Bel Seleva (3) from the Glenn Richardson stable is on an unbelievable winning streak! The four-year-old mare has won her past six starts. Last start she carried 63kg at Gympie over 1030m and still proved too strong for Jomar’s Element who she meets here. She also defeated Marksfield at Gympie two starts back and now meets that horse better at the weights. Her record at the track, albeit over shorter distances is two wins from three starts.

Marksfield (1) is a former city-class performer who is looking to get back to the big smoke with a win in one of the Battle of the Bush qualifiers. He gets his chance here. Last start he won narrowly at Chinchilla over 1400m. He rises to 61.5kg but did carry 60kg to a three-length win when he last raced over this course and distance four starts ago.

All Host (6) has been racing in consistent form with top three finishes in his past five starts. He returns to the non-TABs after fighting hard for a length second at Rockhampton over 1500m. He drops in distance but did win at Gladstone over a similar distance four starts back. He should enjoy a nice run.

Lil Ruby Rose (8) is in excellent form, having won four of her past five starts. Her most recent start saw her win by half a length at Wondai over 1100m. She’s a noted short-course horse who has struggled over this distance previously as shown by her solitary third placing from seven attempts at the trip.  While she’s up in class, she drops dramatically in weight and draws the inside gate.
