RACE TWO

SCOTCH EN ICE (1) lands his best gate for some time and can look to capitalise on his opportunity. Easing to the running line from the five-hole last start, he was best of the chasers to grab the silver as the smart DANCE IN THE SUN controlled it out in front. With the options, he looks hard to hold out.

FAIRIESDELIGHT (3) joins the Chantal Turpin barn, arriving from South Australia with handy form that includes a win 3 starts back. Trialling here over the mile to prepare, it was a smart trial when content to cut the breeze early before pressing on to take control and cruise home nicely. This is within reach 1st up.

FEEL THE THUNDER (4) had a shot in the early stages last start but was repelled and after securing running line cover, was only 4m away in holding 2nd. Game in the breeze the start prior, he is racing well and can feature with the right trip.

MAGGIE (9) was asked to roll the sleeves and do the work first over last start and was up for the challenge when still grinding away to claim a 4m 3rd behind RECIPE FOR DREAMING. She will not be far away again here.

SELECTIONS: SCOTCH EN ICE (1), FAIRIESDELIGHT (3), FEEL THE THUNDER (4), MAGGIE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SCOTCH EN ICE (1) to win

RACE THREE

LITTLELIONELJAMES (4)
has slick early moves off the arm and from this alley can look to dart across. Looking to take them all the way here 2 starts back, he kept the speed on and was only nabbed in the closing stages as KIAMASROSIE took the prize. Within 4m of the winner last start, he will be gripping on here.

NESTERS HILL (1) found the spot behind the leader last start at Marburg from gate 4 after easing across and then sliding up the pegs as it was keen and willing up front. Needing space sooner than it arrived, it was a tidy effort and with early speed will have available options to challenge.

CHANCELESS CENTURY (9) eased to secure position after starting from gate 6 last time out and was trying to make ground in the closing stages when 6m from the winner. Probing for openings the start prior, he can chime in here.

BILLBOARD BONNIE (2) returns from a break without the benefit of a public trial. Campaigning predominantly at Redcliffe last prep, she can settle close enough to the action to be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: LITTLELIONELJAMES (4), NESTERS HILL (1), CHANCELESS CENTURY (9), BILLBOARD BONNIE (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

KIAMASROSIE (1) was a winner here 3 starts back when finishing over the top of them in the closing stages to claim a tidy win. Pressing forward at her next start, she took control and was fighting hard when 3m in arrears of the winner COPPERFIELD. From the gate with the options, she gets her chance.

ISLAS JOY (3) joins the Darrel Graham yard, arriving from NSW with 4 wins to his name. Taken to the trials at Marburg to open the pipes, he put in a smart hit out when pressing to the front and then keeping the power on throughout in impressive fashion. He looms large at his maiden Qld outing.

GOPATI (4) had the speed to lead from the ace last start over the 2138m and after walking through the first 1200m, increased the tempo to hold on for a narrow victory. With added experience and confidence, he can be thereabouts again here.

PLATINUM PROMISE (8) was searching for a hat-trick of victories last start and to remain undefeated in Qld when holding on for a game 3rd. Taking his first look at The Creek after all 3 have been at Redcliffe, he can be joining in late.

SELECTIONS: KIAMASROSIE (1), ISLAS JOY (3), GOPATI (4), PLATINUM PROMISE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-8

RACE FIVE

KETTERING GIRL (4)
was buried away on the pegs here 2 starts back and when the gaps arrived was hitting the line in nice order to be just a half-neck off the winner. Still searching for a way clear from her latest outing when never sighting a gap, she looks to have found the right conditions to strike.

BOPPIN THE BLUES (3) will take benefit from his last start when returning from a spell. Spending some early pennies when taking a shot over the mile, he had no coins left to finish his trip and trailed the field home. A winner at his last start prior to being sent for a break, he can get forward here to challenge.

SHEZALUCKYLADY (1) was beaten by gate 5 at Marburg last start and after retreating early had too big a task to make ground. With the improved gate for this assignment, she can feature.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (10) was not suited last start at Marburg when starting from the 2nd line and was just too far back with the speed dictated in front. The gate is not ideal again, but he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: KETTERING GIRL (4), BOPPIN THE BLUES (3), SHEZALUCKYLADY (1), SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (10)
SUGGESTED BET: KETTERING GIRL (4) to win

RACE SIX

OHOKA JIMMY (2)
was sent to the post as fav last start when looking to complete a hat-trick of victories. Eased from gate 6 to secure position, he was at the tail when closing out late but only able to be 8m in arrears of the winner. A passing lane winner 2 starts back, the gate aids his chances in taking this.

