RACE TWO

TELL THE LINESMAN (1) started fav here 2 starts back over the 2138m and sent forward early soon received running line cover. Making a closing play, he had too much in reserve to claim a 2m victory. Too far back at Redcliffe at his latest start, he comes up with the options here and gets every chance.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY (6) settled in the pocket trail last start at Menangle and chased hard to hold on for the silver when 7m from the winner AFTERDINNERSPEAKER. Buried in the run 2 starts back when probing for openings, he makes his AP debut and with even luck in transit can give this a shake.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (9) is getting closer to a win in the right contest and from this gate should secure a nice run in transit. Closing nicely behind CHERRYS THE BEST last start, he has podium claims.

DONNY JONES (8) found the right race at Redcliffe 3 starts back when leading all the way. Not too far away behind TWITTER BROMAC on Tues, he will get an easy trip here to be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TELL THE LINESMAN (1), BETTOR TO BE TRICKY (6), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (9), DONNY JONES (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TELL THE LINESMAN (1) to win

RACE THREE

OUR SEQUEL (3) returned from a spell in fine fettle when finishing over the top of them late to claim victory over the 2030m at Newcastle. Wide off the track at Penrith when 2nd up, forget his latest start when striking trouble. He finds the right type of race to take his win record to 8 from 16.

JUST JOSHIN (1) steps up in grade here but has been super consistent with a top-3 in his past 5 in succession. Locked away from inside the 2nd line last start at over the 2040m at Redcliffe, he was a smart winner there 2 starts back. With the peg-line benefits he can feature.

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (6) is going well and a win isn’t far away when he can land a marble. Strong late after an early look over his less preferred 2138m trip last week, he can chime in again here.

CELTIC CRUZA (8) found his race here 2 starts back when finishing over the top to claim a narrow victory over the 2138m. His last start was full of merit and he will be probing for space to offer in this.

SELECTIONS: OUR SEQUEL (3), JUST JOSHIN (1), RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (6), CELTIC CRUZA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR SEQUEL (3) to win

RACE FOUR

MAJOR CURRENCY (1)
speared out to take control last start over the mile and from the front dictated terms to cruise home with 5m to spare. That followed a pair of nice runs from 2nd line gates after winning over this trip here 4 back. With the early options, he looks the one to beat.

BIG BANG LEONARD (2) was sent to the breeze last start from the 2nd line and rolling the sleeves was in for the fight when 6m from the winner CARDLESFROMHEAVEN. A beaten fav the start prior when just too far back in the pack, his run 3 back was a strong effort. Working or waiting, he can challenge.

JAMIES BAD BOY (4) packed too much heat here last week when rolling forward to the breeze and proving too strong in claiming a smart win at the 2138m. A model of consistency, he is in the mix.

IM MAJOR HARRY (8) didn’t have the smoothest passage last start when not too far away. Holding on for the bronze behind KID MONTANA the start prior, the soft run can see him offer in this.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR CURRENCY (1), BIG BANG LEONARD (2), JAMIES BAD BOY (4), IM MAJOR HARRY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR CURRENCY (1) to win

RACE FIVE

SAMS THE MASTER (2) has some poor numbers next to his name, reflecting the fact he hasn’t had things go his way of late. Forced to retreat last start from gate 4, he struck trouble that ended his chances. Just too far back the start prior, he can look to fire off the gate here and look to dictate.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1) made the most of finding an easier contest here 2 starts back and finding the front cruised home to an easy victory. Holding on for the bronze behind MACH ALERT last start after doing some early work, she has the options here and is right in the fight.

MATTGREGOR (8) returns from a NSW campaign where he was only 8m from MAJORDAN in the Newcastle Mile and then wasn’t far away at Menangle. He will be probing for the openings.

MACH ALERT (10) turned back the clock last week when holding up from the ace and taking them all the way, closing out in 27 flat. The gate hurts but look for him swooping late looking to chime in.

SELECTIONS: SAMS THE MASTER (2), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1), MATTGREGOR (8), MACH ALERT (10)
SUGGESTED BET: SAMS THE MASTER (2) to win

RACE SIX

WITH THE BAND (5) is 4 from 6 since arriving with both her misses coming when drawn wide where she has raced from the back. Sent forward from this gate over the mile 2 starts back, she was too strong in front in cruising home to a career PB. Taking on mares only for the 1st time, she can press ahead to take this.

DE VOYAGE (3) was working home strongly last start to grab the bronze behind the in-form B MAC C. That followed a huge effort in defeat after making an error and then charging home to be within 4m of the winner MATRON JUJON in a mares qualifier. From the good gate she looms large in this.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (9) was sent to the pegs last start from this same gate over the 2138m when probing for space in finishing 5m from the winner SLIPPERY JADE. Runner-up in her previous 2, she is in the mix.

