RACE TWO

OUR DELIGHT (1) took on a mares qualifier last start over the 2138m and just couldn’t go with them in the stretch, fading in the closing stages. Back in the pack the start prior when down the line behind WHITEHAVEN LASS, her run here 3 back was a nice effort when beaten a head. From the gate, she has the options and looks to get her chance.

CONDAFEW (6) was locked away on the pegs over the AP sprint trip on Sat night and was strong to the line in grabbing the silver behind FELINFORARAINBOW. Luckless the start prior in a qualifier, he doesn’t have any favours from this alley, but with any luck at all, can make a challenge in this line-up.

GOES BOOM (9) is yet to miss a cheque here on the triangle with 2 wins and 2 minors in 4 outings. Arriving in time for a tidy win here 2 starts back, he was best of the chasers behind the big winner IFOUNDTHEBEACH last start. Look for him late again here.

TRUNKEY DIGGER (8) has been the runner-up in 3 of her past 4 starts, the latest when charging home from a long way back after retreating from gate 6 to find position. She is in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: OUR DELIGHT (1), CONDAFEW (6), GOES BOOM (9), TRUNKEY DIGGER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR DELIGHT (1) to win

RACE THREE

It might be a while since he last tasted victory, but the veteran WEASEL (2) might just have found the right conditions to pinch a victory. Angled to the running line from inside the 2nd line last start, he was sound to the line for the silver behind SUKI DAYO. He did his share of work 2 starts back and from this gate is worth a chance in an open contest.

PATCHWORK JET (7)
will need a slice of luck from this gate, but if he can sight open space with track to play with, he can issue the challenge. In the money at his past 7 in succession, he found the line nicely for the bronze last start, which followed a narrow defeat when beaten a head. He will be probing.

GHOST GUM (3) was taken off the gate last start at Tamworth from gate 5 and then didn’t really get a clear shot late when only 9m in arrears. He is going better than his past 3 numbers may show and he is right in the fight.

WILD ABOUT TOWN (9) led them up last start over the 2040m when fading in the stretch to be 11m from the winner as a beaten fav. Tough in the breeze the start prior, he has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: WEASEL (2), PATCHWORK JET (7), GHOST GUM (3), WILD ABOUT TOWN (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

AMAYA BECOMES (6)
found perfect conditions here last start scoring a comfortable win from gate 4. Taking control, she walked them early and turning it into a last panel scamper, easily held an 8m margin. This will be a harder proposition from the gate, but her class can see her through.

MO JARNEY (2) set the tempo here 2 starts back over the sprint trip against stronger opponents when fading late to be 9m in arrears of the winner GOES BOOM. Taken off the arm from gate 5 last start, he was sound late and from the improved alley here, can fire the 1st shot.

ZARAS HEAVEN (8) rolled to the breeze last start and did some work in the run when 5m in arrears of the winner JOVIAL JULIE. A smart all the way winner 2 starts back, she has podium claims here.

BARBOO (1) sat in the pocket trail over the AP mile 2 starts back and couldn’t match it with them when the sprint went on. His run last start had merit and from the ace here, can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: AMAYA BECOMES (6), MO JARNEY (2), ZARAS HEAVEN (8), BARBOO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: AMAYA BECOMES (6) to win

RACE FIVE

MONTANA EXPRESS (10) retreated from gate 6 last start and after settling near the rear was hitting the line in good style to be within 2.5m of the winner. A tidy 2nd from gate 6 here 3 starts back, there looks to be some early speed here and with the tempo on, can look to over-power them in this.

GIGANTIC JASPER (1) has placed at his past 3 in succession, with each of those when not in his preferred leading role. Doing some early work prior to receiving cover last start, he was fighting gamely when 2m in arrears over the 2040m. Back to the mile from this gate, he is in the fight.

STUDLEIGH WILL (5) was given time to balance up before pressing forward to the breeze last start over the 2040m. Grinding it out, he claimed a 2m victory and despite the gate can feature again.

IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (6) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts, the latest when wide for a long way and doing plenty of work to be within a head of the winner. She is in the mix despite the gate.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (10), GIGANTIC JASPER (1), STUDLEIGH WILL (5), IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA EXPRESS (10) to win

RACE SIX

The 1st of the Trot Rods Series take place here, a 947m scamper or basically once around the triangle. LIFES BLACK (2) eased back from gate 5 last start over the AP mile and was looking for space that didn’t quite arrive when only 7m in arrears. From this gate he can look to control from either the front or the breeze and fight the off.

BUMPER (5) comes into this after claiming a smart qualifying victory on Sat night. Finding the 1x1 in transit, he finished over the top to claim a 1.5m margin. That win was getting closer after placing in 3 of his previous 4 starts and doing no work here can look to sail over the top in the stretch.

JOVIAL JULIE (4) led them up here 2 starts back when starting in red figures and was nabbed on the line when a head in arrears of FIRE AND ICE. Again, starting an odds-on elect from the pole last start, she was able to fight them off in the stretch to claim the prize. She can go close again here.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (2), BUMPER (5), JOVIAL JULIE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (2) to win

v

RACE SEVEN

With 247 combined starts for the 10 runners without victory in this maiden, MISTER FAHRENHEIT (1) by virtue of the gate might be the one to secure his moment of glory. Taking on a stronger event at AP last start, he wasn’t too far away and was only grabbed on the line here 2 starts back behind ROWDYS ACE. With speed off the arm, he gets his chance.

ABBEY DIADEMA (7) will take benefit from her latest start when returning from a spell. Retreating from gate 5 over the 1780m trip, she was back in the pack and was sound to the line when mid-field to NESTERS HILL. A tidy 3rd 2 starts back in her last run for her campaign, the economical run suits.

LANOCH BOY (2) should appreciate the improved alley after facing tricky draws in recent starts. Locked away last start from inside the 2nd line, he struck trouble 2 starts back and can be sharper here.

DANCING IN MANOLOS (10) doesn’t receive many favours from this alley but has been able to place in 3 of her past 4 outings. 3rd last start at Tamworth, with the right trip she can chime in late in this.

SELECTIONS: MISTER FAHRENHEIT (1), ABBEY DIADEMA (7), LANOCH BOY (2), DANCING IN MANOLOS (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER FAHRENHEIT (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

SUKI DAYO (9) found conditions to suit last start when scoring a smart win from gate 6. Eased back in the early stages, it wasn’t the clearest of passages she received yet she proved too strong in cruising home to an 11m victory. The gate is a bit sticky, but she should have the class to prevail.

ELSIES GIRL (1) is still searching for a maiden breaking victory after placings in 2 of her past 4 starts. Eased back from gate 4 last start, she worked home nicely when nabbed late for the bronze behind the big winner TULHURST KATE but also held an 18m margin over 4th placing. The gate is a big plus.

STARZZZ ON HIGH (3) steps out for trainer Mark McNee for the 1st time having broken her maiden tag 2 runs back when able to lead throughout. Not suited in a stronger race last start, she has claims.

BELLA BLONDIE (7) will take benefit from her latest start when 1st up for the term. Down the line in a much stronger mares race claimed by TIMELESS APPEAL, she will be probing for runs here.

SELECTIONS: SUKI DAYO (9), ELSIES GIRL (1), STARZZZ ON HIGH (3), BELLA BLONDIE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SUKI DAYO (9) to win
