Race 2 – Grand De Lago

Comes to this race after two placings on heavy going at Ipswich and Doomben. The John Zielke-trained runner broke his maiden in soft going at Dalby back in December and should handle the conditions.

Race 3 – Sweet Adaline

The Desleigh Forster-trained mare is yet to miss a place in heavy conditions. If the rain hangs around until Saturday she looks primed to bring up career win number two.

Race 4 – Gully Command

Ben Currie’s stallion has only found the heavy going four times in his 42 career start, but has managed to cross the line first on two occasions. The latest came at Doomben over a similar distance during last year’s Winter Carnival.

Race 5 – War Baby

The six-year-old mare scored her first win in 17 outings when she saluted at the Gold Coast two starts back. Three of her nine career wins have come on heavy ground, with a further two placings. She can make her presence felt on a genuine heavy track.

Race 6 – Suggan Buggan

All four of the Robert Heathecote-trained gelding’s wins have come on rain-affected ground. He glided over the ground at his only start in heavy going at the Sunshine coast in October. However, his last-start win at Doomben (March 10) came on a Soft 7 just before the track was downgraded to heavy.

Race 7 – Inspired Estelle

The former Victorian mare has found form in Queensland, especially on rain affected tracks.  She ate up the heavy going when defeating Criquette at Doomben on March 10, and looks well suited again on Saturday.

Race 8 – Tisani Tomso

This seven-year-old gelding would probably eat mud if he could. Although he’s faced the heavy just three times he has always risen to the occasion. There will be no problems should the track improve to a soft, with his record standing at 15:4-1-2.

DANIEL BULLIMORE OPEN Handicap 1200m

Race 9 – Guissola

This colt showed his wares on a heavy track at his fourth start at the Sunshine Coast in June last year. Last start he was run down late by Wild Ava over the same track and distance, but meets tougher opposition here.
