RACE TWO

Stepping out in Qld for the 1st time since arriving from the Shaky Isles FLO RYDA (1) will be 1st up since January 24th without a public trial. Placed 3rd in both career starts on the North Island, his latest start at Auckland was a nice effort after settling in the running line, he closed out sharply to be under 1m from the winner over the 2200m. He can make a winning start in this line-up.

LEFT A HURRIKANE (9) was sent to the post as fav last start over the 2138m from gate 4. Sent to the forward, he was able to take control and once in front looked to have the race in the bag until he jumped it off in the stretch. Holding on for 3rd, he has the 2nd row to overcome here but can seek redemption.

CHANCELESS CENTURY (6) was buried in the run last start from inside the 2nd line and was keen in transit once covered. Only beaten a neck behind the in-form KYRONTA 2 starts back, he has claims.

NEWMERELLA MOLLY (2) is a query runner here, lining up for career start number 6, after all 5 starts to date have been at Marburg. A smart winner of 3 of those, she resumes from a break with her preparatory trial back on January 28, in a trial that has proved a solid form reference.

SELECTIONS: FLO RYDA (1), LEFT A HURRIKANE (9), CHANCELESS CENTURY (6), NEWMERELLA MOLLY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FLO RYDA (1) to win

RACE THREE

IS SOMETHINGBURNING (6) should take some benefit from her latest start when she was able to begin relative safely and was able to chase home from back in the field for the bronze behind MELPARK MAGIC. Moving to the front here is a big plus and provided she steps, this is within reach.

SKYLINE (3) didn’t have things go his way in the McNeil final and after striking some trouble in the run and doing some work, couldn’t finish it off. Starting from a 50m tape on Friday over the 2138m, he chased strongly and powered home to a smart win off a 50m tape. The front-line suits here.

WEE MAN TROUBLE (10) was down the line last start after chasing hard from a 40m impost over 2318m behind MELPARK MAGIC. The rise to the 2647m trip suits and with added fitness has claims.

DOWN UNDER RORS (4) made an early error last start in the McNeil Final and angled to the pegs for some luck was out of play. That followed successive placings and he can be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (6), SKYLINE (3), WEE MAN TROUBLE (10), DOWN UNDER RORS (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

REIGN ON ME (9)
started from 10m last start and settling back in the pack worked home in good order when beaten by the handicap behind JUSTABITNOISY. The start prior she beat herself when too keen in the run which had followed a tidy win over the long trip. From the 10m she can arrive against these.

MELPARK MAGIC (7) was rewarded for his consistency last start when grinding out a tough win in the breeze after starting from 10m. That had followed 4 successive placings, including a 3rd in the McNeil Final behind MAJESTIC SIMON. With manners from the front tape, he is in the mix here.

GARLAND GREENE (12) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins at both the longer 2647 and the middle trip he takes on here. Powering home to a smart 9m win last start, he is right in the fight.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (13) was quickly into stride and had made light work of a 40m impost last start and was best of the chasers behind GARLAND GREENE to hold the silver. He is in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: REIGN ON ME (9), MELPARK MAGIC (7), GARLAND GREENE (12), MAYBETOTHEMAX (13)
SUGGESTED BET: REIGN ON ME (9) to win

RACE FIVE

AZTEC BROMAC (7) will take further benefit from his run on Sat night when 2nd up from a spell. His return run had merit when eased back from gate 5 and then attacking the line late when 6m from SMOOTH SHOWGIRL. Beaten the same margin on Sat night behind the same mare, he should find this easier and can arrive despite the gate.

MUCH BETTOR (1) took on the lamp lighting duties last start from gate 2 and at the cost of a 27.3 opening panel, didn’t have any ammunition left in the stretch. Arriving for a qualifying victory the start prior, he has been freshened and with the options from the gate should be in a perfect position.

MACEY JAYDE (5) backs up from Sat night when only 3m from the winner INNOCENT CROCKER. Doing all the work in the run it was a brave effort and from this gate, she can fire the 1st shot.

CHERRYS THE BEST (2) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when starting from the 2nd line, she just couldn’t work into it late behind JAMES DEAN. With the better alley, she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: AZTEC BROMAC (7), MUCH BETTOR (1), MACEY JAYDE (5), CHERRYS THE BEST (2)
SUGGESTED BET: AZTEC BROMAC (7) to win

RACE SIX

B MAC C (1) is in superb touch and lines up here with wins in 4 of his past 5, with the other result a close-up 2nd. Last start he did it the tough way when facing the breeze over the 2138m and grinding out a 3m victory. Showing versatility in his performances, he can secure an easy trip to add another victory.

OUR SEQUEL (3) settled in the running line last start from gate 6 and was doing his best work in the closing stages when withing a neck of the winner. Not far away in a qualifier 2 starts back at his 1st run back in Qld, he finds the right type of conditions here and can throw down the challenge.

BUMPER (8) settled in a perfect 1x1 trail when taking on a qualifier 2 starts back and arrived to claim the prize. Taking on the one lap Trot Rods at Redcliffe last start, he chased hard from back in the pack for 2nd to LIFES BLACK. With the options as the lone 2nd line runner, he is in the mix.

ETERNAL PROMISE (2) shoots for the hat-trick after wins at the 2138m and then last start over the mile. Making the most of gate 1 to lead throughout last start, she can settle handy and has claims.

SELECTIONS: B MAC C (1), OUR SEQUEL (3), BUMPER (8) ETERNAL PROMISE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

He is yet to find victory this season but facing some tough gates, REDS GOOD TO GO (4) looks to have struck the right conditions this time. Runner-up at his past 2 in succession, he chased from back in the pack to be 3m from LORD DIGBY last start. That followed a top effort behind the smart MUMMYS BOY. This looks his chance to capitalise.

MISTER COLE (10) made the most of a good gate here 2 starts back when sent straight to the front over the mile and once in control was able to back off the tempo before sprinting sharply up the stretch to claim the prize. A beaten red figure fav last start, he has been kept fresh and can bounce back.

GETINANHANGON (8) will resume from a break and has featured in a stable switch, lining up for the Graham Dwyer barn. With a handy trial to prepare for the return, he stays under notice here.

STORM GILBERT (5) capitalised on an improved gate over the Redcliffe 2040m trip 2 starts back when leading throughout. Hitting the line nicely last start after easing from gate 6, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: REDS GOOD TO GO (4), MISTER COLE (10), GETINANHANGON (8), STORM GILBERT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: REDS GOOD TO GO (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

MISS MONEYBAGS (4) will take good benefit from her latest outing when 1st up from a break over the 2138m. Snagged back early, she was wide off the track when working home in good order. Not far away from tough gates, she has been closer than gate 6 just once in her past 10 and that was for a Redcliffe victory. This is within reach.

CAUTIVAR (8) will strip fitter from his latest outing when 1st up from a break and making his Qld debut. Finding the front form gate 7 over the 2138m, he was gunned down in the closing stages. With the added fitness and an easier trip from this gate, he can be probing for gaps.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (7) has the tough gate to negotiate, yet should find this a shade easier than recent outings. He made a mess of things 2 starts back that saw him banished from the draw and with even luck he can chime in.

KYRONTA (5) has found form and shoots for a hat-trick after successive wins at both the mile and middle trip. Releasing and opting for the trail, he was too slippery in the stretch last start and is in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: MISS MONEYBAGS (4), CAUTIVAR (8), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (7), KYRONTA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS MONEYBAGS (4) to win
