RACE TWO

MACHEASY (2) found the tempo too slick last start after settling in a handy position couldn’t go on with it. His run the start prior was a tidy effort from back in the pack when mid-field behind ROCK WITH SAM and with the lead looking on offer he can find the pegs and be gripping on late.

LOCHINVER (6) makes his Qld debut for the Darrel Graham barn and will also be resuming from a spell without a public trial. Down the line last start behind the flying COURTSINSESSION, he has taken on some handy performers in recent outings and if forward enough can challenge here.

OUTLAW FELLA (9) pressed forward to take control from the front here 5 starts back and held on to score a strong win at the mile. Without much luck since, he can press through early and has claims.

COURAGEOUS LEO (11) did his share of early work last start and was in for the fight when not far behind LINCOLN ROAD in a slippery mile. The gate hurts but he won’t be far from them.

SELECTIONS: MACHEASY (2), LOCHINVER (6), OUTLAW FELLA (9), COURAGEOUS LEO (11)
SUGGESTED BET: MACHEASY (2) to win

RACE THREE

ASHKII (2) was a stylish winner at his AP debut last time out when sent to the front from gate 3 and keeping the power on was able to claim a 4m victory, running home some nice closing panels. With the benefit of that hit-out, he can light the lamps here and look for back-to-back success.

OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (8) has only started twice in Qld with those runs one month apart and he lines up here with another month break since his last appearance. Too far back after retreating from gate 7 last start, his trial here prior to that was a sharp run. Sighting space he can charge late.

RAYS CHOICE (3) rolled forward from gate 6 and was doing his share of early work when fading late behind TULHURST ACE. His run behind CASTALONG SHADOW prior was solid and he has claims.

SUR LE FEU (5) was buried away on the pegs here on Tues over the 2138m trip and never really had a decent closing shot. He caught the eye the start prior and with an improved gate he can feature.

SELECTIONS: ASHKII (2), OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (8), RAYS CHOICE (3), SUR LE FEU (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SUR LE FEU (5) to place

RACE FOUR

LINCOLN ROAD (12)
is afforded no favours from this gate, however he has been a revelation since arriving in Qld and scored 8 wins and 4 minors in 17 attempts here on the track. He set himself a new mile benchmark last start when leading throughout in 1.53.1 and with even luck can arrive.

THE FAITHFUL (1) has been racing without a great deal of luck since arriving in Qld after meeting with some wide gates that have forced him to retreat and hope for luck that hasn’t arrived. With the benefit of the ace he will have the options here and gets his chance to cash-in.

THE SHADY ONE (10) was a smart winner at Marburg 3 starts back and then chased gamely for the silver in the final of that Series. Packing too many guns in the finish last start, he will be charging.

SIR JULIAN (8) is never far from the action and runs an honest race every time he steps out. Running into COLT THIRTY ONE at his past 2 starts, he will be probing for the gaps here.

SELECTIONS: LINCOLN ROAD (12), THE FAITHFUL (1), THE SHADY ONE (10), SIR JULIAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE FAITHFUL (1) each-way

RACE FIVE

OUR BONDI BEACH (1) was a winner here 4 starts back when buried away in the run he was able to charge along the inside when the gap arrived to claim a smart win. Drawn wide off the track in 3 starts since, he can make the most of the improved gate and with options, gets every chance.

GOTTA GOOD REASON (5) capitalised from gate 1 over the 2138m trip here 2 starts back when able to lead throughout for a comfortable victory when never in danger. Pressing ahead to find the front last start from gate 6, he faded late. The gate makes it tricky but he can challenge in this line-up.

BIG BRUCE (4) claimed 2nd on protest last start after being 3rd across the line. He will take good benefit from the run after having his starts spaced and with even luck he is in the mix here.

CLARRY (12) was sent to the breeze last start from gate 6 and forced to work in the run when fading after a slick tempo was set by the leader and winner PINUP BOY. Despite the tough alley he can place.

SELECTIONS: OUR BONDI BEACH (1), GOTTA GOOD REASON (5), BIG BRUCE (4), CLARRY (12)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR BONDI BEACH (1) to win

RACE SIX

TULHURST ACE (7)
made the most of the good alley here last start when rolling forward to take control and once in front was able to control the tempo and open his Qld account. That followed a tough run in the breeze and despite the wide gate, he can look for back-to-back success.

SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (3) took on a 2nd division Band 5 here last start and was forced to work in the breeze when finishing 5m from the winner. He was on the plain side 2 runs back when he looked to have found his race and from the good gate here can look for a sharper effort.

CASINO GRIN (6) faces a tough gate but is racing better than some of his opponents in this. Making a closing play up the passing lane last start he was only a head away from LINCOLN ROAD and has hopes here.

PROFICIENT (1) was strong from the breeze at Redcliffe 2 starts back and then last start chased hard for the bronze behind PINUP BOY. With a cosy run from the gate he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: TULHURST ACE (7), SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (3), CASINO GRIN (6), PROFICIENT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-6-7

RACE SEVEN

INNOCENT CROCKER (2) found the 1x1 trail from gate 10 last start and with the perfect run in transit finished over the top when running away from them to post an 8m victory. Chasing hard when wide off the track 2 starts back, she has good speed out of the machine and can look to dictate here.

RED CHARMER (7) was forced to hang tough in the breeze last start and with the winner carving it out in front, she faded late under the strong mile. Finishing over the top in the 4YO mares Triad final the start prior, the gate does her no favours here, but she will be in for the fight.

IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (4) is racing well without reaping the rewards for her efforts. Buried in the run last start her closing 800m was in sub 55 when chasing behind LINCOLN ROAD. With luck she can feature.

DRIVE THE DREAM (1) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when settling in the pocket trail and making the closing shot a winning one. With a similar trip here, she can have bullets to fire.

SELECTIONS: INNOCENT CROCKER (2), RED CHARMER (7), IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (4), DRIVE THE DREAM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: INNOCENT CROCKER (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

JUSTARUMOUR (3)
steps out for Jack Butler for the 1st time and was last seen at Newcastle when grabbed in the latter stages when leading over the 2030m trip. A winner from gate 1 at Newcastle 8 starts back, he has been no closer than gate 7 since and with early speed can cash-in 1st up.

LIVING GRAND (1) rolled forward from gate 6 last start and was forced to roll the sleeves and work in the breeze. In a slick Redcliffe 1780m, the pressure told and he wilted in the closing stages. A tidy 3rd 2 starts back, he can hustle early to get the cosy trip and look to take a closing shot.

ROCKNROLL MUSIC (8) has been deserted by the barrier gods of late, starting from gate 6 his past 2 and gate 12 the 2 prior to that. Benefitting from a soft run in transit here, he can offer late.

CHARLYSE (5) has been competing in the mares qualifiers in recent outings and been charging home in the latter stages each time. Luckless 2 back when the gaps didn’t arrive, she has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: JUSTARUMOUR (3), LIVING GRAND (1), ROCKNROLL MUSIC (8), CHARLYSE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTARUMOUR (3) to win

RACE NINE

IVANOV (1)
made an uncharacteristic error last start which ended his hopes. The start prior he took the trail over the longer 2647m trip when 6m from the winner EMPIRE BAY. The 2138m his is best trip, has brilliant stand manners and with limited pressure in the run, this looks his opportunity.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (9) will strip fitter from his latest outing when returning from a break. Snagged back over the mobile marathon from gate 7, his closing fractions are impressive reading as he was working home strongly to grab 4th. A winner 4 starts back from the tapes, he will be in the fight.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) started from a 50m tape last start against the lower assessed trotters and was strong in the run when beaten 2m. This is harder but he can make the rise.

JETER (2) is normally a safe performer from the tapes and can look to dart in for the cheap run. From the pocket trail he was 1m from the winner last start in easier company but can feature again here.

SELECTIONS: IVANOV (1), MAYBETOTHEMAX (9), NORTHERN MUSCLE (6), JETER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: IVANOV (1) to win

RACE TEN

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1)
raced against her normal pattern when forced to work in the breeze over the mile and there was plenty of merit in the run when fighting hard for 2nd behind LILAC FLASH in a sizzling 1.51.9 mile. Her closing sectionals were again strong last start and she can capitalise here.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (6) speared out and created the space to drop in for the trail last week behind WATCH PULP FICTION. Following him all the way he just couldn’t bridge the deficit when finishing 1m in arrears. The week prior he finished over the top and either forward or back he is a threat.

MANDY KRIDEN (2) again ran home a sub 27 closing 400m when finishing in 3rd behind WATCH PULP FICTION. Luckless the week prior when running into dead-ends, if she can see space, she will be charging home.

SELECTIONS: SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1), GLENFERRIE HOOD (6), MANDY KRIDEN (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
