RACE ONE

MACH SAM (4)
used the passing lane to score over this trip 4 starts back and followed that with a solid effort in a Rising Stars Series where he was 2nd in the heat and then ran a bold race in the final. He can roll forward from this gate to hold position and looks to get his chance to finish over the top.

MIDNIGHT BENDER (2) scored via the passing lane 4 starts back and has placed in 2 of his next 3 starts. Looking to take them all the way off gate 5 here 2 starts back he was grabbed in the closing stages. Sent to the front from this gate he will be gripping to the lead in the stretch.

BOB GAGE (5) is in consistent form at present and has been in the money at 8 of his past 10 starts including a pair of wins. Last start off gate 1 he was an easy leader and once in control took them all the way. The gate makes it tricky here but he can do some work and can get into the contest.

SPLASH OF GOLD (7) will need a slice of luck as she looks likely to be buried away on the pegs. After a long stretch of looking for her first outright win of the season, she cashed in last week when using the passing lane to score. Look for her flashing late when the gaps appear.

SELECTIONS: MACH SAM (4), MIDNIGHT BENDER (2), BOB GAGE (5), SPLASH OF GOLD (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH SAM (4) to win

RACE TWO

PITTSWORTH MAN (2) was 1st up from a break when looking to lead throughout and was well below his best when fading out. Freshened he returned with a nice effort after being buried away and finishing mid-field behind BOB GAGE. With the added fitness and the good gate, he can dictate here.

WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (7) will take benefit from her 1st start in Qld off a break last Thursday. Sent to the front off gate 2 she was able to control the tempo early but couldn’t see it out when grabbed late by SOPHIES PRIDE. She will need plenty of luck off this gate but can feature if the gaps open.

LYNCHMAN (5) shouldn’t find this any harder than what he has been meeting in recent starts and can look to roll forward to find position. Last start over the 2040m trip he was running even panels in front when rundown in the closing stages. He is right in the fight.

WEASEL (6) has the tough gate to overcome but finds a suitable race to issue a challenge. Buried on the pegs off gate 1 here 3 starts back his effort was fair behind ROCKNROLL AMBER. Last start he was making good closing ground and has some claims here.

SELECTIONS: PITTSWORTH MAN (2), WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (7), LYNCHMAN (5), WEASEL (6)
SUGGESTED BET: PITTSWORTH MAN (2) to win

RACE THREE

RARING TO GO (1) returned a tidy effort when 2nd to the flying MARETTI 2 starts back over the 2138m trip at AP. He then found his race last start when finding the front and once in control dictated terms to score a nice win. Back to the triangle off this gate he will have them chasing.

JAZZY ARTIST (4) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts with the latest from this same gate over the middle distance trip of 2040m when cutting the breeze. Her run 2 starts back off the 2nd line was a top effort when 2nd to ROCKNROLL AMBER and she can throw down a challenge in this line-up.

ROYAL TAZ (7) will get the cosy trail here and look to issue a challenge when the gaps open. Angled down to the pegs to look for luck off the 2nd line last start and was making good closing ground. His previous 2 runs were tidy along the pegs and from that spot again will be coiled and ready to strike.

MONUMENTAL (8) can drop down to the pegs early here for the cosy trip and probe for the gaps and some luck in the closing stages. He found his race at AP 2 starts back and came with a well-times run to arrive on the line for a nice win. His past 2 have been in stronger contests and he can feature.

SELECTIONS: RARING TO GO (1), JAZZY ARTIST (4), ROYAL TAZ (7), MONUMENTAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-4-7-8

RACE FOUR

BIG BEAT (1)
will be fitter again after 3 runs back from a spell. The latest run came off this gate over this trip and with the speed to hold the front dictated terms and was never in danger in scoring a 16m victory. From the gate he can look to dictate again and looks hard to stop.

THE FRAME (2) has started to put it all together and shoots for a hat-trick of victories here on the triangle. Last start he took them all the way off gate 1 and that followed a strong effort off the 2nd line. Still not fool-proof at this stage he will need to work and this looks his biggest test to date.

BUDDY BABCOCK (8) has been in the money at his past 3 in succession, the last 2 when beaten under 2m in each from 2nd line gates. Angled down to the pegs again here should provide a cosy trip and while he will need a slice of luck to see space with momentum, look for him flashing late.

JULES AND DENISE (3) was a winner here over the 1780m trip 4 starts back when leading throughout off gate 3 for a solid 12m victory. Finding the front last start from gate 4 she was grabbed in the closing stages to finish 4m from the winner SHERIFF JUJON. Freshened since that she can podium.

SELECTIONS: BIG BEAT (1), THE FRAME (2), BUDDY BABCOCK (8), JULES AND DENISE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG BEAT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

DARBY BRIGHTS (8)
will be fitter following her latest run which was her 2nd run back for her 3YO term. Resuming from inside the 2nd line she was sent forward early to face the breeze and fought hard when 2nd to THE FRAME. Last start at AP she found the pocket trial and sprinted sharply to score a nice win. This is easier and she looks mighty hard to stop.

OUR DASHER (1) finally lands an alley after being no closer than gate 5 in 7 career starts. She has been well-beaten in her 4 runs back this campaign, but with the improved gate she will settle much closer than she has been in recent starts and can be a big improver.

NOT ALWAYS (4) was well supported here over the 1780m trip 2 starts back and from gate 2 was in the pocket trail when finishing a 3m runner-up behind HEADWIN. Forget his last start when making an error, he has place claims in this.

YARRAMAN DOLLY (3) is a first starter by Melton Gunna out of the six-win mare Left at Yarraman. A 4YO mare making her debut for trainer Kerry Ebert, she was a big trial winner and with natural progression out of that can podium in this.

SELECTIONS: DARBY BRIGHTS (8), OUR DASHER (1), NOT ALWAYS (4), YARRAMAN DOLLY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: DARBY BRIGHTS (8) to win

RACE SIX

PONOVER (1) doesn’t have a great deal to recommend him, however he strikes a race here when he might just bob-up. With enough speed to hold the front, he can look to control the tempo and from the front will need to fight. His last start was a fair effort and he can cash-in here.

JUST CALL ME GOOSE (2) has the lone career win to his name with that win coming when able to lead throughout off this gate. Send forward off gate 5 last week he was able to find position and ran a fair race behind SOPHIES PRIDE. He can challenge early and if able to cross will take some catching.

SONNY ORLANDO (3) is getting closer to a maiden Qld win and this is the type of line-up that he can breakthrough in. Last week he was working home in good order when claiming the silver behind THE FORMUALA ONE. With even luck in transit this could be his night.

MANY DELIGHTS (5) will be tighter following 3 runs back from a spell with the latest run when working hard from the breeze after working around them early from the 2nd line. The smaller field should suit and he can throw down a challenge.

SELECTIONS: PONOVER (1), JUST CALL ME GOOSE (2), SONNY ORLANDO (3), MANY DELIGHTS (5)
SUGGESTED BET:
