Gunned down in front the start prior, will this be his day?

KID CALVERT (2) was snagged back from gate 5 over this trip last start and settled well back on the pegs. Closing soundly when mid-field, e can settle closer here and has podium claims.

MODERN THOUGHT (7) started from this gate last start when buried away 3 back and probing for the openings. Chiming in to grab 3rd to BEEF CITY STARZZZ, she will be searching for the gaps again.

SELECTIONS: DUKE (8), DAPPER BESSIE (5), KID CALVERT (2), MODERN THOUGHT (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

MISS FERNANDEZ (6)
was sent forward and had to roll the sleeves for the hard stuff outside the leader over the 1780m last start. In for the fight, she only faded the closing stages when 6m in arrears of the winner. Building an added fitness base after 3 runs back from over 12 months off, she strikes the right type of contest to breakthrough

LOOKS JUST RIGHT (4) will take good benefit from his latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Pressing on to take up the running, once he took control, he was never in danger in cruising home to a big 18m maiden breaking victory. With the winning confidence, he can look to go back-to-back.

BRONSKI MACARENA (8) returns from a freshen, finishing down the line last start in a stronger mares contest. A winner here 2 starts back, with the right run in transit, she can chime in.

MISS GIULETTA (5) was a passing lane winner here 3 starts back when arriving on the line for a narrow victory at huge odds. Again, using the inside to grab the silver last start, she is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: MISS FERNANDEZ (6), LOOKS JUST RIGHT (4), BRONSKI MACARENA (8), MISS GIULETTA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS FERNANDEZ (6) to win

RACE SIX

BEEF CITY STARZZZ (3) made the most of conditions last start and appreciating the drop-in class, proved too strong. Sent straight to the front from the two-hole, he controlled the speed and developing it into a turn and burn, had 9m to spare. With similar tactics, he will be hard to stop.

WHERES TASCOTT (1) has been campaigning at AP and will find the return to the triangle from the good gate in her favour. Obliged to do it the hard way in the breeze last start, she faded late, with that run following a 3rd when sent out fav. Placed in 5 of 10 here at the Peninsula, she is the threat.

IMA REGAL JET (7) has placed in 3 of his past 5 starts, the latest when looking to lead throughout. Leading deep into the stretch, he was beaten a half-neck and with the cosy trip will be probing for the gaps here.

AROONA (2) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start and made a closing play to grab the silver when 3m in deficit of the winner. Settling handy, he can be ready to feature in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: BEEF CITY STARZZZ (3), WHERES TASCOTT (1), IMA REGAL JET (7), AROONA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-7

RACE SEVEN

FEELS LIKA WINNER (1) started a short-priced fav last start and despite being repelled for the lamp lighting duties, proved too strong in a nice last 800m to score a gritty victory. A beaten fav the start prior after copping some early heat, she has the options with her gate speed and looks hard to stop again.

JEWEL OF PEAK (5) fired off the arm last start over the sprint trip in a mares event and taking control was never in danger, putting them away with a nice closing half. Not too far away the start prior in the Fillies Triad Consolation, she has speed to have an early look here and can ask some questions.

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (7) will need to hustle to protect the pegs, but if able to kick through early, will be in a great position. Down the line last start in a 2nd division qualifier, he can feature in this grade.

CANNAN (2) hasn’t been too far away in recent starts, including last start when he was best of the chasers behind the dictating winner TOANUI SPIRIT. A winner 4 starts back, settling handy to the action he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: FEELS LIKA WINNER (1), JEWEL OF PEAK (5), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (7), CANNAN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FEELS LIKA WINNER (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

This looks a tricky race with a few of these much better suited to the sprint trip than the 2040m of this contest. After placing at his past 2 starts FRENCH GLOBE (1) can look to make the most of the gate here. Grabbed late by a charging TARGARYEN HANOVER after setting the tempo last start, he will be gripping on here.

HOT DOGMA (6) is working back to somewhere near his best after a run of outs. Easing back form gate 5 last start to look for shortcuts, he was finding the line strongly to be within 3m of the winner. The gate is a stinger and he will need to do some work at some point, but can look to issue a challenge.

CC JONES (8) was sent forward from the 2nd line to set up outside the leader last start but after a tough trip faded in the closing stages. A smart winner here 2 starts back, the 2nd line over this trip is a big query.

UNDERTHEKILT (7) was attacking the line strongly here 2 starts back to get within a head of the winner. Franking that effort with a passing lane victory last time out, he can be ready to take the snipers shot.

SELECTIONS: FRENCH GLOBE (1), HOT DOGMA (6), CC JONES (8), UNDERTHEKILT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FRENCH GLOBE (1) to win

RACE NINE

BURMACH (3) is consistently in the money with a top-3 at his past 8 in succession. Taking on a qualifier last start, he was able to squeeze into the pocket trail from gate 3 in a handy piece of steering. With the cosy trip thereafter, he was best of the chasers behind SPRING CAMPAIGN. He can fire off the arm and look to dictate.

CAMROLLER (1) didn’t have the speed to keep BURMACH out of the trail last start and was banished to 3 pegs, chasing home to be 9m from SPRING CAMPAIGN, finishing in 4th. He found the line in good order the start prior behind MAJOR GENERALJUJON and holding the trail can take the snipers shot.

ONLY IN ROME (8) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon off the inside into the 1x1 trail over the 1780m. With the good run, he was presented at the right time, arriving to claim a 2m victory. He can go close again here.

MAJOR SCORE (5) settled in the running line last start from the 2nd line and was making a closing play to be 3m from the winner. Game in the breeze the start prior, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: BURMACH (3), CAMROLLER (1), ONLY IN ROME (8), MAJOR SCORE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BURMACH (3) to win
