SAM IS PERFECTION (6) was looking to make it a threepeat of victories last start when charging home in the closing stages, only to fall just short when 2m in arrears of the winner to claim the bronze. Making the most of an early scrimmage to find the pocket trail and then the passing lane to score 2 starts back, finding position cheaply can see him swoop late in this.
STOMPEM (2) backs-up from Tuesday where he finished mid-field yet wasn’t too far from the passing lane winner ARTHUR LOWE. Easing forward early to find position, he received cover soon after and was sound to the line. Getting closer to a win, he found the line in good order the start prior at Redcliffe and can challenge here.
BLADE (4) wasn’t suited from the 2nd line last start and was too far back in the pack as all the power was on up front. Taking them all the way here 2 starts back over the mile, he will fire the early shots.
SIR JULIAN (9) is never far from the action and last start was hitting the line nicely in the latter stags to get within 2m of the winner over the Redcliffe sprint trip. With the right trail, he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: SAM IS PERFECTION (6), STOMPEM (2), BLADE (4), SIR JULIAN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SAM IS PERFECTION (6) to win
COOL SCOOTER (3) has started inside the 2nd line at his past 2 appearances which don’t really suit his style. Working home in good order to be 5m from the winner LETTUCEFIRESTAR 2 starts back, he faded late over the 2138m here 3 back when working overtime in the breeze. Limiting the burn in transit, this looks a winnable contest.
MAJOR GENERALJUJON (8) did some early work prior to receiving cover last start and then was strong to the line when 4m from the winner. Only 4m from the winner at each of his previous 2 starts, he has the hoof on the till, just needs the factors in his favour here to cash-in.
SPRING CAMPAIGN (10) rolled forward last time out from gate 7 and obliged to do it the hard way was only 4m from the winner CAUTIVAR. The gate doesn’t help, yet he can be in the mix.
BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO (4) didn’t have much go his way last start from gate 7 when stuck trying to find position. Grabbed in the closing strides here 3 starts back, he can settle handy to feature in this.
SELECTIONS: COOL SCOOTER (3), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (8), SPRING CAMPAIGN (10), BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: COOL SCOOTER (3) to win
GODDESS JUJON (8) was warming up to a win after successive placings at Redcliffe leading into her latest start. From inside the 2nd line over the 2138m, she secured the perfect trip behind the leader before zipping up the passing lane to score. With a similar trip she will be dressed and ready.
KOTARE ELITE (1) found the pegs in a similar race 2 starts back when using the passing lane to get within 5m of the winner MISS MONEYBAGS in claiming the bronze. Not far away last time when looming up wide out before just peaking short of the line, she can make the most of this gate to challenge.
OUR DELIGHT (7) lands outside the front line again, forced to start from this same gate last week. After an early shot for the front, she found running line cover when 2m from the winner. Finding early position will be key to her hopes.
LETHAL STAR (5) was buried in transit from gate 1 here 2 starts back and never saw the space to have a shot at them. Doing it the tough way in scoring last start at Redcliffe, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: GODDESS JUJON (8), KOTARE ELITE (1), OUR DELIGHT (7), LETHAL STAR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-7-8
THE CRUISE MISSILE (5) is getting closer to a win after placings at 3 of his past 4 starts. Locked away from inside the 2nd line last start when closing in nice order for the bronze, he was nabbed late after setting the tempo here 2 starts back by SAM IS PERFECTION. He will need a slice of luck, but he can be on target here.
FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (2) will take good benefit from his return to the track here back on April 4 when returning from a spell. Spearing out from gate 3 to take control over the mile, he was able to dictate in taking them all the way. With the early speed to take control, he looks to get his chance.
KILLARA KAOS (7) doesn’t have many favours from this gate, however he is nearing a win when he conditions suit. Closing strongly last start when 4m from the in-form CAUTIVAR, he can chime in.
CC JONES (4) backs up from Thurs at Redcliffe where he looked to have some claims. Luckless at the Triangle 2 starts back when looking for space, he can use his early speed to find position and has podium hopes.
SELECTIONS: THE CRUISE MISSILE (5), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (2), KILLARA KAOS (7), CC JONES (4)
SUGGESTED BET: THE CRUISE MISSILE (5) to win
RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (5) hasn’t had much go his way of late, with his record not a true representation of how he has been performing. Slammed with gate 7 at his past 2 starts when forced to retreat on each occasion and then close out nicely, he can settle closer here and can earn a long overdue victory.
CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (1) doesn’t have the best numbers next to his name, yet he strikes the right conditions to turn his fortunes around. In the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start, he wasn’t too far from the winner BLACKSADANCE. Working home soundly here 2 starts back, he is in the fight.
ONE OFF (9) tried to take them all the way last start over the 2138m, leading them into the stretch, only to be collared up the passing lane. Fitter again after 3 runs back from a break, he can chime in.
