Racing Queensland has announced it will make further revisions to biosecurity measures for harness racing from next Monday.

With the approval of Queensland’s Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young, the following changes will take effect from Monday, May 18. They are:

  • Interstate horses will be permitted to enter Queensland for racing purposes providing they meet Racing Queensland transport protocols and Queensland Government guidelines (previously this was restricted to horses eligible for QBRED, Sales and  Springboard series races);
  • The stabling capacity per race meeting at Albion Park will increase from 100 to 110;
  • Field size restrictions lifted for selected feature races.

A further review is expected to take place ahead of Queensland successfully advancing to Stage 2 of the Government’s roadmap.
