Leading horseman Grant Dixon has done it again.

The Queensland based trainer prepared five of the 10 winners at the metropolitan card of racing at Albion Park tonight (Saturday).

It’s the 7th time he has prepared five or more winners at a single meeting.

And it’s the 5th time he’s done it at metropolitan level.

He now joins his legendary father Bill with a haul of five or more winners on seven occasions.

His haul of winners came via Frankie Rocks, Remember Ruby, Magoogan, Leos Best and Our Overanova.

Dixon partnered Frankie Rocks, Leos Best and Our Overanova while his wife Trista took the winning drives behind Remember Ruby and Magoogan.

“It was very pleasing and I’m happy with how the team performed on the whole, it was a solid night at the office.” Dixon said.

The highlight was the winning return of the recently crowned Queensland Horse of the Year Leos Best who stormed to victory in the Changeover @ Burwood Stud Pace over the 1660m in a time of 1:53.9.

Resuming since July 8 when unplaced in the Gr.2 $50,540 Sunshine Sprint when unplaced behind speed machine Hectorjayjay, the Cammibest gelding got back in the field before producing a determined sprint to run Montana Falcon and The Shady One.

Leos Best is being aimed at the Brisbane summer carnival features at Albion Park next month highlighted by the Gr.2 $60,540 Egmont Park Stud Queensland Cup on December 16 before connections look at another southern campaign early next year.

The five-year-old has now won 26 races from 43 starts while banking more than $344,000 in stakes.

Last season, Leos Best won the Gr.2 $52,000 Miracle Mile Invitational Drivers Pace at TABCORP Park, Menangle plus the Gr.3 $30,540 4yo Championship and the Gr.3 $30,540 QBRED Triad Final – both events staged at Albion Park.

Earlier this year, Dixon landed five winners at Albion Park.

Back on March 4 at Albion Park, Dixon prepared Monarkmac, The Black Assassin, Joys A Babe, Red Charmer and Foursharesmorebeers.

His best haul came at the now defunct Parklands complex on the Gold Coast when he prepared six winners back on June 14, 2013.

Dixon prepares his big team at his Tamborine property, south-west of Brisbane.