SPEECHCRAFT (2) was probing for an opening last start at Redcliffe when buried away from inside the 2nd line. Luckless the start prior, he can settle close to the action and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (5), CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (1), ONE OFF (9), SPEECHCRAFT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (5) to win
SO KOOL MASTER (1) has placed in 4 of his 7 appearances here at The Creek and comes up with the perfect gate and conditions to match his pattern in searching for the win. Making the closing shot a winner at Redcliffe last start, he was 8m in arrears of ANYCHANCE 2 starts back. Sitting in the snipers seat, he will be ready to pull the trigger.
OUR MAJOR DAY (2) speared out from gate 4 when resuming from a spell here 2 starts back. Setting a slick tempo in front over the 2138m, he led for every stride bar the most important, when nailed on the wire. Not suited from the 2nd line last start, yet still closing strongly, he will give this a shake.
TENNYSON BROMAC (7) resumes from a spell and is afforded no favours from the extreme gate 1st up. Tough in the breeze form this gate 3 starts back and only beaten a half-neck, he may need the run.
MACEY JAYDE (3) took on a mares race last start when she had a good look for the lamp lighting duties but was repelled. Doing it the hard way, she was in for the fight when only beaten a half-head. She will be having another look here.
SELECTIONS: SO KOOL MASTER (1), OUR MAJOR DAY (2), TENNYSON BROMAC (7), MACEY JAYDE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SO KOOL MASTER (1) to win
There will be plenty of attention from around the country on this FFA as the millionaire star HECTORJAYJAY makes his return. The in-form MAJOR CAM (6) has drawn one hole closer than Hector to the pegs, is rock hard fit and is in the zone. Completing a hat-trick of wins last start, he capitalised on a sapping middle half from the 1200m to the 400m that was carved out in 56.4. Sitting back, he cruised over the top of them in the stretch. He can go again and spoil the Hector show.
HECTORJAYJAY (7) is now a 9YO and while his form lines are exemplary, the injury-plagued champ will be 1st up since June 2018, with that run following 11 months on the sidelines. Given two trials in readiness for the long-awaited return, he closed out sharply in the 2nd of those, scoring a nice win. With no favours from the gate, can it be a fairy-tale return to the track?
GLENFERRIE HOOD (5) led them up from this gate last time out over the 2138m when gunned down in the stretch by MAJOR CAM. Runner-up to the same winner the start prior, he will be trying to fight them off out in front.
WATCH PULP FICTION (8) will have the early options as the lone 2nd line runner to move away from the pegs. Chasing hard to grab the silver last start, he will be looking for track to swoop late.
SELECTIONS: MAJOR CAM (6), HECTORJAYJAY (7), GLENFERRIE HOOD (5), WATCH PULP FICTION (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR CAM (6) to win
CALL ME TRISH (1) was jammed with gate 7 over the mile last start in a similar race when easing back to find position after release. Hitting the line nicely in the closing stages, she was wasn’t too far from the winner JILLIBY GIZMO. Not far off the in-form CAUTIVAR the start prior when 3rd, she looks to get her chance here.
MAJOR LUCKY (5) narrowly missed progressing to the Final of a Redcliffe Series after finishing 3rd in the heat. Releasing from gate 1 in the heat, he finished 3m in arrears of the winner in a smart closing 800m. These conditions look to suit and he can challenge.
THE CASUAL GOOSE (2) made the most of conditions last start over the Redcliffe 2040m when taking control early. With a steady tempo, he dialled it up late to score an easy 13m victory. From the gate, he will be in for the fight.
ALI DOWNUNDER (7) eased back to find position last start over the mile. With the leader and winner making it tough for anything chasing, he was sound to the wire. The gate hurts, but he has podium hopes.
SELECTIONS: CALL ME TRISH (1), MAJOR LUCKY (5), THE CASUAL GOOSE (2), ALI DOWNUNDER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CALL ME TRISH (1) to win
MIDNIGHT MAN (2) was looking to make it 4 wins on the bounce last start when brave in defeat after doing all the heavy lifting. That was over the mile when only a neck from the winner SABRAGE after refusing to give in. Taking them all the way the start prior over the 2138m, he looks mighty hard to stop here.
MAFUTA VAUTIN (9) should be at full fitness after a six-pack of runs since returning from a break. Taken back from gate 7 last start, he was hitting the line strongly, running some nice closing splits. Doing it the tough way 2 starts back when only 1m from the winner, he can challenge late here.
FEELINGFORARAINBOW (10) aims up for the hat-trick after successive wins at the mile. Sent forward early last start, he held on for a gritty win after winning a qualifier 2 starts back. He will be in the fight.
JUMPING JOLT (3) was making his play in the closing stages last start and charging to the line went within a head of landing the winners cheque. Settling handy to the speed, he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT MAN (2), MAFUTA VAUTIN (9), FEELINGFORARAINBOW (10), JUMPING JOLT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT MAN (2) to win