JOANNIES GIRL (10) settled in the pocket trail over the middle-distance last start and making a closing play went within an eyelash of landing the loot. The gate hurts but she can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: WITH THE BAND (5), DE VOYAGE (3), SAINT KILDA BEACH (9), JOANNIES GIRL (10)
SUGGESTED BET: WITH THE BAND (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

After two rounds and six heats at 2138m, the capacity field for arguably the strongest McNeil Series Final will line up over the 2647m for the G3 prize. HEART OF CHANGE (13) worked home strongly in her 1st heat to claim a smart win and followed that with a tough 2nd when sent to the breeze early and only 2m away in the 2nd round. Really starting to trot cleanly, she can arrive.

MAJESTIC SIMON (15) has worked into this series in the right way and will be further tightened from the 2nd round when he was 2nd up from a break. Working home strongly for the bronze in the 1st round, he was given time to balance before charging home for the prize last time. He is a big danger.

THE REAPER (2) has hit form at the right time and will head into the final looking to make a clean sweep of the series after leading throughout in both heat rounds. The rise to the 2647m is the query, but his manners are a big plus.

SKYLINE (7) was too strong for them in the 1st round when taking a heat victory from the breeze. His 2nd round was a nice effort after making a mess of things early, but if on his game, can feature.

SELECTIONS: HEART OF CHANGE (13), MAJESTIC SIMON (15), THE REAPER (2), SKYLINE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HEART OF CHANGE (13),

RACE EIGHT

A winner here on Tues when using the passing lane to score in a slick closing 800m, TWITTER BROMAC (1) comes up with the options once again. Working home strongly to grab the bronze 3 starts back, she had too much closing speed here mid-week. Back to mares only she can repeat.

COMIGAL (5) caught the eye last start when charging home in the closing stages after snagging back from gate 7 to find position. That followed a sound effort from gate 12 when easing down to the pegs for the short-cuts behind SOLE AMBITION. Back to her own sex, she is right in the fight here.

BEACH GODDESS (8) was stranded looking for position last start when not too far away in her 1st look at headquarters. Sweating on the 1 holding the front here, she will be coiled and ready to strike.

JUST DEAL IT (9) closed out in good order last start when chasing home to be mid-field behind the in-form HARD TO HEAR. 7m away from CHERRYS THE BEST the start prior, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TWITTER BROMAC (1), COMIGAL (5), BEACH GODDESS (8), JUST DEAL IT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TWITTER BROMAC (1) to win

RACE NINE

COBBLER LANE (10) took on the 2138m here on Tues from gate 12 where he was wide and snagging back to settle at the rear. Looking for runs in traffic, he was still near last at the home turn and was sound to the line when 10m from the winner. This is a little tougher, but at value his worth a shot.

CONDAFEW (8) just continues to find ways to look good in defeat, his latest run when probing for gaps that never arrived and although finishing last, he never had a crack at them. Charging home to get within a neck of the winner 2 starts back at Redcliffe, he will be probing for the runs here.

LUCKY UNLUCKY (7) doesn’t have any favours from the wide gate, but should find this easier.  Beaten a head last start after doing it tough in the breeze, can throw down a strong challenge here.

CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (3) will strip fitter from her latest start when 2nd up from a break. A tidy 2nd to WITH THE BAND when resuming, she wasn’t suited at the 2138m last time. She can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: COBBLER LANE (10), CONDAFEW (8), LUCKY UNLUCKY (7), CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (3)
SUGGESTED BET: COBBLER LANE (10) each-way

RACE TEN

Working his way back into form and finding his place in the claiming ranks, SECRET JACK (3) shoots for the hat-trick. Packing too many guns in the breeze over the mile 2 starts back, he was never in danger last start when leading throughout. Pressing forward again, he looks the one to beat.

MAKE MINE JOE (5) didn’t have much go his way last start at Redcliffe from gate 10 when trying to work into the contest in the latter stages. His run to grab the bronze here 3 starts back was a smart effort and with the small field in his favour can be making a late play up the stretch.

SPIKE BROMAC (1) backs up from Tues where he was locked away from inside the 2nd line and finished down the line. Better suited at the mile, he can settle close enough to finish on the podium.

SELECTIONS: SECRET JACK (3), MAKE MINE JOE (5), SPIKE BROMAC (1), DIVAS DELIGHT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SECRET JACK (3) to win

RACE ELEVEN

NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) looks to be well placed under the conditions of this race and gets his chance to bounce back to winning form. 6m in arrears of the winner QUEITLY SPOKEN under mobile conditions last start, he struck trouble the start prior. From 10m, he looks to get every chance.

JEDDY R YA READY (2) is still looking for open space from his race on Tues where he had no luck at all and was probing for space that never opened. Working home nicely to grab the bronze here 2 starts back when 6m behind REIGN ON ME, he can make the most of the front tape in this.

REIGN ON ME (5) was well below her best last start when fading out badly. That had followed a smart win when using the passing lane and forgiven for last start can be sharper here.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (9) made the most of the mobile conditions last start when firing out to take control over the 2138m and cruising home to a 5m victory. The 50m hurts, but she will try all day.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (6), JEDDY R YA READY (2), REIGN ON ME (5), QUIETLY SPOKEN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) to win
