RACE TWO

CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (4) makes his Qld debut for Trent Dawson as he looks to recapture some of his 2YO and 3YO form. Only grabbed in the closing stages after lighting the lamps over the 1730m at Bathurst 2 starts back, he struck trouble last start. He strikes a winnable race 1st up.

BAMBOLE NERE (3) started from the 2nd line last start and was wide when trying to make ground over the 2138m trip. The start prior he found the line in good order over the mile when 3rd behind GRIZZLY MONTANA and returning to the front line will be in the mix.

WEASEL (2) wasn’t entirely suited from the 2nd line over the AP 2138m last start and never really worked into the contest. With the improved gate following the ODM removal, he has claims.

ARTS PEREGRINE (7) was wide last start at Marburg and closed out in good order when claiming the silver behind FLYING WINGARD. He will get the cosy trip here and can be looking to sprint late.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (4), BAMBOLE NERE (3), WEASEL (2), ARTS PEREGRINE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (4) to win

RACE THREE

MONTANA CHIEF (4) will strip fitter following his latest start when resuming from a break. Starting from gate 4 over the 2138m trip he was back in the pack when grabbing 3rd behind the handy looking CLASSIE AMERICAN. This appears slightly easier than recent outings and he can arrive.

FLYING WINGARD (9) showed that the return to the mobile start was all he needed when overcoming a tough 2nd line gate to claim a stylish Marburg victory. With a strong closing 800m wide off the track, he will take good benefit as he gains more match fitness and is a big threat here.

DASHING HANNAH (1) was 1st up from a spell and since arriving in Qld when taking them all the way from gate 4 last start. That was some good improvement after she lost her way with some plain performances around the Tamworth area. With added fitness and the gate, she gets her chance.

ELZBOY (5) has a tricky gate to negotiate, however does move to the front after starting from the 2nd line his past 2. A good AP winner 3 starts back, he can be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA CHIEF (4), FLYING WINGARD (9), DASHING HANNAH (1), ELZBOY (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

ELMS CREEK (2)
was in search of a hat-trick last start when landing the 2nd line over the mile. Settling back in the pack, TRAIN WRECK controlled the race from the front with nothing making any ground. He took them all the way over the AP 2138m 2 starts back and looks set to dictate here.

MISTER BLACKJACK (1) was snagged back from gate 6 last start in a qualifier and didn’t have the cleanest run in transit when finishing down the line. The start prior he did some early work before fading late behind the in-form TULHURST ACE. With a cosy trip he will be coiled and ready to strike.

EARL JUJON (8) made the most of the pocket trail last start and with the cosy trip was angled to open road and finished best to score. He should find a good position from this gate and has claims.

HARD TO HEAR (4) was working home wide off the track over the AP mile last start when claiming the silver as the fav behind OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD. With the right trip he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: ELMS CREEK (2), MISTER BLACKJACK (1), EARL JUJON (8), HARD TO HEAR (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ELMS CREEK (2) to win

RACE FIVE

RAGING INFERNO (1) makes his Qld debut for Narissa McMullen and will be 1st up since late February. Still a maiden after, he has shown good gate speed and 5 back as only grabbed late at Melton when leading. Trialling in good order to prepare, he strikes a winnable assignment 1st up.

SUPREME BANNER (9) is on the back-up from Wed night where he was starting from this same gate in a similar type race. His run on Wed was his Aus debut for the Dixon stable and his 1st race start in over 18 months. He should take benefit from the hit-out and again stays under notice.

CALL ME TRISH (7) added another 2nd placing to her tally last start to make it 6 races in succession that she has finished in the money. She will need to hustle early to protect the pegs, but can feature.

COBALT BLUES (2) settled in the pocket trail from gate 3 at AP 2 starts back and used the passing lane to grab the silver and the 1st placing of his career. From the good alley he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: RAGING INFERNO (1), SUPREME BANNER (9), CALL ME TRISH (7), COBALT BLUES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: RAGING INFERNO (1) to win

RACE SIX

OUR DELIGHT (5)
was forced to work in the run 2 starts back over the mile and dug in for the fight when 3m in arears of the winner MY ULTIMATE MAJOR in taking the bronze. Last start over the middle-distance trip she powered home from the front to score and looks the one to beat here.

BOULDER CITY (6) made a mess of the start last time out in the Triad Final and was banished to the outside draw. Finishing down the line behind FIRST STRING in that final, his previous form had been strong with solid placings behind SMART AS CAMM BE and HIPSTAR the 2 starts prior. He can atone.

MAJOR SEASCAPE (4) will take further benefit from his latest start when 3rd up since returning from a break. His past 2 have been from wide gates in stronger races and with even luck can chime in.

ZED EXPRESS (7) returned from a break with successive placings with both runs tidy efforts from tricky gates. Forced to work hard last start, he faded late and with a cheaper run here can place.

SELECTIONS: OUR DELIGHT (5), BOULDER CITY (6), MAJOR SEASCAPE (4), ZED EXPRESS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR DELIGHT (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

HASHTAG (5) has placed in 2 of 3 appearances since joining the Dixon stable and will line up in his easiest assignment for some time here. Buried away from inside the 2nd line last start, he hit the line nicely when a 5m 2nd to HUGHIE GREEN. A game 3rd behind COLT THIRTY ONE when 1st up, he gets every chance.

OUR BONDI BEACH (2) settled in the pocket trail from gate 1 in a qualifier 2 starts back when using the passing lane to get within a head of the winner. Forced to breeze from gate 6 last start over the 2138m, he was digging in for the fight and only faded the closing stages. He can fire the 1st shot here.

DRIVE THE DREAM (4) couldn’t go on with it last start in a slick mile and faded out after receiving a nice run in transit. With a cheap run the start prior she grabbed 3rd and is a podium player in this.

SELECTIONS: HASHTAG (5), OUR BONDI BEACH (2), DRIVE THE DREAM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HASHTAG (5) to win