THE HERVEY BAY (5) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when scoring a strong victory over the 2138m. Sent to the breeze in that contest, he was forced to grind it out and was up to the task in strong time. Placed in 2 runs prior when off the 2nd line in each, he can challenge against these.

SWEET AS (1) has been catching the eye for some time with her finishing speed, but just cannot seem to land a winning blow. The gate gives her every chance here to secure the ideal trip and saved for the snipers shot can feature.

DAPPER (4) should appreciate the improved gate after his barrier manners have forced him to wide gates in recent outings. Hitting the line soundly last start from gate 10, he was game when cutting the breeze and holding 3rd the start prior.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA JIMMY (2), THE HERVEY BAY (5), SWEET AS (1), DAPPER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA JIMMY (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

Just the front line here will give the early speed battle a more tactical aspect with the battle for the lamp lighting duties looking keen. ROYAL OBSESSION (2) has the gate to tuck in behind and stay out of that battle and has good closing power when saved. A smart winner from gate 5 here 4 runs back, he was working home strongly last start when it was only a sprint home. He can take this.

STINGER LINDENNY (5) eased from gate 7 last start to find position and from a rearward position was trying to make late metres when 4m from the winner BETTATHANIDEAL. Eased from gate 6 the start prior, he has early speed and taking a shot here might just have the speed to lead.

SAVING MAJOR PERCY (4) heads to town after a tough run at his Qld debut when asked to face the breeze over the Redcliffe sprint trip. In for the fight when only a neck shy of the winner, he can feature in this.

IMFEELINGIT (3) will take some benefit from his race return last start following a break that also featured a transfer to the Thurlow barn. Down the line, he can be an improver in this.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL OBSESSION (2), STINGER LINDENNY (5), SAVING MAJOR PERCY (4), IMFEELINGIT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL OBSESSION (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

BONDI SHAKE (7)
has no favours from out on the wing, but he has been clashing against stronger opponents than he meets for this assignment in recent outings. With the perfect trip behind the speed 2 runs back, he made the closing shot a winner and then held 3rd behind the smart filly DANCE IN THE SUN last start. He can overcome the alley impediment.

HURRIKANE HOUR (8) pressed on from gate 5 last start at Redcliffe to work to the front and once in control was able to see it out in scoring an easy 5m victory. That had followed a 2nd behind LILLIES when required to work in the run and with 2nd line options here can make a challenge.

BIG GEM MONTANA (3) might appreciate these conditions a little more than what he has faced in recent starts, the latest when inside the 2nd line at Marburg. Runner-up at Redcliffe 2 starts back, he is a podium hope.

ONLYSBEST (6) returns to start his 3YO season after a last start victory over the AP mile back in December. A winner at 4 of his 8 starts as a 2YO, the gate does him no favours here 1st up.

SELECTIONS: BONDI SHAKE (7), HURRIKANE HOUR (8), BIG GEM MONTANA (3), ONLYSBEST (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BONDI SHAKE (7) to win

RACE NINE

CRAZY BEN (3)
has been a source of frustration since arriving in Qld but last start he was able to put it all together and land an overdue victory. Off the back of a tidy trial after being banished there by the stewards, he stepped cleanly, pressed to the lead, and held on at Marburg. With some confidence he can look to take advantage of the front tape.

KYVALLEY TINMAN (9) made an error last time out on the tight track at Marburg which had followed a tidy 3rd around Redcliffe. That was when starting from the 10m impost and chasing hard as KAPAI controlled the speed out in front and scooted clear to score. Trotting cleanly, he can challenge.

HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (8) should appreciate a return to the grade after tackling the Jim McNeil Heats at her 2 runs since returning from a let-up. A winner at her 1st 3 starts, the 30m will still make it tricky.

MAJESTIC SPEED (1) steps out in Qld for the 1st time for trainer Shawn Grimsey, arriving from NSW as a maiden after 42 attempts. A beaten fav at Menangle 4 runs back when 3rd, she is a place hope.

SELECTIONS: CRAZY BEN (3), KYVALLEY TINMAN (9), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (8), MAJESTIC SPEED (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
